My parents said, "Ok, we'll buy you those drums, but you're gonna take lessons & learn how to read music like a real musician." I did, and I was SO far ahead of the curve as I branched into keyboards, flute, sax, guitar...anything I wanted to pick up & learn well enough to help me make a living. JUST focusing or READING rhythm, at first, is REALLY worth your focus for awhile..whatever you play & wherever you are on the skill curve. ..Just sayin' ...Thanks for your time.
I recommend melodic rhythms by Jerry Bergonzi, top

Thank you, very good lesson! And yet, melodic intonation appears before the melody, along with the rhythm.

The technique is great, it was very well described in one of David Baker´s books.
