- This video will showcase you The Unknown in game voice lines with the survivor being weakened. If you didn't know when the survivor is weakened you'll hear the unknowns voice lines more clearly instead of being jumbled up when unweakened.

"Hey, I've got something for you" is 10x. creepy when it's like that
Those lines are almost what every kidnapper uses to lure people (asking for help, showing something, offering candy, missing dog…) I wonder if this creature learned them by itself or if it consumed and mimics an actual kidnapper.
It's implied it did copy a serial killer, it even uses the axe from the serial killer and has an add on from them. Generally the implication with the unknown is that it copies and makes local legends

I have a theory about this. The Unknown has a specific add-on called the killer's mask. This means that before the stranger became a monster, he "already was". After the killer was caught for his crimes and arrested, he was also chosen to be a project called "Apple Pie". Little is known about this experiment. But in other unknown add-ons, it says that the city's cinema received support from the government to make trash films and raise funds for this project. Another "confirmation" of this "apple pie" project theory is a phrase that the killer says in the lobby after the jumpscare: "I lived in long-forgotten dungeons." In case this phrase is not related to the government experiment theory... So it is somehow linked to the "game obscure" add-on but I still have no idea how this add-on is linked to the killer.
Yeah, it definitely looks more along the lines of "I learned that this sound attracts people" than mindlessly copying whichever sounds it's victims made. I'm using Fiddlesticks from League as a basis to this killer's behavior and it's pretty clear how big the difference is in both creature's levels of sentience. Despite how powerful both of them are in their own universes, Fiddlesticks is considerably more primitive and only refers to itself in first person when it's straight up copying speech from another person 1 to 1.
"I'm coming to help. Where are you? I can't see you. I. Can't. See you."
Considering that the main theory going on regarding the Unknown is being a manifestation of seemingly disconnected rumors that was brought forth through a town's pure paranoia and can seemingly get more powerful the more theories you build around it's origins and possible abilities, i feel The Unknown's lobby quotes are too personal to be copied from someone. They are self imposing, sadistic and sarcastic. It's significantly more intelligent than what people assume is just a flesh puppet, even when you consider that the other killer who's also a manifestation of darkness who controls a flesh puppet (Dredge) only speaks through loud cries of agony.

I like how the grunts of pain make it sound like a person in need of help, like if it was around a corner all you hear is grunts of pain from a hurt survivor only to find out it was a killer. Now thinking of it missed opportunity to not stealth into his game play so you could punish heal base players but he's got a alot already with hallucinations and weakening status effect

@@Clown_the_Clown Maybe it’s not OP but he DEF doesn’t need another aspect to his power when he has one of the best ranged weapons in the entire game. He can hit through walls and other survivors. It’s crazy.

The scary part is when the killer player turns the camera because the character twists his neck if he is going to look back.

Okay its "Help me..." line already disturbed me a bit normally because of how strained it was, but it's like 10x more horrifying when Weakened because it really does sound like a cry for help holy fuck.
I love that they reused that line from the teaser. That delivery is so good.

Cause a survivor who he hasnt weakend yet hear this morphed and unrealistic sounding voice like it was a alien trying to speak or something that nobody would be fooled by.
But when you *are* weakend (he's targeting you) you hear a normal sounding voice and it kinda does make you curious if someone does need help and not some otherworldly eldritch abomination around the cornor about to hack you down with an axe

I feel like the original body that the unknown is harboring is still alive some how which is why you hear the grunts of pain
The voice actor did a great job with this, his speech pattern is just slightly off to where it sounds more like something mimicking speech than actually speaking

May be a little weird. But imo the voice effect should be reversed. Like when your healthy and fine, it has to actually try and lure you in, so it does a good imitation. But once your weakened (and know something is wrong anyway) Its voice can deteriorate into the default as it's merely using it to get more fear from a victim its already chasing down.

Hearing the Unknown sound injured whenever I get chased by it is genuinely creepy as hell. It’s like it’s trying to lure you in into it needing help. That’s further making me want to help it out by healing it.

I like that in universe they would probably be used to hearing most of these already and naturally go towards it

It would've been extremely funny if you could actually make the killer say voicelines on command. Survivor dropped an item with Franklin's? Press a button to make him say "Hey, I think you dropped this". A survivor is circling around for a flashlight save? Press a button to make him say "Could you help me lift this". Don't want to make silly one liners? Just press buttons after sneaking up on a survivor to give em a scare regardless. You'd probably want the voicelines on a cooldown so players can't just spam them to be annoying, but it'd be very immersive and fun. Of course, I doubt the people who made the mimicking menace have a grenade launcher as a power care about immersion, but it is a fun little hypothetical.
Given the Unknowns lore, this actually would’ve been great as an aspect of its power. To lure people in, maybe it could only work when someone is Weakened, or when you’re Undetectable. But this would actually unironically work as part of its power. XD

When weakened is when they should hear the voice distorted, since they are under the influence of the poison. This version of the voice should be the default one to hear
