Giancarlo Stanton is a proven big game player. As a Yankees fan, losing the World Series in the way they did really sucked but Stanton proved he's built for playing in New York. The media scrutiny can be tough mentally on players. Stanton definitely silenced his critics with his incredible October. Hopefully the Yankees can come back strong next year despite losing Juan Soto to the Mets. I looked at Soto's departure this way: Because he didn't return to the Yankees, they now have money to spend on other players to make them a more complete team. Soto's defense and base running is a big question mark. They just signed Max Fried to an 8 year 218 million dollar deal and I believe they will make more moves in the weeks to come. Go Yankees!!
I would love to see a Giancarlo Yankeeography. A Yankee career riddled with injuries, slumps, prolonged boojng and fan animosity… and through it all, legendary October performances. He is a fascinating story in recent Yankee history.
