I bought the DR4 in 2022 and love it. It is pricey but in my opinion the best jig on the market with unmatched versatility and quality. I’ve since purchased the dust port assembly and extra bits although I haven’t used them but that’s about to change.. as I am in the middle of a new project

I am very impressed with the quality of the Leigh D4R Pro, and expect it will outlive me. Some jobs need precision and reproducibility and D4R gives you that. I did blink twice at the price; it is expensive for a jig. But the tool that arrived is worth every cent. Fortunately too the online supplier I bought from called before shipping and asked what router I use - and promptly shipped the adaptor for my specific model; without that I would have been frustrated and I appreciate suppliers like that who know the product as well as how to use it. Pre-sales Leigh were helpful. I asked for a recommendation on which jig met my expectations and their response was to the point (and accurate). This is a tool I recommend and it is worth the money spent.

Mr Peabody and Sherman jump into the wayback machine when I bought the D4 and have since upgraded to D4R spec.

Recently bought a used D4 from, of all places, a used book store in San Francisco. Got the clean sweep dust collection for and just received the update kit for single pass HB dovetails. I also needed the gauge wrench and a few miscellaneous small parts and was very impressed that I could get everything I needed for such an old machine. Many thanks to Leigh and Lee Valley Tool.

Thought about buying one of these, but my hand-cut dovetails are pretty good and I enjoy the process. Having said that, if I had to build something with more than 6 drawers, where the dovetail layout was the same, I'd race out and buy one!
    Thanks for the vid

Yes it’s nice. My craftsmanship will have to improve before I get to that level.

I am looking to purchase this tool for some years already. My real concern is that is not so easy to work with. I have an awfully bad experience with a Mortise and Tenon Jig - Trend, which is very difficult to prepare for work, adjustment is hell and not only that. The worst thing is that this tool is not made to work fast because for every position you must unclamp and clamp again, this maneuver not being so easy to make. For 20 holes you will lose 4 hours. The last problem when using this type of tools is when your piece of wood is much longer than the space between the floor and the jig.

That’s a bit pricey for my budget. I’m sure it’s a nice tool to have tho.
