Another great video sir. In the Bath driving stage you turned from Marlborough buildings onto The Royal Crescent( It is no longer a through road). Wow that takes me back.
I'm glad you took the time to get this working, even if it is terrible. The laseractive is the just so fascinating. I remember reading about it in the 90's but never thought I'd see one working.
Thank you, got a taste of this acting masterpiece at Game Sack but I always wanted to see more, not much better on the other side of that scientist conversation. ^_^ Nigel, no one will ever surpass you. ;)
Wales no longer exists, and is now just a resting place for Stonehenge (which has grown to the size of the former country). It sounds like something Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett might have written.
Thank you so much for share this rather obscure pieces of hardware/software. That "game" was hilarious!!! so many stereotypes lol!. I am Colombian, and i can only imagine if that kind of game was based in my country back in 1993, (lots of cocaine and Pablo Escobar), hahahah. It blows my mind that some people spent that huge money on that system to experience such bad acting and gameplay...
My mind is blown at seeing so few vehicles on the roads of London, visited in 1995 at the height of summer and it was more than manageable as I remember it. This is something for a "Best of The Worst" (RedLetterMedia) for games and oddly appreciable.
The intro with the chemistry reminds me of this episode from Mr. Bean and this open day in a school, where he blew up every thing and left this boy's glasses with blue dust. Wasn't it same era of time?
I would have never thought it possible but this looks worse than plumbers don't wear ties. WOW. Great video as always RMC! Love your stuff, please keep it coming.
I agree we may have found a new low! Although there are 21 more laserdisc titles for the MD and 8 for the PCEngine on this thing... how low can we go I wonder

Is it possible to give a video 2 likes? 1 for the video and 1 for using the correct name for our countries flag! :) Yeah, it might seem like a small thing, but it bugs me no end that just about everybody calls it the Union Jack.
Normally I am willing to let games have the benefit of the doubt, but you are right: the acting is ghastly. They had new technology with the 'Unreal' and 'Source' engines, and they made sure that those were wildly successful; some of the best computer games ever made. When FMV came out, mostly stuff like this was the norm (except for the 'Wing Commander' series).
For a low budget production they made a fair attempt at the film direction and location shots only to turn the whole thing into a pile of shit with that unbelievable wooden acting. I actually found it funny like one of those so bad it's good movies. Now you can sell it on Ebay for £79 :)
Given the quality of this game's acting I really think RMC could make a decent FMV game. (Seriously though, I'm pretty sure a lot of us would shell out for that)

Well those acting lessons from the Tommy Wiseau Drama School really paid off
I will give it one thing the video quality is light years beyond the Sega CD.
The video quality is amazing for the time! Once in a while I like to bust out my laserdisc player and watch old 90's movies!

What I've laughed back then in the early 90s.
The absolute audacity of whoever actually thought "Yep... let's release this. As a very expensive game on a very expensive console."
The Japanese dub version has the voice actor for Homer from the Japanese version of the Simpsons I think.
From now on, it is your duty to wear a bowler hat in every other episode.
"Does anyone want to buy a Pioneer Laseractive?" Wait for it........."I will"
The fastest and shortest your movie I’ve ever seen- all the time on fast forward 🤣🤣
That was absolutely hilarious. If not your best video yet Especially the conclusion of Japanese and playing the second side, bravo sir!

It's great isn't it! I'd love to play something with more gameplay on this format
Imagine how detailed a megadrive game could of been with optical media. They could of made the rom huge by swapping it off the drive for every level
I wonder if a laserdisc and cartridge combo could have yielded some fun results
The game gets a bonus point for showing a MR2 AW11 parked in the chase scene ^^

Arigato.. Wakarimasen! For me, it was great seeing Britain in early 90s, as my first visits were years later...
Good thing this is a game, because with acting like that, and with a plot like that. This could have been one heck of a decent adult film.. :D
The only good thing about this "game" is Catherine, and the laserdisc player, both hot lol
Unbelievably awful. I love it.

This week I will mostly be wearing, flag.

File that acting group under "Am-Dram",and forget it ever existed.

all in all, the image quality was very good for a laser disc though!
Yep it was certainly a quality bit of tech. I'd love Dragons Lair on this system
I thought it was Dr. Emmet Brown when he first came in the room. Then he started acting.
Lol. The west country scientist 😂 mind you, that's similar to my voice
