This constant fight to keep up with the heavy snow accumulation has got to be wearing mentally. I just wanted to take a moment and send a big "thumbs up" to everyone in Mammoth who is keeping up their spirits and working every day to keep things moving in this difficult time. It's got to be hard to maintain focus and not feel down with all these challenges being thrown at you. It takes a special kind of person to rise up when the going gets tough, and you and your team are demonstrating that kind of remarkable quality in spades.
You move to mammoth for skiing and except snow…I’m sure he would be depressed if he received 3 inches of snow total this year. At least that my perspective from someone in Tahoe with similar if not the same snow conditions.
Mammoth Mountain webcams were insane yesterday. Total whiteout, 60-70 mph winds across the trails, entire mountain was closed. 7 FEET in 36 hours. I haven't seen this much snow up there in 54 years.
I live in Running Springs, half way between Big Bear Lake & Lake Arrowhead. We, from one end of the mountain to other, were out of fuel and food by Saturday. All the roads were shut down by Friday night. Over the weekend they did an “emergency convoy” for food/supplies and fuel. With Caltrans escorting and cleaning along the way. You know how it works. Storm of the century is kicking our asses! But, us mountain folks can and will survive this! As a Caregiver, I have seniors from one side of the mountain to other. But, clearly that isn’t happening right now. Hoping for sunshine and some warmth sooner rather than later. Trapped at my home like most locals. My seniors are okay, thankfully! Enjoy watching your mountain living posts! Love those pups! Keep up the excellent cleaning work, you can sleep when spring arrives!
Things are going to get very very bad. Now is a good time to believe in Jesus. I know from personal experience that Jesus is real. He brings immense joy and love and a much different understanding of things. April 9, 2021, my vision went black for a quick moment. I saw in gold letters: Thus saith the Lord. About four hours later, April 10, in my sleep I heard: Prophet. Tell them I am coming soon. 3-5 min later, at 1235 AM, our area had a 3.1 eq. Oct 26, 2020, I heard - Biden Harris July 31,2021 I heard - Stay in the Word. Aug 1, 2021, I heard - Do not fear what is coming. Aug 9, 2021 - Surge. Isolate. In 2019, I heard - famine and plague. Jan 26, 2021. Heard - War is coming Shawna. Better prepare. Prophesy. Jesus gives the best love ANYWHERE! If you want to accept Jesus, admit you are a sinner (we all are), believe in Jesus and that He came in the flesh and that He died for you (well worth it), call out to Him to save you. Just say - Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart, forgive me for my sins. I believe. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son so that whomsoever believes in Him may not perish but may have everlasting life.
First of all, there is no such thing as too much snow. Grew up in northern Illinois and moved to northwest Montana in 1972. Luv snow. Your videos are great. What an adventure. And it's all so beautiful. The equipment breakdowns have to be frustrating though. But you handle the complexities of the job well. The meals you prepare for your crew look delicious. If you ever get out of the business your in you probably wouldn't have much trouble getting a job as a chef. And the dogs add a lot of fun and color to your videos. Keep em coming!
The no gas and no food at the grocery stores has got to make you cringe up there. And for those people who will not be able to see out of the first floor windows for the next 6 weeks, that too has to be mind numbing. Give the puppers some extra treato's...they have been playing hard!
I was in the middle of typing something in regards to the hydraulic lines on your blower.... I can tell you guys have experienced these problems before! mad respect fellas!!!! your hard work is appreciated.....
3:40. Oh, many years ago the Mammoth PD to a couple retired almost 80 year olds on sleds parked at Vons during an epic dump town shutdown. "You can't ride those on the roads" Old Folks. "What roads?" Starts sleds and rides away.
I plow snow do here in Connecticut but hope we never see that much here , keep up the great work guys from us down here at CT DOT wish you guys the best
I am _stunned_ at the amount of snowfall there this winter. Last time I seen it that bad was in 1969. As of this morning Canyon Lodge is running only one lift; Chair 6 at Main, the snow is almost up to the chairs themselves, if it was running you could ride up with your skis touching the snow. Insane. And it's not over by a long shot. My hope is that they'll at least open 395 to heavy equipment and freight so that businesses in Mammoth Lakes can replenish. They're having a terrible time in the San Bernardino Mountains because of the same issue and residents are frustrated as hell. No gas, grocery stores empty, people can't even dig out of their own houses let alone drive down the hill to get gas and groceries. Grapevine is closed _again_ due to heavy snow and freezing rain.l
gosh thats alot of snow. send it here to NM, we keep missing the storms. called for 3-6 but we only got 1. . .INCH! love to see this happen here, been dry winters for too long.
I enjoy watching it all come down from Ao Nang Beach, southern Thailand! Been reading how everyone is stuck up at Lake Arrowhead. It's 93* here in SEAsia.
I remember going to Mammoth from Los Angeles on ski trips in the 70s when Mammoth on several occasions would have a 20' to 25' snow base. As soon as you entered the Palmdale, Lancaster area on your way to Mammoth on Hwy 14, it would be a winter wonderland of white snow all the rest of the way to Mammoth. White snow from Palmdale to Mojave, Mojave to Bishop, Bishop to Mammoth, nothing but a white snowscape. Nothing new that hasn't happened before. Lol, everybody from the news to blogs makes it sound like this is some kind of unatural phenomenon that's never happened before. C'mon people. On many ski trips to Mammoth we had to dig out the car when covered with snow. Nothing new.
I'm sure you're a little tired of the snow. But I'm in Chicago and just took a walk in the 50 degree weather. We've had about 8 inches total this year. Wish we got a little of your snow here.
Man, how do you do it? Survive so well in deep heaps of snow? I'm over here on the southern east side of USA WITH rain and no snow. Ya think you can push it this way?? Lol I need some snow over here...hehehe we need our lakes filled to the brim as well. But hey, stay warm as best you can! I'll pray for ya!

Flooding up there may not the be problem it could be in the Central Valley. Sounds kinda cruel but the Valley could _use_ some flooding in order to recharge aquifers there. Groundwater is in VERY short supply and that's where agriculture gets the bulk of their water in the summer.
