If your playback is getting stuck and sounding robotic it's likely because it's rendering. I'd just let it render and play it back again for a smoother preview, or just change the quality settings found underneath the preview window to 1/2 or 1/3 for faster previewing.
I tried to do this with Google Slides. I opened another tab and played the music while on google slides I just typed the lyrics with a background ;-; I guess u can say it kinda worked too-

Hey. You definitely can. I find after effects is easier for more complex lyric videos, but you can definitely make a great lyric video in premiere
it would be awesome if u can showcase the key shortcuts you're using in the tutorial, there's a software which does that

It makes no difference to be honest, you can have a higher frame rate. I just set it to 23.976 as that’s what I normally use for music videos

The zoom feature allows you to zoom in to make edits. It won’t stick like that so soon as much as you need to
