    This dark cockpit reminds me shouting instructors,messy items, tons of improper instructions.We all passed bootcamp times. Fly safe guys.

    Do you have company guidelines for how to land without engines or do you use other sources? Noticed you were using flaps 5 pretty far out when it still looked kind of shallow.

      When you have loss of thrust on both engines, the main goal (as always) is to fly the aircraft first while carrying out the Memory Items. The objective of memory items for loss of thrust on both engines is to restart at least one engine. While the Pilot Monitoring was trying to do just that, Pilot Flying was gliding towards the nearest airport (Copenhagen). The aircraft was on 3-degree glide slope all the way to the runway once established on the final approach. With Flaps 5 the speed remains approximately constant (on 3-degree descent), once you start selecting higher flap setting and gear, the increased drag will slow down the aircraft. You can see that the aircraft actually touched down on speed. This scenario is very dynamic and pilots are using their skills, good airmanship and good judgement to solve this to a safe outcome.

      The 737 Handbook Just surprised they had to put out any drag for a 3 degrees glide slope engines out. The NG glide ratio is like 18 which equates to a 3.2 glide path, so I would personally have stayed at a slightly higher angle than 3 to make sure I could make the field. But it looks like it worked for them in the sim. Is it an 800 sim? My numbers may be for a 700. The 800 probably has a slightly better ratio.

      @@johnraahauge4552 As you can see, the 737-800 glides on F5 on 3-degree glide just fine. If we had flaps up, the speed would actually increase. We do 3-degree glides day in and day out. It is easier to manage the energy on a set vertical profile and delay the configuration to later get rid of the speed. There is no right or wrong here, but my aim is to get onto the final to intercept a standard 3-degree vertical profile and then delay the configuration depending on the speed.

      @@the737handbook5 Hopefully only day in and day out in the sim :) The 700 comes out of the sky a little easier than the 800, so I would probably initially stay slightly higher than 3 degrees. But I do like your technique. Is it described in your company manual? If so, I would like to see a copy.

      Should be around the min clean speed (between 210 and 220 kts)

      There is no RAT on 737. We have to start the APU to get normal power supply back online. Otherwise 2 batteries would supply standby power for 60 minutes.

    • @ShefTimi
      @ShefTimi 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you will first start the APU before you can try restarting the engine?
