Being firm and having consequences is important! when parents aren't firm, the children will take it as 'nevermind, my parents also dont say anything, at most they'll nag' and the piling continues. But then, the bigger problem come when two come together and live in a home as a couple. Conflicts would arise and can lead to long term problems.
Mine is the opposite. My parents are hoarder and I am the one tidying it up after them. Can't change their habit too since they say it is their house. Maybe I am OCD and like to be clean since young so I will tidy up the house all the time.
This program is more beneficial for older folks living alone for a long time. They need help to clear their hogging over time. However , for this family that have so many grownup children who are so lazy, this program will not benefit them. They need counseling and therapy instead to change their lazy habits.
Just wonder why most of them could still laugh about the state of their home. Aren’t they ashamed of it? Help should be given to the less fortunate & not to everyone especially ppl who are untidy.
