Those onions look like the celery we've been buying. People are going crazy again at the stores. You can't find any cleaning supplies and toilet paper is limited again. Chew a piece of gum when cutting up onions . It helps with the tears and burning sensation. Your recipe looks delicious. I saved it to my phone. I hate crab meat but maybe I won't be able to taste it with everything else in it. Nice to see you again. I live to watch you cook and joe is a good cook also. Thanks for the video. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Stay safe.
This and good old fashioned potato soup, are comfort for the downtrodden. This has to be beautiful. Even without the green onion. Always a joy to visit the farm house and tent.
Fantastic recipe! Thank you! I have got so I am cooking a lot of soups and stews. I can store them in serving size mason jars and freeze them. I always have a fresh meal.
It is a frigid night here in New England and I just made a pot of this -- talk about a warming you up from the inside out! This recipe and its flavors are amazing, thank you for sharing!
Oh wow! This has my mouth watering. LOL nice video, thanks for sharing the recipe. My wife makes the Jacked Up Shrimp that you have shared with us. It's delicious. Lucky Joe! 😁😎👍
That looks so good. The tomatoes always add a bit of flavor. I tried my bisque with just a bit of cauliflower head very finely chopped, 1 tsp. of finely minced nay leaf, a 1/2 tsp. of Italian seasoning, and 1 cup of buttermilk in addition to heavy cream and cream cheese. A couple tablespoons of bacon grease with the butter adds another layer of flavor too. I'm thinking next time I make a bisque to try a tbs. or so of lime juice. I use my bisque for a base for chicken, potato, seafood soups. So yummy. Good job, Melissa.
Another recipe to make!!! Was hoping it had Cajun spice in it. Also LOVE the plate and bowl set!!! As a fellow rooster and chicken lover, my kitchen is all decorated with them. I also have 8 chickens.
I love cream corn too. I usually open a can and warm with salt, pepper and butter then pour over light bread and it is a feast for me. Definitely gonna try this!! Looks soo good!! Blessings!!
That reminds me of my childhood we always did that with creamed corn. I loved it. I’ll have to make some. 😋🤗 just over bread exactly like you said, it’s the best. I’m 59 and it makes me miss my daddy we lost him when I was 9yrs old. I thought he was the creator of that dish. Lol! We used to also take white bread break it up and put it in a glass of milk with a little bit of sugar. It was really good. It was great in the 60s anyway. You brought back some really happy memories for me thank you.
Just finished watching Joes video so it was only fitting to come on over to your video. I always find it helps to rinse off the onion after I cut off the ends and no more tears. I'm with Joe on the cream corn. Looks delicious!
Melissa, this was a great video. Easy to follow along. We made this for a post Christmas change of pace meal and it was so delicious. We did make one alteration. Instead of the plain whole corn. We used fiesta corn that has the whole corn along with red and green peppers. Thank you for sharing.
I wanna thank you. I am spending 1st Covid Christmas myself and you gave me a Christmas dish to make. Thank you and Merry Christmas. Glad to see you back on again.
Dang that looks good. I love watching you cook, It's actually very relaxing.... And I don't believe the sitting around part, you have lot's of animals to care for. Thanks Melissa
Melissa, I am still waiting for the shrimp dip recipe that you made for Christmas last year. Christmas is almost here. Keep the recipes coming. They are great!!
This is like a seafood chowder without potatoes. It would freeze well too. I am going to try this. Cooking for one I put my green onions in a glass of water now as soon as I get home. They grow.
Hiya girl! It’s wonderful to have you home and back in the kitchen with your calm voice, and yummy looking food! I love cooking soups and stews in the winter time, it’s so warming from the cold outside. I hope all is well with you and Joe and the farmhouse. Things are good in Iowa, just waiting on my Covid shot when it is my turn. Getting ready to mail packages to my daughter in Minnesota for Christmas. Well, hope all is well and have a wonderful Christmas you two and your extended families as well. Good to have you back! TC 🦋❄️🎄🥶🎁 Vicki from Iowa
Melissa, I just saw this recipe, and I haven't had this since I was in D.C. 15 years ago and I've been dying for it...now my mouth is watering and it's 4 am here in PA n the seafood store is closed.....I'll be making this one this weekend for sure.
@@astheroostercrows6435 Our produce here has been pitiful lately! Forgot to mention - I had five cans of creamed corn and my husband has eaten it all up! Must be a Louisiana favorite!
that settles it. I just took a variety of seafood out of my freezer (shrimp, scallops, trout, cod) to make seafood bisque. Now, I just gotta get a loaf of bread baking... Luv this channel!
Oh, I'm sure that it's GOOD!:) Hopeful that I'll be done with Trinka Davis in a year, or so.... I've got way too many things that I'll have the freedom to try!! I do love creamed corn too. I wonder if we'll get any snow flurries in North Georgia tonight? Semper Fidelis
Good to hear you back home Melissa,I know how it is being alone, I have been alone 11 years and I hate it. But Joe will be back soon. I love all this sea food and corn in this dish.I will make it and just freeze it. Is this a La. dish ? Merry Christmas.
This looks really good. We don't eat seafood. Sorry but no one in our family of five (3 generations) we have tried.. MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄☃️ GOD BLESS✝️ from West-Central INDIANA FARMLAND ✝️🇺🇸🚜
Sounds great. I can see why tge green onions were on the list - maybe instead, peas, green pepper, spinach or kale foe green. Tour tomayoes were a great idea too; the rotel would brighten both flavor and color.
Ann from Alabama here, Melissa! We've missed you, I know Joe has! The house in Louisana looks good! I've never eaten gumbo or hardly any Cajun foods. Not that many places here that serve them! But after the cooking for Christmas season gets over, I'm trying some of your recipes! They look great! I used to fry chicken strips seasoned in Cajun seasonings and coated in flour mixture.
