I just discovered this magazine and I love it too. So many ways it can be used to make and decorate a journal. I'm just across the pond in Prince Edward Island.
I just found your channel and I am so excited that you are doing a Daphne Journal!!! I have 2 years of these magazines that I have been wanting to cut up and I can't wait to craft along with you!!! Thanks for all in inspiration!
GM Mich, thanks so much for sharing your creativity. I also stumbled upon Daphne's Diary and subscribed to the magazine recently. The magazine makes me very happy too, and there is no such thing as too much of happiness. I love the idea that you use the vellum for and I plan on using the vellum in my crafting. I love watching your channel and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
I love Daphne's diary too! Thank you for several ideas. I love the black tape in the P-touch. I have some in my Amazon cart now. Also, the vellum template that you hold over the images to see how they fit is brilliant. I'm looking forward to following along.
I too live in Canada and just bought my first Daphne’s Diary, so I came across your channel. I agree these are the most wonderful magazines. I love what you have done with your journal, thanks for sharing!
Late finding you but so glad I did. Love great 🇨🇦 content. I'm in Waterloo, ON. Will be following this lovely and easy to follow journal❤ You are amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Well done Mich! Congratulations on your new channel. You are a natural at this, and your voice is pleasant and easy to listen to. Thank you for the video. I look forward to more and am inspired!
I really enjoyed your video! I never never heard of Daphne‘s diary till just recently and I ordered a copy from Amazon. Next time I travel to Joann’s or Michael’s in the US I will have to look and see if they carry it! A bit pricey, but your flip through makes me want it more now than ever! The images are really my style! You do beautiful work!
Thanks Patricia. It’s funny because I never heard about it until last year. I saw a copy at Michaels and I thought it would make a great gluebook journal. I read the magazine first. Then start thinking about page for the journal. 🌸🌺
Enjoyed this video and looking forward to more! Best tip EVER: using velum to make templates! I have been gathering pages to make DD journal also. Found a beautiful green 6 1/2” x 9 1/2” book for the cover. Anxious to see your next video ! Thanks.
Mich, I've spent the afternoon looking at some of your videos.I have lots of Daphnes dairy , which I wouldn't allow my self to cut up,then once I started I couldn't stop.I have looked at a few Daphnes makeovers and yours, if by far the best.I went hunting and haven't cut the ones your using.Guess what I'll be doing?Thank you for the wonderful ideas, I love them Hugs from Australia ❤❤
Mich, this is going to be a really fun journal and series to follow along with. You're page is so pretty and I love seeing all the different takes on the Daphne's Diary Junk Journals. I want to make one to and it has been added to my to-do list ........ I think it's number 859 😂😂😂😂😂 xo TFS all your talents with us.
I am from New Zealand and we are about 3 months behind with getting our Daphne Diary's we have just got number 2 - 2023 in late July. So will have to watch your video and be ready when our magazine arrive in another 3 months 😊
Oh my. Welcome. You are very far from me on the East Coast of Canada 😊I get impatient when it’s a couple weeks wait. You’ll have lots to look forward to. 🦋
I try not to watch other people who are using the magazine as I don't want to be influenced by others ideas, but I can see why it's popular as there are so many lovely images. 😊
Thank you for this wonderful demonstration! Just what I needed because I just started my first journal. I also purchase Daphne's Diary from a near by store. It costs almost double to have a subscript. I really was not sure how to go about layering the pictures and pockets. Thanks again.
TFS! I have wanted to do something with all the Daphne Diary magazines that I have, so thank you for this. Nice to meet another Canadian also I am a new subbie!
Just finished watching your video, and your page is gorgeous. I have tried to purchase the wood grain background from my local Michaels and was told it wasn’t for sale! It is only used for their displays.
Oh gosh. I can’t remember. That video was quite a while ago. With this journal though I’m not using gesso or other mixed media. It’s largely a gluebook. 😊
Hi Gill. I plan on doing another junk journal video within the next week so I’ll have a little section on my thought about fussy cutting. Sometimes I use scissors, sometimes a blade, sometimes I leave a white border, sometimes I don’t. If I know there’s an area that might be hard to cut without ripping it I put a piece of cello tape on the back. 🌸🌼
In Nova Scotia Walmart sells this magazine and has carried it for a number of years…. The price is now up to $23.95 before tax. But it is a beautiful magazine! Unfortunately you cannot sell anything you make using the images from the magazine.
Oh I did not know that. That’s good to know. It is such a lovely magazine and I do enjoy thinking of ways to use it. It’s sometimes hard to cut it up but otherwise it sits on a shelf.
@@michcrafty8664 yes I usually give my projects away and as long as they are not sold, gifting is permitted. So I will make a note in it that due to copyright infringement it cannot be sold.
As long as you don’t reproduce any of the images to use and sell multiple times, it’s perfectly ok to sell a junk journal. You cannot reproduce any image to use in multiple pieces.😊
Love your cover!!! It's the same cover I used to create my own journal June 2023.💜 looking forward to your progress. Mine is a writing only journal . I do have another journal which is made of images from Daphne's Diary. th-cam.com/video/Vz8PKMF0Pvk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cXGh-m_N1W5MNvhM Have fun!
The short answer is that I have no ink in my printer, however Daphne’s Diary has strict copyright laws for reproducing images so I’m not sure how it applies for home use
I love Daphne's Diary videos! Great idea to use a corner pocket to hide where you had cut the image from a page! 😊❤
Thanks Yvonne 😊

Hey Lorna. I’m pretty sure I replied but my comments were deleted. I love PEI 💕🌸
@michcrafty8664 Nova Scotia is also a lovely place to live. And visit. My son is in the navy and he was posted in Halifax for a few years.

A very full part 1. Looking forward to rest to come.
Lovely journal and first page. And the completed journal turned out to be a bit chunky but a lovely piece of art. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Lin. Yes it became a chunky monkey for sure. I’m putting less pages in the new one 🌸🦋

Oh hello, fellow Canadian. Thanks so much for watching. I’m glad you enjoy it. 😊
Loved hearing about the weather in Nova Scotia! Use Mod Podge on your pages and then you can use any page for the cover! Nice work. Thank you!
Yes the weather in Nova Scotia is so random. We can get rain, snow and sun in the same day 🌞❄️💧
While waiting for my DD, I'm learning 'nd getting ready to start my "DAPHNE'S JOURNAL".... so in love with these Mags..... TFS !!!/ 2024FEB💚💛🐝

Hello Mich. I am a new subscriber I just had this video come up on my feed. Looking forward to watching you. Blessings from Alberta.
I’m glad you found me. Blessings from Nova Scotia 😊
Everyone is using Daphnes to do journals now!! LOL. ❤
I try not to watch other people who are using the magazine as I don't want to be influenced by others ideas, but I can see why it's popular as there are so many lovely images. 😊
So fun to watch! I’m looking forward to seeing your other episodes.
Thanks Alicia for the lovely comment 😊

Love this magazine. Your project excites me.
Oh I’m so glad. I’m glad I could inspire 😊
TFS! I have wanted to do something with all the Daphne Diary magazines that I have, so thank you for this. Nice to meet another Canadian also I am a new subbie!
Yes, it is a great magazine. Where in Canada. It’s nice to have a neighbour 😊. I’m in NS. 🌸
Great idea with the vellum.
Thanks Sharon. I use the templates over and over. It really is a handy technique. 😊
This is going to be awesome! 🌞🦋
Thanks Claudia 😊
Just finished watching your video, and your page is gorgeous. I have tried to purchase the wood grain background from my local Michaels and was told it wasn’t for sale! It is only used for their displays.
I only picked mine up a few weeks ago at Bayers Lake and there were a couple left. It’s in the section with the poster boards.
@@michcrafty8664 thank you
I got my first book today, looking for ideas. Love this, pretty layout
Oh that’s great! There’s always so much you can do with it. I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos 😊
Mich - could you have sealed the back cover somehow, so that you could use the image you preferred? Perhaps with Gesso? Or a similar product?
Oh gosh. I can’t remember. That video was quite a while ago. With this journal though I’m not using gesso or other mixed media. It’s largely a gluebook. 😊
Great video, thank you, just wondering if you have any tips on fussy cutting? yours looks so so good and it’s something I struggle with ❤
Hi Gill. I plan on doing another junk journal video within the next week so I’ll have a little section on my thought about fussy cutting. @@michcrafty8664 yes I usually give my projects away and as long as they are not sold, gifting is permitted. So I will make a note in it that due to copyright infringement it cannot be sold.
Why is that? I mean if you bought the book.
Because the images are copyright, so they can’t be sold. You can use them for your personal use only.
As long as you don’t reproduce any of the images to use and sell multiple times, it’s perfectly ok to sell a junk journal. You cannot reproduce any image to use in multiple pieces.😊
Could you tell me how much it was to order it
Hi Charlotte. I paid around $108 Canadian for 8 issues. That’s about $10 less than the newsstand price 😊
I buy this at Walmart in Alberta.
It’s so hard here in Halifax to find a consistent place. I’ve looked at Walmart but have never seen it there 🙁
Love your cover!!! It's the same cover I used to create my own journal June 2023.💜 looking forward to your progress. Mine is a writing only journal . I do have another journal which is made of images from Daphne's Diary. th-cam.com/video/Vz8PKMF0Pvk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cXGh-m_N1W5MNvhM

Tip; why not copy/scan the other side of the pages?
The short answer is that I have no ink in my printer, however Daphne’s Diary has strict copyright laws for reproducing images so I’m not sure how it applies for home use
