Beautiful musician and man! When I moved to NYC as a young trumpet player, Marvin couldn't have been nicer and invited me to watch a recording session and sub on a rehearsal for Randy Brecker on Bob Mintzer Big Band. Eternally thankful to Marvin Stamm! Class act through & through :)
Thanks for this, Mike. and....until seeing this I didn't know that it was Marvin that played those sublime flugel solos on the Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart shows!
What a wonderful interview, I've always been a huge fan of Marvin Stamm, got to learn alot more now. I have most of the recordings and Stammpede was my first Lp of him as a soloist, thanks for sharing this interview
He gives great advice about the benefits of regular exercise. My son and I used to do circuits between the trombone, treadmill, and juggling. Sometimes we'd substitute reading in novels for the juggling.
another nifty talk fest, always great MD, always get Marvin Stamm and Danny Stiles mixed up, Stiles was the cat that always played that chromatic scale thing on his solos on the Bill Watrous Wildlife Refuge Big Band ?

Fantastic, Marvin is a great friend, a great musician and a wonderful person ... Thanks.

Loved the interview. The long interview format is great to relax to. Thanks.
Thank you for doing these interviews, Mike. I really appreciate them.
Ha!...same record store experience here! Back of the album cover personnel list determined whether I’d empty my pockets, Mike.
Bravo Mike and Marvin!
Thanks Rando!

marvin's solo on "Ode to billy joe", (louie bellson's "breakthrough" album"). Sweeeeeeeeeet !!!!!
How come you don't do an interview with Dave bargeron?

Exactly how I remember him too.
Please don’t taint an otherwise wonderful interview with political jabs. It was disappointing.
