      Patients is a virtue, lol I am trying to get the big boy to rotate so I can measure the stroke but very soon my friend we will. Just got an engine stand today! 😀

    That is a big block. At 0:23 you can see that a third of what is covered by the valve cover is the intake manifold.

      Thanks for the comment, we just are not sure on what size either engine is yet

    That's a 351 cleveland. The valves covers are iconic.

      Are you taking about the small engine or the big block?

      There is no Cleveland pictured nor other 335 series engine. (351C, 351M, or 400) The easiest ways to recognize those is by either a 2 or 4 stamped on a front corner of the each head. Also, water does not flow through the intake manifolds of 335 engines. I can't see your engines very well, but good enough to know you don't have a Cleveland. The angles in which the spark plugs go into the head are curious to me. They don't go straight in and in alignment with the other spark plugs like a small block or Cleveland would. Pretty sure the 429-460 goes straight in too. I'll be curious to finally learn what motor the big one is.

    Pull the valve cover, canted valves is Cleveland block, in line valves be an FE. 2 bbl Clevelands ran water thru the intake and 4bbl did not

    From what I can see... you have a 390 for your big block. The other is a 289/302. If you can find a part number on the intake manifolds, it'll point you in the right direction. Assuming all parts are original, the intake will tell you what you need to know.
    There is no such thing as a 360 4 barrel. It could be a 352, 390, or 428. If you intake part number is D5TE9425 you have a 1975 390. The 1st 2 digits are most important. The 1st letter is the decade it was made. The 2nd is the year of the decade it was made. If your small block starts C5OE9425 it will be a 1965 289. In 70, the 289 was enlarged to 302. So if the 1st letter starts with a D, you have a 70s 302

      Yep I hope not to but I know the heads are a 360 head. Really can’t know until you can measure the stroke but the engine is licked I believe. I am going remove the flywheel and find what ever it might hide

      @huskiesgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t find any numbers on the sbf besides 3 letters also on the big block it is a 4 barrel intake probably original part but part number is D5TE8425m

    • @Stucifer
      @Stucifer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FE blocks are very interchangeable. It may be possible someone slapped a 4v intake off a 330 onto a 360 engine.@@huskiesgarage

      1968 is actually when the 289’s turned into 302’s and 1970 is when the 351’s turned into clevelands

      Hey thank you Davecavender8227, when I ran the block code D4TE it came back saying 1974 330 but I have found some more numbers by the oil housing and dip stick. I was hoping for at least a 360 but would love a 390. Also, the head numbers D2teaa came back has 360 heads. Now, I usually deal with Chevy and so this Ford has gotten me so confused. By the way the sbf we picked up has no numbers anywhere besides 3 on a tab that make no sense lol.

    • @Stucifer
      @Stucifer ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you don't have a 330. It would be a horrible motor for your Torino. The 330 was used for U Haul vans and dump trucks@@huskiesgarage

    I think for simplicity id go with the windsor block….but if its a 390 or bigger its kinda hard to resist the temptations of a big block….i had a ‘74 LTD back in the 90’s that had a 400m in it with a 2 barrel carb and dual glasspack exhaust….man that car sounded cool and floated like a boat!!! Literally…it was a great car untill one day it only had reverse….i ended up abandoning it a a 24hr diner😂😂😂

      @huskiesgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for the comment, I will look into that more but only problem is that it has a 4 barrel intake and the 400 m would have only had a 2 v intake. Every time I put in the 4 letter number online it keeps saying it’s a 330 but problem with that is the heads are a 360 head

      What Tranny does it/did it have? Those cars were available with 289 (68), 302, 351W, 390, and 428. I once owned a 69 428 Cobra. I'll be following to see what you do with it. Please take pictures of the engine bay. How many years has it been since it last ran?@@huskiesgarage
