After everything that's happened, he still doesn't have the humility to keep his mouth shut. Sit there, look humble, and give praise to the man you wronged instead of cutting him off at every opportunity.

The problem is that the Andrew had every intention of being a good cop but as you just heard over time, Andrew Collins got an ego because he got more attention when he made big drug arrests and it was that ego that took him down.

I'm still on 25yrs downed to 18mths. Even for good behavior, that's a huge leap. If this was Law and Orders Svu, the episode would have him do a bus for every victim.
I want to punch the cop in his face. He framed a man because of accolades at work? This white boy thought nothing about framing a Black man. He valued Black life so little he didn't turn over a new leaf until trouble came his way. Forgiveness my ass!!
Jameel is a saint for forgiving him. I wish the officer came forward but cowardice ruled. There are too many corrupt cops (& great cops!), but I'm glad Jameel is free, and the fact he forgave him shows his humanity.
This is so awesome! Forgiveness is a powerful thing. It saddens me to read through all the comments at the people who can't accept the fact that he forgave him for what he did. Yes there are corrupt cops out there, and he admitted to being one, and asked for forgiveness. Some of y'all need to learn from them about forgiveness.

Im not experiencing or witnessing police brutality against African Americans, yet as an individual cursed with black skin this touched me. There are a million ways this could've gone down but it takes a man with peace, enlightenment and self control to do what my brother did instead of seeking revenge (which was his for the taking). I respect and admire you my guy, as of this day forward i will handle all those who trespass against me the way you did. For you to this in America is beyond me, you got a fan in me i recognize the MAN amongst MEN🙏
Oh honey never say " cursed" with black skin please.. You are not in anyway cursed! I do not need to see you to understand your beauty as it isn't an never will be skin deep for anyone of us! I hope life continues to show you a path without brutality & much success! But once again no one person is cursed by their skin color.. We all bleed red!! That's all that matters!
As angering as this story was...whatever God does is WELL DONE. The Bible is very clear that God ALLOWS us to go through our trials and tribulations to deliver us to the greater good. We come out so much stronger and are better equip to handle the bigger tails that will come. All the glory belongs to God. I see 2 very mature men.......spiritually mature especially. Most men in this world do not have a smidgin of spiritual maturity as these 2. These 2 men are living testimonies to what God can do. Racial tensions, Perceptions, Misconceptions, White Privilege, Police Privilege all played a role in their story, and it was only both their relationships with Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone who stripped away all those barriers and brought 2 very unlikely men together to be a testimony and a witness for God. If God could change Saul (a man who used to murder and execute God's children) into Paul (one of Jesus's disciples) then how much more these 2 men, and more like them? *ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.* There are a few spiritually mature Christians who will better understand all that I just wrote and the 2 guys story. God deserves ALL the glory.
That's why that ex cop is going to be blessed he was honest that's why the bible says I rather fall in the hands of God then men because men has no mercy and has a unforgiving heart but the Lord has love and compassion.
Reading some of the comments. Some are kind of funny but the story in and of itself is sad and reflects how broken the system is. i believe in forgiveness and I do understand the importance of doing so. What I dont understand is the 18 months vs 4 years. This story being told should be a reflection of what is currently going on in our judicial system.
I am crying WHAT GOD CAN NOT DO DOES NOT EXIST... so he was convicted to 22 years and he only did 18 months 'by the grace of God' but the black guy got 10 years because....????. Where was God's grace then? Bye
He was sentenced to 10 years but it was overturned and he was released in 4. It doesn't change the fact that the victim served longer than the officer, but in the end, the officer would have been given the longer sentence of 22 years. But I believe it was God's grace that allowed these men to get things repaired. God doesn't work on our time. And please understand that if you harbor the anger that they don't have for each other, because you think it should be there, then you've missed the point of grace. :)
Joshua Benton I understand what you mean but at the end of the day, let us call a spade a spade. In this life, there are people that are more equal than others, more deserving, more fortunate, more lucky, more favoured and more privileged by virtue of (principally) race, geographical location, gender, social standing etc. I believe in God but I do not believe that he loves of all his children the same because no decent parent ignores the call of a distressed child. He is not a fair, ever-wonderous, just, loving, caring being. My faith in his existance does not blind me from the blatant injustices that I see and neither should that be the case for you.
But like Jamel said he want to punch him he could have be shot dead if feared his life, and If he was Felony Assaulted he would gone right back to prison.

For all the fingers that are pointed and all the negative comments. I prefer to say what a big person, and blessed man this is to be able to forgive someone who did him such damage. He is the hero in this story. Glory to God and may he continúe to be blessed abundantly and allow himself to be used in great ways.
God is still in control! :) I have heard many people say that "once you're a cheater/murderer/liar..., you're always a ____________". However, people are changed every day by God's grace and power. The world is so quick to throw the police officer under the bus and never deal with him again, but the way that the Lord worked on the hearts of these two men is a testimony for us all. We have a lot to learn from God daily.
I am surpired when I read the other comments. No one believes in the grace of god or in forgiveness. This is very sad. Lord I pray that you open more poeples eyes to see that this story is not about race. Its about forgiveness and your powerful never ending love.
This cop falsified over 50 reports and sent a man (probably more than one) to jail for a decade just for the attention of his piers, and gets 18 months in jail? Do they understand how many lives he has ruined? Because it affects the family too.
Andrew turning himself around is an extremely helpful thing. We can only pray more people act like him. I know putting a man falsely in prison is wrong, I'm well aware. But think about this: How many cops do that? How many? None. I know when people see this they say "Well he got caught, that's it." Keep in mind that HE admitted to who's-who, not forced to. He used this wakeup-call for good. Either way, super glad Jameel's free & super glad this cop won't pull that anymore.
Okay what's next after the forgiveness? Doing the Whip and the Nae Nae with them? Doing the milly Rock and the back slide with them? HELL NO! We need to ensure that this will never happen again! we as black people need centralized organized power that is sustainable in the interest of subsequent generations! We need to put our forgiveness to work like Mao Zedong did for China, like Ho Chi Minh did for Vietnam and like David Ben-Gurion did for Israel! The nail in the coffin for this oppression is self-determination! We need Pan-African uplift and Renaissance now! ✊😠

Yes it hurts😥😥😥
All the white people there are even unhappy
what an amazing man, to forgive after that. I don't think I could. Your son must be so proud of you.
Such a great story of forgiveness and redemption.
They seriously had a corrupt cop as a mentor?
Plus how the hell he only got 18 months? That's some B.S
i don't understand this, He just got 18 months and he I sitting next to the black dude.. I don't see justice here.
Steve Harvey,
U r just a blessing man and this is from someone who is living in France/Paris and always loves your show and your personality as a man, as a Father as a real Dad.
God Bless you man and you may live long and prosperous life !
"prayers works out miracles"Amen to dat.
God should have had a lawsuit for you!!!!! I would have sued him and the police for MILLIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Libertas ohh I bet you have millions
Exactly
There’s no way someone can make up for someone else’s lost time. There’s no compensation for that. I’m glad that he could forgive, but he’s stained forever with prison. I don’t feel justice in this. Crooked cop says what he has to say to not be locked up for longer.
He should have been sentenced to serve the time served by the victims of his 50-60 false reports/arrests.
After everything that's happened, he still doesn't have the humility to keep his mouth shut. Sit there, look humble, and give praise to the man you wronged instead of cutting him off at every opportunity.
Word. Someone had to notice, not everyone does. Good on you.
@@jlsg87 You seem like a pretty cool person yourself, all of your comments seem to have heart behind them.
Watching this back again, I feel my blood pressure rising; Andrew shouldn't have done a day less than 4 years. I hope he's doing things, on his own accord, to give back to the people and communities that he's wronged.
This is my cousin , and he is so mature. Whew he’s so strong for this forgiveness 🤦🏽♀️
Why doesn't he say why he really arrested that man? He saw a black man and it was downhill from there
The problem is that the Andrew had every intention of being a good cop but as you just heard over time, Andrew Collins got an ego because he got more attention when he made big drug arrests and it was that ego that took him down.
+Niesha McCoy It would appear that his INTENTION was to get his superiors and colleagues PRAISE. He GOT IT!! He was a jackass UNTIL the FEDS got in his behind. Don't baby this creep!
jesushateswood He admitted that he had an ego because of it and he became sorry that he did.
April Lambda. You weren't listening. He was trying to get another drug arrest that day. He was at a point where he didn't really care who.
+Niesha McCoy you know he targeted him because he was black. If the police officer targets a black person, the black person is going down.
Let all of us not dwell on the details of the situation but rejoice in the redemption and the power of God and LOVE!
WTH? The white Guy needs to be in prison. Why he sitting at Steve Harveys show? Sorry I dont understand maybe because Im from Holland
He served an 18 month prison sentence
+Niesha McCoy that's not enough. 18 month?? they should have given him at least 10 years!
For real tho. He should have done at least the same amount these other people he framed did.
ShopaholicOne dat is hoe het gaat in amerika als je zwart bent kunnen ze je gewoon aresteren zonder reden en jij kan er letterlijk niks aan doen
@@mariemeaaliyahmoe1237 they should of given him a 10 year sentence and made him serve at least 80 percent for what he did
I'm blown away that the innocent people served more time in prison then the guilty corrupt cop. Beyond unacceptable.
I'd be disgusted sitting in that audience when the cop started telling his story. I think I woulda threw something at him. Maturity is about righting your wrongs but dam that would of took a while to forgive if at all. And then 25yr sentenced downed to 18mths. TF? least give the cop the same amount of time that Jamel ended up doing.
At least, he stood up and admitted he was wrong for it.
+Niesha McCoy lol I guess that I'm sorry made up for the 4 years he was in prison....missing his kids' life.
+Niesha McCoy like he said, he only admitted it cuz he was caught. Doesn't sound like he would have ever admitted anything. And of course being a cop no matter crooked or good, protected his ass. I'm still on 25yrs downed to 18mths. Even for good behavior, that's a huge leap. If this was Law and Orders Svu, the episode would have him do a bus for every victim.
Julie D Well, at least the only person he's worried about having forgiveness from is Jameel.
I want to punch the cop in his face. He framed a man because of accolades at work? This white boy thought nothing about framing a Black man. He valued Black life so little he didn't turn over a new leaf until trouble came his way. Forgiveness my ass!!
Thank you Steve for these absolutely sad but very uplifting stories from people's lives. There truly are good people on this Earth.
Jameel is a saint for forgiving him. I wish the officer came forward but cowardice ruled. There are too many corrupt cops (& great cops!), but I'm glad Jameel is free, and the fact he forgave him shows his humanity.
Now that is truly God working.
this cop ruined this guy's life. and then talk about he found God.
Damn! WTF!!!!
And he's a mentor now. Wtf?
@Tess Maniglia everything ok except the nonexistence of God
😂😂😂
Christ is Lord praise God
"With great power comes great responsibility"
-this video is legit translation of that sentence
This is so awesome! Forgiveness is a powerful thing. It saddens me to read through all the comments at the people who can't accept the fact that he forgave him for what he did. Yes there are corrupt cops out there, and he admitted to being one, and asked for forgiveness. Some of y'all need to learn from them about forgiveness.
Please, stop! There's no forgiveness for the amount of time/yrs. missed between Jameel Mcghee & his son.
It's a horrid story but Im happy the cop admitted his guilt.
Tanika Chrishawn YEAH AFTER HE GOT CAUGHT
God is good
yes
Well he didn't so He is good!
and all the time, God is Good
God?? Grow up
Bobby p P u grow up
Forgiveness is like perfume that sprays freedom to many souls on earth.James thanks for forgiving him.
Wow you got to have a very forgiving heart to forgive that damn I feel good and bad at the same time
Many more in person innocent
I'm sorry but I cudnt forgive him
SDD525 I know no1 is perfect I'm speaking from a personal point of view I cud never forgive. I cudnt even sit on d same couch with me
SDD525 for real I can c he has not gotten over it n I understand bcuz its hard. but I cud careless that d officer pled guilty n Jamel was released. bottom line is he made him lose family time that he can never get back n that's Wats hard. its all good n well that he "changed" but if d feds didn't catch up on him wud he have changed? n if so how long wud it have taken him. wud Jamel had to do all 10yrs first. those r d million dollar question
Repent . Christ is Lord
When we don't forgive we won't be forgiven either.
Forgiveness is the BS colonizers created so we can grin and bare them stealing our land
This brought tears to my eyes! Wow so glad Steve would have this story on his show!
Now that, Brother Steve, was absolutely wonderful! Thanks!
He only got 18 months in prison after he ruined others lives and there families. lives of innocent children without there parent. definitely unfair but hey I am glad he is on the turnaround
What happened with them is what needs to happen in the world wear the pain and accept accountability...God can do what man can't but you have to have a heart of repentance
But like Jamel said he want to punch him he could have be shot dead if feared
his life, and If he was Felony Assaulted he would gone right back to
prison.
*their, their.
All powerful is God & blessed are his people, all glory unto him & y'all be blessed. 💯💯💯🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🎉🎉🎉🎁🎁🎁
This is so touching and beyond human understanding - this is nothing short of the grace of God at work in people's lives!
Very 1st step to change is recognizing your errors.
God bless them.
100% sure a movie will be made about this
Im not experiencing or witnessing police brutality against African Americans, yet as an individual cursed with black skin this touched me. There are a million ways this could've gone down but it takes a man with peace, enlightenment and self control to do what my brother did instead of seeking revenge (which was his for the taking). I respect and admire you my guy, as of this day forward i will handle all those who trespass against me the way you did. For you to this in America is beyond me, you got a fan in me i recognize the MAN amongst MEN🙏
Having black skin is a curse to you?
Oh honey never say " cursed" with black skin please.. You are not in anyway cursed! I do not need to see you to understand your beauty as it isn't an never will be skin deep for anyone of us! I hope life continues to show you a path without brutality & much success! But once again no one person is cursed by their skin color.. We all bleed red!! That's all that matters!
Weak
Being with black skin is NOT A CURSE. ❤❤❤❤❤
Forgiveness set you free
Forgiveness is powerful
That's why that ex cop is going to be blessed he was honest that's why the bible says I rather fall in the hands of God then men because men has no mercy and has a unforgiving heart but the Lord has love and compassion.
thats the most beautiful story I've ever seen about forgiveness! And It Truly brought me to tears.
This is most powerful tool ever. Forgiveness is tool from heaven
You make all cops look bad I’m so happy you got caught 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I am crying WHAT GOD CAN NOT DO DOES NOT EXIST...
HE is an awesome God look at how in the middle of nowhere he brings people together. We are all sinners and do little things ...imagine Jameel could even be dead from something else out there on the streets BUT GOD LOVES HIM SO MUCH He protects him with all this so he may live and live and live....to fulfil his purpose on earth.
May God help me to help others ....Steve kudos for all the laughs all the Joys all the realities of life you give us through you program
I watch more than 3 or 4 a day from Kumasi Ghana
so he was convicted to 22 years and he only did 18 months 'by the grace of God' but the black guy got 10 years because....????.
But like Jamel said he want to punch him he could have be shot dead if feared
his life, and If he was Felony Assaulted he would gone right back to
prison.
kaztazable Thank God he only did 4 years. God thank you for piercing the officers heart.
we will never truly understand God.
Virginia valderrama you see color...I hate it when people day that shit.."I don't see color". YOU SEE COLOR that's why you're saying what you are saying! GTFOH
For all the fingers that are pointed and all the negative comments. I prefer to say what a big person, and blessed man this is to be able to forgive someone who did him such damage. He is the hero in this story. Glory to God and may he continúe to be blessed abundantly and allow himself to be used in great ways.
Jameel is a better man than me...and I am white as snow. Much respect Brother....may you find peace for yourself.
We can do better...
So to all those who are still in denial about police corruption, that black people aren't unfairly treated, this should serve as a wake up call.
Amen.
We need people like jameel who have a heart of forgiveness
I am surpired when I read the other comments. No one believes in the grace of god or in forgiveness. This is very sad. Lord I pray that you open more poeples eyes to see that this story is not about race. Its about forgiveness and your powerful never ending love.
Would u feel the same if this had happened to you, I wonder
This cop falsified over 50 reports and sent a man (probably more than one) to jail for a decade just for the attention of his piers, and gets 18 months in jail? Do they understand how many lives he has ruined? Because it affects the family too.
Andrew turning himself around is an extremely helpful thing. We can only pray more people act like him.
I know putting a man falsely in prison is wrong, I'm well aware. But think about this:
How many cops do that? How many? None.
I know when people see this they say "Well he got caught, that's it." Keep in mind that HE admitted to who's-who, not forced to. He used this wakeup-call for good.
Either way, super glad Jameel's free & super glad this cop won't pull that anymore.
Forgiveness is a powerful thing. God bless their hearts
This is BS! Cop should've got more jail time.
Just came across this and I couldn’t finish because it’s so true and saddening. This happens all the time!!!
wow this is an awesome story of forgiveness
Yes , I loved it !😍
this is an awesome story of a police frame-up too. People feeling all
warm and fuzzy about it is unsettling to me.
That part.
Forgiveness is very powerful thank God He truly was in both hearts
Jameel is clearly a very good man . He knew he needed to let go so he could have peace in his own heart and life . Andrew on the other hand got off waaaaay too easy. He destroyed peoples lives. I highly doubt everyone handled it like Jameel did.
This is to Steve Harvey! I'm a Man full grown Man and this segment made me cry Dogg, I'm a Man full grown Man
Steve Harvey you are brilliant
I'd like to meet this former cop!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Father, son, Holy spirit. God bless 🙏🏾
Hello Yvonne
I love this story!!!!! God intervened in the lives of these two men.
Firstly i would like to thank Steve Harvey with his hard work with the whole world God bless you
Congrats to both, God bless you.
You both seems to live God their it is a rare friendship today.
Congrats to the officer you are truly a Man to admit and you sir to take the apology and live by it. Love this kind of stories may God bless you and many more.
that was the most frustrating, most beautiful blessing.
😂😂😂you know jameel beat tf outta him right after this show
he didn’t actually. andrew is my dad and jameel is his best friend. jameel is now facing time in prison for something he didn’t do ONCE AGAIN and it’s horribel
Jameel is my cousin , he didn’t. He’s very mature. But He didn’t deserve this crap at all tho!!!!
wow this story made cry, if he can forgive the bad cop for sending him to jail for the wrong reasons or no reason at all, then we can let our wards down from small stupid fights we get into with our love ones or people that we surrounding ourselves with. the most beautiful part of this is that both of them are now realizing the presence of God in their lives, and with that you can tell they have a good heart to begin with. tough situation
This was awesome. it just shows how great God is!!
+Intergalactic Post-Apocalyptic Sex Boat RIGHT PEOPLE ARE SO Simple mind smh
It's simply amazing, how WE end up being impacted, by those WE should be impacting. From Our Children, to our enemies / rivals. It's symbiotic mentorship.
