"best girl group i have reacted to so far" you are damn right. they are built different. i have listened to kpop for more than 20 years, there are only a very few groups that i actually respect from the bottom of my heart for being pioneers at pushing the industry forward. XG is one of them and the only one from 4th/5th gen.
imma fire shots here but to me, other groups in the same gen are just walking ads and product catalogs who can somewhat sing and dance. there isnt really anyone in the kpop game right now that is truly trying to bring souls to their music, its all about selling their idols to big companies as ambassadors. XG and their team feels different.

Even though they half trained in Korea and promote out of Korea, XG is not Kpop. More like a global group that sing and rap mostly in English. They're a Japanese group under Avex, a major record label in Japan. And we all know that almost anything Japan produces is gonna be top tier high quality.

Avex, Japanese biggest music rabel started this X-gal project, has appointed JKOP to the head producer of XG. As J-pop has been focused on internal market for a long time and Avex wished to changed this situation. Avex put huge budget on XG to create global girls group . Initial training was held in Japan for building up their basic skills like dancing, rapping and singing. As you can see that they have solid skill for everything which required to be a first class artist. Afterwards, they chose Korea as a market for promotion, channel to global market. That’s why some people misunderstand that XG is K-pop but they clearly define and manifest themselves as X-pop. They are from Japan but not ordinary J-pop nor K-pop but x-pop which keeps learning from good from other music genre and keep evolving. No categories of countries or boundary for XG!!! They are phenomenal!

Imma tell you now XG (Xtraordinary Girls) discography is incredibly versatile but they will always keep the elements of Hip-Hop and RnB within each song. XG is a Japanese group with 4 main rappers and 3 main vocalists. All of them are also amazing dancers. They do hiphop, RnB and pop music, check out X-GENE, GRL GVNG, Undefeated and their TAPE# series from #1 to #4 for more of their hiphop and rap content. Their song Shooting Star is a great showcase of their different styles of music with how it mixes hiphop, RnB and pop all into one track. Left Right and Winter Without You are their main RnB tracks. They also have a VOX# series from #1 to #6 where the vocalists in the group do covers of other songs and really showcase their singing ability. Plus soo much more.

I was lucky. I never listened to kpop but I follow a lot of dancers so when move 1 came out I saw it. I thought I couldn't be more impressed but I kept watching and🤯. I'm an old skool hip-hop head. These girls are impressive.🐺

All 7 members are Japanese but I believe that Maya went to an international school so is fluent in English,
Hinata is mixed, she has Korean and Japanese parents and
Harvey is also mixed with Australian and Japanese parents, she use to speak English really well but forgot when moved to Japan she is currently learning and doing really well.
Pretty much they all can speak Japanese, English and Korean which is why they want to go global. They deserve so much more and need to be known by everyone, their talents are beyond words but they can sing, dance, rap amongst other things they can do individually like cooking and such.

It's in English, Japanese, and Korean, and there are no subtitles but you'll enjoy the flows regardless of meaning (and you can look up a lyric video if you want to know everything they are saying). They have more Tapes - my favorite is Chill Bill, but Two Tens is also good. Tape #4 is the latest and is 5 separate videos. The Tapes aren't official releases, just fun TH-cam content. The rest of their actual official songs are going to be closer to Kpop, with more singing and dancing, but it's all very good, and they're all in English because they're trying to be an international group
