Thanks for sharing this brother! Always wondered what it takes to go to that next level. I started my channel when covid hit and it had languished until this year where it started growing a little, we never meant to make it an income and just wanted to record my fishing time with my nephew as we waited for the covid lockdowns to pass, trying to keep our sanity, and now its a mix of things I do along with fishing. Its fun to create content either way for me. I dont do facebook or instagram so Im not active in those places where I know a lot of growth can be generated. Wishing you further success and maybe being able to do it full time sooner than later, subbed!!! Cheers!
@@FreedomFishingFL I tried it years ago but everyone always wanted to argue over everything lol Instagram just felt so greasy so I stopped using that one after a short time too.
Interesting data Greg. A lot of us viewers/subscribers wonder about the behind the scenes part of TH-cam. Thank you for sharing this. If you need a fishing buddy in Jax or St. A. , give me a call. Congratulations on reaching the 5K mark. Be safe.
Great info. Starting out and learning so it helps to hear your journey. I also spent many years coaching and fishing has replaced coaching and mentoring young men. Congrats on 5k subs.
Congrats Greg! I’m just getting going with my channel. I’m in the same boat, work full time and fish part time or whenever I can. You kind of inspired me to start making videos. I appreciate you being so transparent with everything! Helps put things into perspective!
Congrats on the 5K ! Thanks for sharing your info. I've always wondered how the money flows. I'm also running my own business full time but love my hobby of bass fishing and growing my TH-cam Video.
Thanks for the video! I think we are close in age and most likely go to the same church. I love the fishing videos but also the ministry side of this that God reaches out to people in some of the, seemingly, most unlikely ways. We just need to be that conduit, whatever we are doing in life.
Hi there. So that was a nice video of explanation of TH-cam. Your doi g great with5k already. Im on my 4th year still trying to get to 2k. I think im behind of my goal because i haven't been putting out content like i was in the beginning. And now im out of commission for three months from a total knee replacement i just had. But im not complaining. Im hoping next year to get back with it. Tight lines my friend. Just subscribed.
I like videos like this. I had a bunch of people tell me I should do videos because I love fishing and helping people. I tinkered with it but work got in the way. I told them YT wont pay the bills but always wondered how much these guys make.
Great video Greg I really appreciate it. Congratulations on 5K quite the accomplishment. A lot of hard work but a lot of fun too. As far as your editing tool you mentioned the imovie. Do you upload your footage from your GoPro to the cloud directly or do you take the SD card out and load it to iMovie on your computer. Please let me know as I'm using Vegas 14 it's like 6 years old and my SD card so I'm primitive man over here. Thanks again for all you do and keep the great videos coming!
Thanks! I actually pull the clips from my GoPro that I want to use in my video. Then I airdrop them to my computer to create the video. Then I delete my SD card and use it again. Hope this helps.
The thumbnail for the land based video was probably part of the reason it did well. The “fishing frenzy” type thing really gets peoples’ attention-anything that shows fish behavior (but isn’t faked or manipulated) always does well.
Great video! I have a small fishing channel with less than 1/10th the subscribers as you and I appreciated the tip about creating shorts from you full length videos. I tend to get good watch hours from my subscriber base, but the low number of subscribers is holding me back. Out of curiosity, did you hit the subscriber threshold or watch hour threshold first? Thanks!
Buy the book "the TH-cam formula" by Derral Eves. It will help your understanding of how TH-cam works. You're doing well! Keep up the good work.
Thanks
Keep it up brother
Thanks for the motivation when I have been feeling stuck in lack of motivation land

Switch things up and make videos about your knee …your life
Fishing is overdone and limited

Thanks for your input of the subject. Often wondered about all that. It's great you explain it in easily understood terms. Keep up your good work.

Agreed plus people love land based videos because you don’t have to have a boat to fish there.
@@FreedomFishingFL right!
Pretty cool story about how your channel started.
Thanks
Interesting, thanks. I just subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
To start a TH-cam channel, what would you recommend in cameras for beginners to get started?
I used a Go Pro 9. Easy to use and learn. I now have a 9 and a 10. Two cameras allows me to get 3rd person views
When you do your land based videos what mount do you use for your camera
Thanks
Believe it or not I use a small clip and just set it on my backpack or the ground.

Subscribers first and about 2 months later watch hours.
Did the giveaway’s increase your subscribers more or was it mainly the shorts as you mentioned?
Not the giveaway. Once I hit 5000 subs I think the algorithm pushed out my videos more. Shorts have always helped get me subs
I’m out of Daytona maybe you can hop on the skiff with me one day!
