My Iceriver Kaspa ASIC power supply died. I fixed it for $12! (Works on KS3L, KS3M, KS3, KS5L, KS5M)

- My Iceriver Kaspa ASIC power supply died. I fixed it for $12!! Should work for KS3L, KS3M, KS3! Might work for the KS5L, KS5M! I thought this power supply was dead, but all it needed was a single fan to be replaced! A new power supply from Iceriver for the KS3L, KS3M, KS3 etc is about $260 shipped! Don't throw away a broken power supply until you check to see if this will work for you, it's worth a shot!
*If you try to take apart of repair your Iceriver you do it 100% at your own risk! I am not responsible for any damages!*
Here is the link to the fan I used in this video! amzn.to/4bN9lUz Remember you will need to modify and solder this fan in as is. I will search for other solutions. For now this 100% works with minimal modification!

Yeah I just left the other fan alone for now. I wanted a back up fan in case I have another one fail on another PSU. I'll have plenty of backup fans once my other batch of fans arrive. If I have another one fail I'll replace both at once next time

Very happy it worked out for you, sorry i forgot to tell you about the 4pin adapter you’ll need they come with noctua fans, don’t remember the name of the 4pin to 4pin adapter but they do sell them so it would be plug and play, however you got skills so its all good 👍 rock on brother!!
Thanks man! It was no biggie soldering the wires. I would have just thrown the fan/connector away anyway. I'm just so happy it worked!!

Hey, following up. I think I need to order a new PSU, and ive seen in 2 places where it says that all these models use the same PSU, is that correct? (KS3L, KS3M, KS3, KS5L, KS5M) Are they all interchangeable? It would be nice to have just 1 spare for all these. I have the KS3L,KS3 and KS5L.
I don't have the KS5L or the KS5M personally but Icerivers website says KS3L, KS3M, KS3 and KS5L all on one of the replacement PSU's. I have personally swapped a KS3L, KS3M and KS3 PSU and can day for 100% certainty they are interchangeable
Will this fix a bad power supply that has a blinking green light?
If the blinking pattern is the same as I showed and you see one of your fans not spinning it should work. Not sure if it'll work if you have a different blinking pattern
What do you use for a power screwdriver?
I just use an older than dirt Hitachi drill that I don't think they even make anymore lol I should get a power screwdriver though
