The airline business died on 9-11, after that it's been a race to cut costs and offer poor service despite increasing travel prices. IMO airlines should let people carry their food so they can save money on their questionable quality meals.

Shit, man. NH and CX too?
Not that I have much to say about CX considering I fly SQ to Hong Kong, but my main frequent flyer card is NH which I still keep considering they bumped me up to premium economy once, but still.
That really doesn't bode well for my trip to Japan on NH, which is really bad because out of the three full service airlines that ply the SIN-TYO route NH gave the best value for money, and only one of two that allows 2x23kg luggage for economy passengers (SQ is 30kg, no piece limit).

Airlines need to man up and deal with the issues.
Cleanliness should be one of their top priorities.
    Food temperatures are critical.
Using a Checklist making sure all expected items were loaded via catering should be standard.
As for premium paying customers they are competing so either listen to reasonable issues or lose your high margin clients.
