    I love the quality of the finished edge I can get with an Edge Pro Apex, but it would take me way to long to bring back an edge on a badly worn knife, which I see a lot of at The American Edge.
    These techniques allow me to save a tremendous amount of time sharpening a badly worn knife and still achieve an amazing finished product.

    Only seeing your video two years later but what a great find! Very informative and excellent instructional video. Great to see you use the EdgePro and great information about the files you use. Many thanks for posting. Regards from Northern Ireland.

    Excellent reprofile! Finally we get to see the files in action.. Very good. Isn't that drill stop collar the best!

      Thanks Guys! Those files definitely have a home on my bench, and yes, thanks again for pointing me to that stop collar. Loving all these EP hacks!

    Grinding wheels are underrated! I use them to reprofile new Stencil cutting blades for monument blasting, it works great. Haven't used one to reprofile hand knives or larger blades but I have a broken whittling knife I'll try it on. Thanks!

    I know this was from more than a year ago, but I would recommend getting a different combination lock. Master 875 can be decoded without tools, and the 175 can be unlocked with a shim extremely fast. Master locks in general aren't great.

    I’ve always been told take the spine to the edge not edge to spine to minimize impact on heat treatment

    Is there any way to do this without power tools? Even if it takes some elbow grease

    Hi. Great Video. You mentioned you had a fine stone on your 8 inch Delta bench grinder. What grit would that be?

  • @chesshooligan1282
    @chesshooligan1282 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can confirm that was exactly a 21-degree angle.

    The tang needs to be ground down so the knife has a good rocker for cutting on a flat surface.

      The tang is the metal part of the blade that goes into the handle. I think you mean the bolster? If so check out this video on my other channel:

    I don't have a bench grinder or a power tool that can do the same, only a small dremel, should i try and make it work or try finding someone with a bench grinder?

    How on earth can you differentiate between 20˚ and 21˚?

      Every profesional has different experience and style. This guy simply believes 21° is the best here

    "21 degrees" - exactly 21 degrees?.. by freehand?... I'm sure it's sharp but that exact number is a dubious claim.
