  • This week Lore (bit.ly/Lore_IG) takes you on a ride with him aboard an old superbike glory: a 2003 Yamaha R1, restyled by the customization workshop Noisy Style. What's it like to ride it after so many years? Does it still deliver intense emotions and smooth handling? And what are the main differences compared to modern sports bikes?

Fantastic review bro! Your English is excellent! It's a bit unusual as most Italians speak like Rossi, Iannone, or Domenicali..
The R1 had been modified tastefully and it does look and sound better than a factory version.
I hope that you do some more old school super bike tests in the future..
    Keep them coming!
    Regards from Australia

I purchased the 2002 R1 (which is the exact same bike as the 2003) in 2017 from its original owner with only 18K mi. and have done quite a bit of mods including replacing the clip-ons with an Apex 5 Inch high handlebars which greatly improved the handling. I give it the respect that it commands and as a result I have never dropped it. I love the scholarly treatment you give the review of it. You should really have thousands more subscribers and many thousands more views. Keep it up. Subscribed.

03 R1 was my first liter bike back in 2011… I wish I still had that machine.

In 03 I couldn't get my hands on an R1 because every dealership was sold out. I did however get a Gsxr1000 (my first streetbike) which was also completely mind-blowing. You said it, it's crazy how times have changed. Disappointing to me. 20+ yrs later I'm still addicted to that top end rush and adrenaline and the proud owner of an S1000RR and and a Bandit 1250. Thank you for this flash to the past. It's been an honor to have been here when Japanese engineering was at its finest and to experience the evolution of sheer bliss on 2 wheels 👍

I purchased my 2003 R1 limited edition black with red flame new off the showroom floor. We've been flying since! Here comes the bold statement! Fastest "documented" Yamaha R1 ever! 239.298 mph / 385.112 kmh. Show me the timeslip!

With no assists!! You get to dabble in the black magic known as throttle control.
I'm not a pro I will eventually get my knee down.
Bought my first sport bike last year and it's completely different to anything i rode before it.
Its pure raw and wants to kill you I absolutely love it 🤣🤣

The ai translation is crazy. The thing that gave it away was your mouth trembling in a weird way. Scary.

I was first blown away by its looks and then by its raw electronics free power. Not to take anything away from the current crop of super bikes but I’ve owned this bike for over nine years now and the hairs on my neck still stand on ends whenever I start it, let only ride it! I once tried to trade it in on a newer bike and at the last minute changed my mind. Never regretted it. Awesome handling and awesome looks. It has the best looking tail section of any pass or current litre bike. Believe this or not but I once owned a 2005 CBR 1000rr. Rode it for a couple years and then traded it in for my 03 R1. I can go on about this bike but enough said.
