The Trip:
I'll be sharing the free itinerary for this entire trip in the description of Part 2. We'll also provide an adjusted itinerary that's more suitable based on our experiences after completing the trip.
In this video, we embark on the first day of our journey from Bangkok. We left Bangkok around 09:15 and made our way to the Chaluay Pochana restaurant.
While we had to skip visiting the largest reclining Buddha on this trip, we'll definitely return for it in the future.
Next, we headed to Khaoyai National Park. Here are the entrance fees:
Thai Citizens:
Adults: 40 Baht
Children: 20 Baht
Foreign Visitors:
Adults: 400 Baht
Children: 200 Baht
Car Entry Fee: 30 Baht
Our itinerary was quite packed, so we didn't have much time to explore Khaoyai National Park thoroughly. However, we managed to visit the Haew Suwat Waterfall, which is easily accessible and incredibly beautiful. We also stopped at two viewpoints along the way.
Afterwards, we arrived at my dad's place, the Khaoyai Nature Retreat, for a delightful dinner with a sunset view and an overnight stay.
We had an amazing time during dinner and enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next day. This sums up the first part of our memorable trip.

Back when I used to work on international school trips (outward bounds), we used to take kids down to that waterfall and back up - I once went down 6 times and back up in a day haha... It was used as a location for the film, the Beach with Leo DiCaprio (we used to tell the kids and they were impressed.... then, after a few years, only the teachers knew the film... after a few more years, the kids and teachers just looked at us blankly haha). A bit of rock n roll trivia: Wat Tham Krabok is the 'vomit' temple where Pete Doherty of the Libertines first went to try and quit drugs... he wasn't ready.... I've never heard of that berry but I'd like to try it as it looks magical 🙏
Haha, yeah, can you believe it? Climbing those stairs to the waterfall six times in a day sounds exhausting, but I bet it's also an adventure you'll never forget.
I've got to rewatch "The Beach" to find that scene too. I've seen it a few times, but it's funny how you can still miss things in a movie you love.
And seriously, it's crazy that not many people know about that berry. You've got to try it when you get the chance. Well, you will definitely get to try that with me soon. It's a unique experience. 😄

Bravo to your Dad and mom to have the vision and goals to build such a nice resort. Looking forward to seeing what he decides to do with the rest of the property. I love construction, designs , landscaping and all the challenges that comes along with buying just bare land.

@@brucewayne2773 we were in some fantastic ones in Phuket- BUT those versions you can't get in Europe (we have one at the office that's a 6 seater and is like a tractor!)- Europe definitely missed out on some of those (trust me, I've been looking to see if any are available to buy 😀)
