@@LoganAndersonFishing I think so but it’s all in personal preference as you know. 4x8 DC with no outside adjustment knob is why it’s so expensive.

@@David_Saijen Shimano sells a $600 reel and it still has a 7:4:1 gear ratio and can hold 110 yards of line. My $100 lews reel has the same gear ratio and can hold 150 yards of line.

Im not a shimano fan at all, but I bought one as well just to see if it felt as elegant as it should....i wasnt impressed at all fpr the amount of momey it costs. The magnesium spool will also corrode in any kind pf brackish water. I live in Louisiana close to the gulf so lots of brackish water. Long story short, the spool started to corrode, a new spool was the same price as one of my normal reels, so i sold my antares in a garage sale for about $40 😂
I have been throwing 1/4 ounce and lower lures for years and that reel just didn't feel right for it. I used it for a crankbait setup instead.....and youre absolutely right about it being a cold reel. Kept it in the house on cold days 😂

I’m pretty sure the lil strips are for the reel before you put your line in so the braid doesn’t slip. A lot of ppl use electrical tape and what not but those are like official I’m guessing lol

@@LoganAndersonFishing those strips are for reel foot protection. You can put them between the reel and the rod to not scratch the foot. Nice video btw :-)
