@swissinfo You can still see the the passport number in the hole-punched pattern on the bottom of the next page of the passport. You might want to blur that to or get Karpi a new passport. ;-)
Being a Swiss in a country such as the U.S. would seem useless without the moral umbilical cord that ties me to Swiss values, for America lacks nearly any values ay all. As Leonard Cohen used to sing (about the U.S.) "I love the country, but can't stand the scene". Keep it up Switzerland ;- )
I got 3 passports, Spain, Costa Rica and USA. I would still take a Swiss passport just for the pretty color, even though it would not make any difference on where I can travel or live, which includes Switzerland and the EU. Living in Switzerland however, makes you have to pay high taxes on worldwide income, which is a reason not to want to live there...! I hear if you marry a Swiss citizen you can apply to become Swiss in just 3 years, even living abroad.

The most precious document for a Swiss is his/her *Heimatschein/acte d'origine* . The passport is only a by-product
