- I get ask a lot of which nailer I like the most. Well here is my answer. Milwaukee's 2745 vs. Metabo HPT's NR1890DR. Here I share my thoughts on both tools and what I recommend! Both of these tools have made me a lot of money and saved me even more time.

I have the Metabo and the Paslode cordless nailers. The Metabo is my go to cordless nailer every time, we find it is less maintenance and very reliable. Great video btw
Finally a comparison that makes sense! Here in NZ the Metabo is called Hikoki and becoming very popular as our trusty Paslodes are now seen as old tech. I'm switching from Paslode to the Milwaukee, I do a lot of renovations, and I need the power getting into our 50-100 yr old native timber (and that timber just laughs at the Paslodes) Yes the Milwaukee is heavy but the trade off is a bucket load of power! I have the dewalt 3rd gen framing nailer and i can't sink a nail completely when toe nailing pine to heart rimu, annoys me but i got the complete kit for $630 brand new. Hard to fault that price but im still considering the milwaukee lol
After time how does the Milwaukee stand up?

@@John.strong Im in NZ too, I have the HiKoki and it goes well. Check out Scott Browns review too. HiKoki is on Special at M10 at the moment for $829 NZD as a kit with the gun, charger and 2x 5.0ah multi volt batteries (have them price match placemakers as they beat by 15%)
Just ordered the Hikoki Metabo framing nailer last week and can't wait for it to arrive.
I bought the hitachi over 3 years ago and the only issues I had were the big belt/rafter hook which I’ve now replaced with one from the finishing gun and all day use you will need to switch out the battery if using an 18v 5ah battery, the Milwaukee I’ve only had for about 6 months , it’s heavier but I have 9ah batteries for my rocket light which easily lasts all day on one battery but again adds to weight, I’d say the Milwaukee is a bit quicker on bump mode, but both are excellent tools
I’m on the milwaukee platform, so it made sense to stick with it. An extra hitachi battery would have evened the price. I’m a pretty big guy so the weight isn’t much of an issue. The no mar tip is good for deck tops or fences.
I recently tried Milwaukee. Great gun. Seeing your review. Glad I didn’t get metabo. Trust me I like hitachi. All I’ve known. Tried miliwakee framer nailer. Like it. The weight takes three weeks to get use too. Thanks for video sir
One thing to consider, I don't own a single Milwaukee battery, and I have the Milwaukee bare tool with a Milwaukee to Makita battery adapter, and I finally have a Makita cordless nailer!

Metabo has battery indicator with their multivolt batt.
But if Milwaukee had so much time to develop their nailer, wouldn’t they have focused on weight, even making sure they were at least the same weight as the hitachi? If they were a pound lighter than the hitachi with the power it has, it would have been an even bigger deal in my opinion.

Yes, it's unfortunate that the Milwaukee is so heavy.
If they could make it lighter, It would have the only negative removed.
Milwaukees have always been heavy. Heavy Metal!
I use the m18 fuel range compared to makita they are much heavier but feel better to use
Thanks for comparation video. Which tool has less recoil? I got the feeling from looking when you are shooting that its Milwaukee.
Milwaukee is smoother and a bit quieter
I recommend Metabo. Comes with Lifetime warranty. M18 only 5years. Also you can purchase an air refill adapter for metabo to recharge it.

Love my DeWalt 20V brushless 30• framing nailer.
I’ve thought about getting one of these guns but for the price the DeWalt kicks ass.
Have you had power issues? I just bought the dewalt 21° and it couldn't sink a single toekick nail in soft 2x4's, every single one stuck out 1/4" even at the top power setting and deepest nail setting
@@oasiscrushinglife6878 I haven’t had a problem with it. I do prefer the 30• tho, I don’t like the mag on the 21• it seems to get lose if dropped a lot.

@@amoshousworth5568 yeah I just returned it and dug out my old reliable hitachi pneumatic until I do some research and figure out what I want to buy. I might just end up sticking with pneumatic since I dont use it a whole lot, and I found a really small 5g quiet compressor that actually has sufficient cfm output

Good video - I'm still living in the dark ages with my two 18v Dewalt nailers.............I really need to get one of these but still can't decide on what one to go for. How much heavier is the Milwaukee over the Metabo / Hitachi ? Is it a noticeable difference in your opinion ? (This is one of the main considerations for me) but I like the fact that the Milwaukee has an extendable Mag 👍
It is noticable for weight. I would guess a pound or more. Though I would pick the Milwaukee over the Hitachi for ergonomics and the extended mag.
@@RenovationsandRepair Ah, decisions, decisions......thanks for the reply, it is a pity Milwaukee did not work on getting the weight down.The extendable mag sounds great, but it will add even more weight........I find the Dewalts quite heavy when using all day (fencing), so weight is definitely a big consideration when upgrading to one of these.....thanks for the overview of them both though !

Hi Chaps. I need some help - choose most poverful nailer Milwaukee or Hikoki/Metabo for using 90mm 3 1/2" ring shank nails in old wood. I have Dewalt brushless 1st fix for 2 years. Dewalt is good for new wood but weak for dry old victorian pine. Any advice are welcome.

Just from my personal experience allways asking my pops to use his 6x12 dump trailer i bought a 7x14 and man do I love every time i use it. Also can put a skidsteer on it you will never regret buying one plus itll pay itself off or get you that money back in a 2-3 months guaranteed

All the motor does is reset a sealed air cylinder piston. It might recycle a little faster(maybe) but it shouldn't make any difference in the power. This is why the new m12 pin nailer can run fine on 12v. Its all about resetting a piston. There is no "new air" getting compressed. The metabo has a nice video showing the process if you google it.

The “HPT” at the end of Metabo stands for “hitachi power tools”

I have Metabo,it never fails.
Mine is Metabo jams all the time and its brand new. I really don’t know what to do. Literally I can’t do 10 nails in a row without it jamming

Probably using the wrong degree on it they sell 21 and 30 check your degree
I use a 21° hitachi and metabo hpt on 21° nails at work daily and never jam only when plastic jams inside the driver but it's rare I gotta take it apart to clear it

Metabo is much easier to place the nail where you want it and is much more rugged 🤘😎🤘💪🇬🇧
Does the Hitachi framing gin has a palm nailer?
The DeWalt one will last you longer cus is easier to fix when you open it up!

The Dewalt nailgun is crap to be frank went through 2 in 6 months and I’m not a guy that abuse my tools never again
Nail guns are a Hitachi thing , Milwaukee is more on the fight than dewalt is lately with their quality

The 21 degrees Milwaukee takes different nails. The 30 degrees one u can use pass load paper nail. The 21 takes non paper ones.
Can't call a gun reliable with only one box of nails through it.
It has had many boxes through it. Still going strong.

I run Dewalt. But can purchase the Metabo complete kit, cheaper than Dewalt bare tool. Come on Dewalt, lets get that pricing strait..
Good video, metabo will always beat Milwaukee in my opinion.... I own Hikoki/Hitachi and metabo hpt and can all be used with the same multi volt battery, my foreman owns nothing but Milwaukee and we always compete on who cuts the wood faster who rips the plywood quicker who can nail the sheets faster.... His Milwaukee gun goes from 20-22 ° everytime he shoots one or 2 racks it's jamming or shooting the last night bent into the wood with the head sticking out, it's to heavy, heavier than metabo so doing fascia is a no go unless you have a 1.5ah than it weighs similar to the metabo with a 3ah.... I gotta admit Milwaukee has a huge platform and offer different things Metabo cant, they also beat metabo in the circular saws section but durability is always first in my head I want my tools to last.. that's why I don't own a DeWalt or Ryobi lol. I'm looking into festool they look legit

Paslodes are very powerful, likely , pretty fast (but no Bump Fire?), but break down more often because of the gas, although you can fix it yourself.

I wish the come in 12v. No need big bulky batteries
Do not buy Milwaukee! After one year I went through two units. They loose their pressure and become useless. Me and another guy on my crew have the same problem, and he too went through two Milwaukee units. Absolutely useless.

I got 6 of they same problem aways in for repairs and really heavy
Finally you guys speak the truth. I have the same happen to my m18 framer. It lost pressure after maybe two boxes of nails. I have and like Milwaukee tools but the framing nailer is not one of them. It’s too new of a tech and must go through a few iterations to workout all the quarks. To my knowledge the Metabo can be DIY refilled if it loses pressure. All you need is an air flitting adapter for it. Cheers!!!

Hitachi has been the most reliable in the industry your comment change that to Milwaukee is better in the opinion of the industry standards you're dead wrong although that Milwaukee is a good tool it is not a better tool and on top of that you cannot service the Milwaukee yourself because they will not sell you parts for it unless you're an authorized service dealer for those that need to know that is something to think about no I talked to you you can buy any part that is in the parts list on that gun not so with the Milwaukee
hitachi got air valve ,witch one youre can refill youself aprox 7.6bar ,bur Milwaukee got some special gas ,thets extra spend time and money for servis,thatts whay i get Hitachi/Metabo 😃

I only have the 3 amp batteries. So I can not say for sure.

They reset much quicker with a 10 cell battery over the included compact one. They were designed with the compact battery pack in mind though, so the balance goes from perfect to a little off.
