I have a 19 48 Plymouth special deluxe P 15 four-door it’s black looks just like that one has a 218 straight six flathead three speed on the column and it’s my daily driver except my fuel pump went out yesterday
That beauty needs to be at the Tannehill VolksJam Aug 24 (fourth saturday in August each year) It would be super popular with factory AC and the original dealer badge!! I love it!!
Get it!! Save it!!
Check the ground. I had a grizzly the ground has rusted, it looked correct but had super high resistance.
Let me start by saying im a car mechanic and i dont know anything specific about this quad. However if you dont have spark you should test to see if you are getting voltage to the coil. If you have voltage to the coil then whatever part tells the coil to send a spark is failing (not sure what that is on a quad its either a distributor or ecu on a car) if there isnt voltage being sent to the coil then there is probably a relay between the coil and the battery that has gone bad. If you think grounding issues are a possibility you can always make a temporary ground from the battery negative to a clean spot of metal on the block or frame.
Hey thanks, I am a mechanic but electrical on 4 wheelers is not my specialty
Is it grounded properly?
From what I can see, also I replaced the kill switch assembly and the push start still doesn’t work
AiNt gOt N0 gAs iN iT
You probably have a fault somewhere in your engine cutoff relay. Check that you are getting voltage to the kill switch and after. If not, check your ground to the battery. Of that fails, your rectifier could be bad. Don’t just replace parts…find the real issue.
Also check the rectorfire and it also could be a broken wire
Pick up coil and stator it's in the bottom of the motor
Yes yes yes...Red keep it original.
Hi just joined....But can you shut the music off pls it's hard to hear you talk. Thank You😊
Hey thanks for subscribing, that was a very first video, we are adjusting as we go, thank you for the input. We like feedback back and it helps us to grow this channel. We are still working on that car and getting more videos of it and other projects, it just takes us time to do them. Welcome to the pack. @ huskies garage
Is that air conditioning?
Yes it’s an a.c car
Selling?
Sorry no it’s a customers car
I’m looking for some body parts for my 66 c10
Sorry man I don’t have any right now
You really need to stay away from the Chinese aftermarket carburetors there just. Rebuild the original one or get one that will definitely solve a lot of your issues and last a lot longer.
Problem was it was missing the carburetor, but thanks for the advice
I’ve never had an issue with the aftermarket carbs on old tractors that I’ve brought home without their original carb.
Awesome, it is running again.
Yes sir it’s running however the generator is not charging so we are probably going to do a 12v conversion on it
I like those tractors. Hope you get it going
I hope so too
Yes 👏
I’d drive it
Sounds fairly decent for a busted exhaust manifold. Just a recommendation, definitely before you pull a rotary mower (a shredder, a bushhog, etc.) you'll need an overriding clutch on the PTO (aftermarket and they come in two sizes). It has saved many folks using n-series tractors. Reminds me that I need a new fan belt for my 1950 8n. The old thing starts and runs when my 2019 Kubota won't.
Hey thanks for the comment, we will have an update on that ford 8n shortly, also please go check out our other videos and Happy Easter
I bought a 1948 Plymouth 2 door sedan back around 1997. It's the special deluxe model, a complete original car with around 67,000 miles that had been refurbished many years ago and it was showing its age. It ran but was not road worthy as the brakes were there, but barely functional. The paint was mediocre at best and the upholstery was failing , but the car was practically rust free with only a couple small rough spots on the lower ends of the rear fenders -- very rare to find anything that old in Canada that had survived in basically rust-free condition! The car was regularly driven around in the yard and was always garaged and out of the weather but I'm not a mechanic and have only a bare minimum of experience doing body work so I just about sold it as the prospect of ever getting it restored was looking impossible. However I had a visit from a young guy who told me his father restored these kinds of vehicles, especially Chrysler products. The father had a 1937 Dodge that was beautifully restored. Anyway, long story short, the old guy came by one day to look at the car and said he could restore it, the only caveat being that he didn't want to have to rush it. That was fine with me. The car had been sitting around here for over a decade so I said take all the time you need. That was back in 2010. Two and a half years later, I had the car back and what a wonderful result. The car had been totally dismantled but for the body which remained on the chassis, but everything else, doors, hood, trunk lid, etc., had been removed. All chrome and stainless was redone and polished, the interior was done to original specs by a professional. The only thing I did was the wood graining on the dash and window mouldings. The old man did all the rest. We kept what was functional and in good working condition but the list of replacement items was pretty long -- back leaf springs (with an extra leaf added), king pins, water pump and starter and a number of smaller things. The new paint job is Carribean blue, a colour that suits this car fine. The restoration is holding up well and the car gets some use in the summer months and is garaged over the winter. I had no problem finding any of the parts. The toughest things to find were the running board rubber mats and the clips to remount the stainless trim, but we did get them in the end. Also, the bottom stainless trim for the rockers is difficult to locate. The originals on my car were a bit rough and screws had been used to hold them in place, The company that did the chrome and stainless work said it would be more economical to remake new parts for these as restoring the originals would be labour intensive. I had been very fortunate to have a man who knew these cars inside and out and who kept costs to a reasonable minimum.......which I now realize would be impossible to duplicate today. Imagine, back in the day the cost of owning one of these cars would be less than what most lawn mowers costs these days! So good luck with your 'new' Plymouth. This one looks like it will need a lot of TLC.
38 most likely. 37 would have been a Wakashaw engine. That’s the allis engine
Hey thanks for the comment, yes we are taken parts off one for the other and what we can’t use we are scraping just to get it out of the yard. Lots of projects! 😮 Thanks for watching
You might not want to scrap one of them. Instead us it as spare parts.
You can hear the easy cylinders meaning that there’s valves stuck open. My guess is that one cylinder has compression at three don’t by the way it sounds. All the plugs and put your thumb Over, but not in the spark plug hole and turn it over it should blow your thumb away from the hole with each two revolutions on each cylinder
Thanks for the info, it had the spark plugs lose and I could turn them by hand, that was one problem and the other thing was my battery was dead. We are working on it today and will post a video shortly
Nice tractor
Thank you we hope to get more videos uploaded shortly
Acetone soak might help ..

Looks like a lot of great projects!

Good Ole American luxury at its best.
Nice fine; clean it up!
I'm having a hard time not just staring at the 65 vair as ya work What ever happened to the early ya had
It was sold , the 65 we have now is on the back burner until I can find the parts I need for the engine. But it’s also for sale.
What is your plans for this?
Hey thanks for the question, that car has been traded for another a while back.
That's cool a youtuber from Birmingham, Alabama

Hey thank you so much we greatly appreciate you

Hey thank you we really appreciate it
Nice car. When was it last on the road?
From what I can tell but not sure. We found an old tag in the trunk with the last sticker saying 1984, but I can’t be sure the tag was for this car.
@huskiesgarage Oh I see.
Thanks for the comment we really appreciate them. Please consider liking and subscribing it’s free for you and does very much help us grow the channel. We are planning on doing more videos on that Plymouth and getting it to fire and drive again. We have some big plans for that car. Please just bear with us, as you can see we have a lot of projects going on kind of at the same time and it’s just my wife and I doing them right now. Have a good one and GodBless you
That is a big block. At 0:23 you can see that a third of what is covered by the valve cover is the intake manifold.
Thanks for the comment, we just are not sure on what size either engine is yet
What motor is the the fairlane/torino now?
It doesn’t have one. Originally had a 351w but then a 302 and now nothing
What Tranny does it/did it have? Those cars were available with 289 (68), 302, 351W, 390, and 428. I once owned a 69 428 Cobra. I'll be following to see what you do with it. Please take pictures of the engine bay. How many years has it been since it last ran?@@huskiesgarage
Pull the valve cover, canted valves is Cleveland block, in line valves be an FE. 2 bbl Clevelands ran water thru the intake and 4bbl did not
It's an fe block but not sure what displacement and the other is a small ford it looked like a 289/302.
Thank you Victor, we are thinking the big one is a 390 or bigger, we can’t find numbers on it 😕
That's a 351 cleveland. The valves covers are iconic.
Are you taking about the small engine or the big block?
There is no Cleveland pictured nor other 335 series engine. (351C, 351M, or 400) The easiest ways to recognize those is by either a 2 or 4 stamped on a front corner of the each head. Also, water does not flow through the intake manifolds of 335 engines. I can't see your engines very well, but good enough to know you don't have a Cleveland. The angles in which the spark plugs go into the head are curious to me. They don't go straight in and in alignment with the other spark plugs like a small block or Cleveland would. Pretty sure the 429-460 goes straight in too. I'll be curious to finally learn what motor the big one is. @@huskiesgarage
@@Stucifer thinking the big one might be a 390 fe
@@Stucifer Big Block is definitely an FE series
Yep, but which one? Is it a mix of FE parts?@@bobbynelson5241
When ya gonna open it up?? Thats the video we all want to see, dont have us waiting too long now!!! Im curious to see how them cylinder walls look……looking forward to the pull apart video!!!!
Patients is a virtue, lol I am trying to get the big boy to rotate so I can measure the stroke but very soon my friend we will. Just got an engine stand today! 😀
I think for simplicity id go with the windsor block….but if its a 390 or bigger its kinda hard to resist the temptations of a big block….i had a ‘74 LTD back in the 90’s that had a 400m in it with a 2 barrel carb and dual glasspack exhaust….man that car sounded cool and floated like a boat!!! Literally…it was a great car untill one day it only had reverse….i ended up abandoning it a a 24hr diner😂😂😂
Lol hey thanks for the comment, well please go check out our newest videos we kind of got two engines but need help I.d.ing them
Is it a 2003 explorer motor?
No sir it’s from the 60’s but thats the only numbers we can find on there
I thought it said 273 Maybe 273 displacement?
I think that’s a date code or at least that’s what someone said. I honestly have no idea on this one but thank you for the comments.
big block remind me of dodge
Why is that?
It’s for sure a ford we put up a video on it yesterday if you want to check it out? I would appreciate it
@@huskiesgarage oh i see and will look into it
