    A recent update was made in Power Apps where "Result" is now "Value". Concept showcased in video works the same. Simply replace "Result" with "Value"

      Hi Reza, Thanks for this wonderful video. Can you share video on cascading between dropdown and people picker field? Where on click from 1st Drop Down(Department), the people picker field(Managers Name) will cascade its options. Source is SharePoint list. I tried but unable to build connection between Active Directory.

    Your explanations are crystal clear - like always. Great thanks for all your fantastic videos. I was able to reproduce all the steps with a blank power app. And it works perfectly. It also works (kind of) with a customized edit form for one of my Sharepoint lists. But for the past couple of hours I fail to fix the problem, that all entries in the drop-down control are "invisible" (no text displayed). The selected value from a drop-down is correctly saved to the Sharepoint list though. Has anyone ever experienced this problem?

      I found the answer to my problem: In my power app settings I switched to the modern controls. These apparently do not fit to the steps described in this video. But I can switch back and forth to classic and modern controls, whatever I need to add to my form. And then everything works like a charm. Thanks again to Reza for these excellent videos.

    Thanks Reaz, Very helpful. One question I had was can we make the cascading drop-down combo box as multi-select?
    I have a situation where the first drop down is single select and the options in the second dropdown should cascade based on first drop-down. Additionally the user should be able to select multiple options from the combo box. When I tried this, only the last selected choice is transferred to the Sharepoint on submitting the form and not the others.

    Hi Reza, Thank you very much. This is extermely helpful. I am facing one issue. After submiting the selected dropdown options, it saves into the database (i.e. another sharepoint list), but if I make a change in the options name in the master list (e.g. let's say I misspell the state name of 'Deelhi' and correct this to ''Delhi'). What is the alternative for returning all unique values where SharePoint is the data storage, single line data type and large set of data?

    Hello Reza, thanks for the videos. I have built a fully functional app using your videos. However, I am struggling a bit here. There are instances where either the comb box or the drop-down input does not have a 'depends on' option, neither can I see 'allowemptysection' nor is the update option working with both Value and Result. I am using a 'table' as my primary data collection point and and excel file for the static drop down values.

    Thank you for this video, Reza. It was very useful. I’m customizing a SP form in PowerApps. Within this form, I need 3 cascading dropdowns. I had to create a custom card and add a drop down to it for these cascading drop downs because the form is very long and text label kept floating up and down the page as I scrolled. I created the cascading drop downs successfully and they appear on the form, but the selections will not save to the form. I’m sure it’s because the data source for the dropdowns is from a separate SP list. However, I don’t want to create a separate record for these drop downs. I want to save the information on the same record as all of the other information on the form so within the same record. Can you advise? I greatly appreciate your help!

    Hi Reza, can you please provide some more information regarding delegation for distinct function

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Distinct is not a delegable function and there is no way around it.
      An option would be to restructure the cascading list.
      Create a list of countries.
      Then create your cascading data list by looking up the countries (Lookup column).
