What is SEO?
SEO, or search engine optimization, is the process of optimizing content to be discovered through a search engine’s organic search results.
Understanding the intricacies of how search engines like Google work is crucial, as you get a clearer picture of how you can optimize your web pages to rank higher and get more organic traffic.
First, we look into the definition of SEO and how SEO on different search engines are all about driving traffic but to different destinations like videos, product pages or web pages.
Then we find out the 3 reasons why marketers all over the world are incorporating SEO into their marketing strategy.
After we’re clear about the what and the why of SEO, we dig deep into the mechanics of how Google works to rank pages.
Sam first explains the process by which Google crawls the web to build up its massive index of information before going into the search algorithms that they use to find the most relevant results in the shortest time possible.
By taking a look at Google’s own claims on how their search algorithm works, we examine the various considerations that they look at when interpreting queries and ranking pages.

I'm confused here, should we have meta description or description unique for every single web page.
In September 2009 Google announced that meta description is no longer a ranking factor. So it influence CTR on SERP only. I prefer keeping a unique description for each page.

You just absolutely cannot have a competitive, normal business anymore without having to know and be an expert (or pay experts) in 10 different industries. You have to have web development, but that's not enough. What good is a website if nobody goes to it? Hence SEO. You have to have mobile apps, both for Android and iOS. You have to have legal protection for copyrights and trademarks across a whole slew of possibile legal infractions today. And you absolutely have to be willing to engage in globalization...be it to sell your product or to hire people to do the things you cannot possibly know how to do yourself.
Then you have advertising. You have to engage with social media in a meaningful way and have your ads pop up correctly and at the right time.
You have to have psychologically effective trademarking, logos, and insignias.
Not to mention all the other things a business must do to operate...with constantly changing employee laws, health mandates, yearly-changing tax laws...
What a fucking nightmare. It's enough of a mess that it completely steals the excitement and intrigue of being an entrepreneur. It's information overload and you have to be able to trust other companies and/or employees to do this stuff for you and have your business' success as the utmost important thing to them.
Overwhelming just barely touches the tip of the iceberg in describing the mess of starting a business...
I think "have to have" (e.g. mobile apps) is pushing it. We don't have an app ourselves, and we're doing fine.
And well, starting a business is supposed to be hard. If it wasn't, everyone would be a successful entrepreneur or businessperson. Entrepreneurs are different because even though it's hard, they manage to figure it out.
And while the information available can be overwhelming, I highly doubt there has been an easier time than today when it comes to starting one. You can create a website in a single day and start selling things.

Just have to say: modern search engines suck!!!! They just delete a word, I did not write for fun into the search line... What the hell is going on? Also, operators like "" or + are not working anymore. And worst of all, the good ol - does also not work anywhere anymore... What to do about that problem? Generic results are easy to find, but finding something special is basically impossible. Years ago, when the internet was much "smaller", it was actually much simpler to find a very specific entry. Now? Good luck. You will die trying!
