    Dreams come true. At last I can hear and listen to this beautiful, magic, mistery music deeply remembering all episodes. This music like a river of my memories, when I first time saw this brilliant film. Thank you

    This film was on the horror channel last week but I fell asleep, really want to see it properly now, great music and shots of London in it.

    Roger always putting his acting down but this film shows how good he really can be, and what a jolly nice chap he is in real life.
    As to the ending although it does not spell it out, I too took it the two versions re-joined.
    I also though it was a bit like the Star Trek episode The Enemy Within but two milder opposites. The meek one had been dominant before the split, the rejoined Pelham would now be the better of both.

    great film, the ending is ambiguous but I see it that the split Pelhams re-enter one body, the pain the bad Pelham feels when he holds his chest is the 'good' pelham re-joining his body. The 2 were split at the beginning on the operating table, and they rejoin at the end.

      Spot on, so not ambiguous really - although many dont get it.!

      Barney N.
      That's not how I see it. He clutched his chest because part of him was dying.
      For a moment he thought he would die too, then he realises he can live without his good side, shrugs his shoulders and walks off.

    • @Barnie912
      @Barnie912 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      But that doesn't explain the look on his face which suggests all back to status quo rather than evil Pelham alone surviving. In addition it is evil Pelham who clutches his chest so are you saying evil Pelham dies?

      Then how do you account for the Pelham in the car fading rather than simply drowning Stan? They merged, neither one died, that was strongly implied in the fade, the synchronisation of the two heartbeats into one and the look on Pelham's face after the merge.

      Most women tend to believe that the Rover driving Pelham is the evil one - and they have a point - mean to the kids, gives her nothing in bed, boring.

    It's the beautiful Rover P5 I feel sorry for. It was 'haunted' by a Lamborghini.

  • @TheMasterNo6
    @TheMasterNo6 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One and the same really. Once 'drip' 'died' balance was restored - he became whole again - hence the look on his face after the two heart beats revert back to one and he calms and walks off.

    Liked your comment in reply. Maybe its both - once one 'died' it rejoined and reset him like nothing happened at all...the one on the bridge seemed more at peace and a 'what happened?' sort of expression came over him...If I ever bump into Sir Roger I'd like to ask him his opinion...

      In the DVD commentary he said he played it as the "good" Pelham having survived.

  • @tyreburster
    @tyreburster 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Maybe that was the idea MasterNo6. My thoughts is that the viewer is meant to think, "who was the real Pelham and who was the 'ghost' ? Was the confident suave man the real Pelham or was the eventual drip the real Pelham ? Who knows ???

    Did anyone understand the ending to the film, I mean the very last moments - its rather ambiguous imo...?

  • @tyreburster
    @tyreburster 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've just remembered that as the Rover crashes through the bridge its driver - the drip Pelham - disappears and the Pelham on the bridge puts his hand to his chest, as if a part of him has died. But the question remains all through the film, who was who ?

    Then again who gives a shit as it's still fantastic. Must have seen it a dozen times.

    I am in a minority in that I really disliked the soundtrack. There was that tune that kept playing. Bleh. I think the score needed to be more moody, more like something out of The Twilight Zone. The music didn't capture the spooky quality of the storyline.
