I always found the question "Why did you choose Hololive?" kind of silly considering the astronomical levels of luck you need to be accepted into any major group, it's not so much about chosing the group you prefer as getting accepted into any one of them. That said I'm sure Hololive was the first choice for many of the girls, but I still find the question kind of funny, at least with the way that it's phrased.
Dude but lowkey im pretty sure, at least for calli/demondice, she could have auditioned for any agency and gotten in with her experience in the music/entertainment industry.
Joining Hololive requires a ton of talent. And talented people have options - they can choose a different company or fly solo to avoid rules and restrictions. That's why the question is worth asking. It's not always about money or exposure - people also care about flexibility, self-expression, and so on. Hololive isn't leading the pack on every metric.
@@Br0seid0n If only life worked that way, unfortunately talent does not guarantee success. Just like being a really great actor does not land you a role in the next blockbuster movie, you need connections and luck, and to be discovered for that - it's why we see terrible awful actors and directors landing the biggest names all the time, any none- quantifiable talent works this way. Getting into Hololive isn't about having a diploma, or the numbers to show (for the most part) - it works much more like acting.
@@setsumikokonoe4814 My point is that Hololive isn't the obvious choice in all cases. People have different priorities. Musicians, especially rappers, might dislike the idea of censoring themselves while representing a brand. So in a world where no company is perfect, it makes sense to ask why you'd choose one option over the rest. The girls clearly put more thought into their choice than just wanting to be famous, which is why we never hear the same answer to this question. That alone makes it worth asking.

@@lawliet617 i think its just her telling the same story but omitting some parts because in one situation its her just talking to a screen and the other with the bois irl. Sometimes depending on where you are or whats happening and who is around you the way you talk changes
@@Yachii thats true i guess it feels different to talk to a screen than talk to someone IRL btw i aint complaining or starting an argument just wanna clear that up
Not to start any drama but Nijisanji are pretty good as well, seems like they're a vtuber streamer company rather than a vtuber idol company like Hololive, but great content there too. If I'm not wrong, I remember Matsuri was a fan of Nijisanji too at first
@@zavblue1215 yep, some of the EN members such as Pomu were Nijisanji fans more than Hololive fans. And for someone like Selen, Niji feels like a better fit since they're much more open to collabs outside the company (and also seem more willing to let her play the various retro games she wants). So it's not always obvious imo
It's a worthwhile question given well Hololive/Cover may be the biggest but they sure as hell are very well known for being -very- conservative Japanese and only becoming more and more so over time. Content wise as a streamer/personality you are taking a severe hit to what you can actually do with your work by picking them.

Wow that's even more wholesome than e expected
Im so moved, really love calli's music and glad she joined and passed hololive
Beautiful pictures of Matsuri and Korone you chose for the thumbnail. 👍
Very sincere and inspiring!
