    Have one myself, I think they were used by plumbers to cut steel pipe way back. They used Hoover electric motors

      This one had a hoover motor I believe, my plan was to use it to cut small pipes but just never needed it

    Jack, if you find that the motor oil is too thick, add a wee bit of paraffin to it to thin it out.😊

    I have plans to build something similar to this, but I might make mine 24 volt since that's what my solar panels produce.

      Could you not find a similar machine to this and convert it to 24v? Sounds much easier.

      @@jacksgarageworkshop I'm actually copying someone else's idea, and just going with a gear motor rather than a belt drive. I haven't seen too many power hacksaws in my area lately.
