Imagine being born with the name, ELVIS. His impact on Rock & Roll is unlike any other. There will only be one. Gone For eternity, he truly was a special gift from God. We miss Elvis Aaron Presley.
He was a phenomenon and I don’t believe this short life is all we get, it doesn’t make sense even in evolutionary terms. I think we’ll see a lot more later.
My husband wouldn't let me name any of our kids Elvis, but I've had a cat named Elvis and one of our dogs, but not at the same time of course, that would be confusing for those little four-legged creatures. LOL.
I was there. I was in 8th grade. I threatened to run away from home if my parents did not take me. I saw the Saturday night show. Amazing. During this era the entertainers were the “half-time” show at the Houston Rodeo. He had just completed his second run in Las Vegas (February 1970) which can be heard on the ON STAGE album. He was still six months away from the August 1970 Vegas shows, which would be filmed THAT’S THE WAY IT IS. He was pure energy and drive as this was all new to him. It was an amazing 45 minutes. The best part was when he rode around the arena at the end of his show and waved at the crowd. Great stuff.
I thought that's how he made his entrance on the red truck. And he really only sang for 45 min? Wow. Ya this must've been the concert he got such bad reviews.
Threatened to run away from home?!🤣🤣 That's hilarious bro! What a great time to grow up in. I was born in 70, so my earliest memory is the 77 TV special.

I saw him in Tuscaloosa, Alabama about 1972, and 6 months before his death in 1977 in Montgomery, Alabama. Every time was fabulous, and it was more exciting than seeing a President or any king. And no, I don't believe our dear Elvis is alive. l am still rocking and enjoying Elvis.
On Elvis' 87th birthday I shared my 8mm Elvis concert film from May 1975. It shows Elvis wearing a dark blue two-piece ( red Armadillo) jumpsuit which is rarely seen on social media.
Those silly musicals exposed Elvis on movie screens all over the world. And for older fans like myself that actually went to see them at the time. They were quite enjoyable ! It's easy for today's generation to dismiss them outright but they served their purpose. They increased Elvis's popularity and made him a boatload of money if not the artistic outlet that he was looking for.
That's great to see, especially as the first two pieces of film, 3rd show at Houston Astrodome.28th Feb 70 and it looks like the 1st 1970 roadshow in Pheonix AZ after the filming of TTWII. Thanks for the release. There is an audience recording from September 9, 1970 Phoenix, AZ and even a rumours soundboard from the Houston show.
I am thinking last two are LA (California Shows) because last footage is from Summer 1974 and he worn that Embroider Eagle in LA. So make since the 1970 is footage is from LA too because it's the same stage floor.
This concert is from March 1974, when he was back to the Astrodome and broke his previous attendance record with a crowd around 45.000 per concert. Brutal show!
There is absolutely No footage of Elvis from the dome in 1974. He is wearing the second Eagle jumpsuit and that is probably from either Los Angeles, Huntsville Alabama or Atlanta Georgia in 1974. Man I miss this guy!

If only they had the kind of cameras we have today. They didn't even film him at his first live appearance after nine years. At the International Hotel, Las Vegas. Just recorded an Album only.
The final footage appears to be from later in the 70’s, perhaps 74/75. The jumpsuit is more elaborately decorated, Elvis’ stage movement is less energetic and he looks a bit heavier than the majority of the film, which looks like 1970.
Kevin, most people do gain weight in their late 30s, and 40s, everyone I know did including myself, and my husband, and everyone else we know. Elvis did have some health issues, maybe the medicine he was taking made him gain weight like steroids. I've had to have those throughout my life for my asthma bcuz of the idiots that smoked cigarettes around me, and it did make me gain weight. I don't understand why so many people focus on the negative when Elvis still performed amazingly well don't you agree? To me when he gained weight that just meant theire was more of him to LOVE and I DID, I DO, and I ALWAYS will how about you?
