How long does it take a tiger to fall asleep after sedation? Do you have to wake them up or do they wake up after a certain time? I'm glad she's doing better! Thank you BCR for helping these amazing creatures.

(i watched most of the one where your crew at the time practically jumped through hoops to make it feasible to even *try* to let zeus and keisha live together since they seemed fond of the notion and had a pre-BCR relationship. the fact that it didn't work out long-term, well, they *are* cats and cats are weird sometimes even if they're the big giant kind not my domestic-ish ones.)

Susan Williams Caged tigers do not attack people. Most of the caged tigers are just strong but they do not have much of hunting skill as the ones born in wild and been hunting since childhood.
You can still get a pet tiger. If it’s a baby it’s a less likely chance it will kill you cuz you’re raising it

Quick action prevented Keisha being attacked
again. She will survive this rough play/attack, but as staff said if Zeus and Keisha were put back together she could be attacked again.
Separating both tigers was the only safe option available.

As a future vet tech student (hopefully getting in to school this fall!), I love watching videos like this. Of course I don't like when the animals get hurt, but I really do enjoy watching the surgery and treatment processes. Thank you for not censoring this video (but still putting up a warning for graphic images), and instead educating us on what you do in a situation like this. Heck, thank you for ALL that you do for these beautiful cats!
This is why it upsets me that the lioness at the Dallas, Texas zoo died. These big cat rescuers knew that these tigers should be kept separated indefinitely- even if the wounds did not occur out of spite. However, the lioness that was mauled by two males, brothers, were not separated, even after the lioness had been attacked by one of the brothers on two, separate, known occasions (I witnessed one occasion with my daughter and nephew). It has been speculated that the zoo was trying to breed the lioness with either of the brothers, so they tried to force them to share habitat. So what happened? She was killed, in front of zoo visitors.

Bobfish Almighty Keisha doesn't live within a house or under specific ownership, and isn't considered a pet. She lives within a sanctuary. Sometimes animals naturally large can be small, or maybe small can become large.

Regardless of the sometimes negative press that Big Cat Rescue I still believe they take the best care of big cats no sanctuary is perfect or without fault but I do believe there are places that use the term sanctuary to hide the real purpose of their actions such as providing animals for canned hunts

Even after being stitched up like that, I'd imagine there would be a rather high risk of infection given the operation was done outside. Is this a reasonable assumption? And if a wound like that were to be infected, how would you go about dealing with that?
+LincDN We were careful that the surgical area was sterile. After the procedure, Keisha was put on antibiotics to prevent infection.

+Elizabeth Atoyebi We were not cutting her eye. The eye doctor was testing her eye pressure to make sure she is not developing eye issue since her dad has bad eyes.

We do not. We like to give the big cats some space when waking up from sedation because they are very disorientated and confused. We do not want to stress them out anymore than they already are.

It makes me happy to see ppl are trying to save the tigers there is only about 400 or so left in the world. They are beautiful animals I done my front room in tigers I have tiger coffee table,tiger lamps, bamboo like furniture, tiger nic nacks, tiger print curtains, got blankets, bed sets love my tigers, thanks for helping all the big cats.
