I LOVE THIS JAM. I've been watching this every day for about a month now. A PERFECT example of my favorite style of Phish jam: Totally hooked up tight, all four contributing equally to create a sound that is so much greater than the sum of its parts. Trey is obviously in his zone, and I love how he leaves some beautiful gaps of unplayed notes wherein Mike's beautiful contributions really stand out. Goosebumps every time.
If Bonnaroo was your first experience with them then you're just at the tip of the iceberg...enjoy the rest of your journey with this amazing band...I saw my first show in '95 and 24yrs later they still blow my mind..Welcome aboard 🐠

Ive been listening to this song dissecting analizing every word 6 times just to be sure of what it all means. This 6/14 recording which happens to be my b day seriously was is and will be hard to top as the most epic birthday present in all of creation since time started turning. I love you all so much and you have no idea what you have done and just the amplitude this reaches when coursing through the holes in the side of my head. I can't express my utter gratitude that this gesture deserves. I love you all more than anyone will ever understand.
This song got me up on that wave!! My first Phish show ever, honestly didn't know much of them before Roo,,,and now I can not get enough!! Thinking about Sunday night still gives me chills!

How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? I was 17 when Introd to phish which was “farmhouse”. Thought they were just a trendy band hippies and pot smokers liked. Went to my first live show in 2010 and got obliterated and melted. Been to about 30 shows since and my favorite band now. I’m now 28 and listen to them every day
Andrew Martin that’s awesome,,,I’m 38 and I’ve seen a lot of live music from just about every genre, big stadiums, small clubs and everything in between,,and nothing. NOTHING. Compares to those phish shows. I still get chills and a uncontrollable smile when listening or watching the live stream,,

Confusing stuff but a wave is really shared within a body of water the the creasing wave is just the surface breaking from the flat of the horizon , but what a bubble we all live within
I think Paul's guitars are more now if you can even get on the build list. I have 2 phred guitars. A old Vh and a custom docstar. But there's a few builders that make they're own version of treys guitar. Look around
True patients is a virtu. Ive always wanted to just play one fer a bit. A guitar like that isn't something you just whip out at a camp fire jam. That guitar is a light saber, meant to turn people's faces into unchangeable smiles
@@Sugaree99 S- as someone who has seen plenty of dead and phish - and plays a lot of music also in this 'jam-band-style', this jam is a stepping stone - a semi modal jam - setting the table; so to speak - this opens up possibilities in the set - as some tones are introduced in the jam, that otherwise would not have been introduced, thus encouraging the re-visitation of those tones later in the set, much like the re-visitation of a theme or identifying phrase is often heard. AND, yes, I have heard more incredible phish jams, but certainly the Dead did this plenty, *HelpSlipsFranks, scarlette/fire etc.. and honestly I think I felt the same way with Eternity - *not my most favorite song... but it is someone's favorite song.. and this jam was orgasmic for them.... and that is what makes JamBands want to create songs --- I personally am impressed with the lyrical structure of the song, the words are great, the jam is kind of an afterthought - but it is a transitional movement, it never seems to resolve,,,, lots of tension... very little resolution... and this makes for a LONG MODAL JAM.....*modal from Mode, or a representation of a Scale (Major, Minor, Augmented, Diminished etc.) (for instance, the GD utilized Mixolydian Mode of the Major scale in many of their famous jams, pretty much every time.. for instance, DARK STAR, or Fire On The Mountain - both utilize this exact same scale..the melody is derived from, and Jerry used it precisely The Jam is what keeps us listening- the evolution. YES, this jam is really nothing that "special" but it was free *cause Phish is cool that way,..and it opens up WORLDS OF POSSIBILITIES . Peace
Agreed zzzzz...been "holding tight" for actual new, groundbreaking music from this band since 99...but it hasnt happened. Trey's ego with this lyrical cotton candy--dont even get me started on the other awful side project songs now forced into Phish shows, further diluting the quality. But hey--they are making millions, and have lots of people fooled. Who knew Trey's "ear piss" comment from Bittersweet Motel (which was funny at the time) was more true than many ever knew...
but why are there so many walls and doors slamming shut? nothing feels right now. 6 years sober and my strangest truth is i was so much happier when i was fucked up.
