    Grant, Nice job...! Get some small lag bolts or screws and find a place to anchor those into the ceiling. Then use some Rock wool wrapped in a breathable fabric and hang it over your mix position. Easy to put up and take down and minor patching to the screw holes if you move. It will save you tons of time in the long run. Your mixes will come together faster..

      That’s really good advice, I think I’ll do something like that! Thank you!

      @@Grantborland You definitely should! I've heard that many times now that this particular synth is kind of ushering in a new era and it's a great time to be into synthesizing for sure. I imagine tons of people would love a good breakdown video for it

    Hey Grant! Loved the tour, grabbing a pair of footprints myself! Wanted to ask ya, what monitor stands are you using?

    • @Grantborland
      @Grantborland  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's awesome! I think you'll really like them. I'm just using some Gator Frameworks GFW-SPK-SM50 Studio Monitor Stands right now. I've had them for the better part of 6-7 years. Nothing against them, but I plan on upgrading them as soon as I can. They definitely have some wobble to them, and now that I have some higher end monitors up there, the thought of them falling terrifies me.
      So just be careful with the stands you put them on.
      I plan on upgrading to some Sound Anchors ADJ2 Monitor Stands when I can - They're pretty expensive though for stands, but they seem very sturdy, and I want to make sure my gear isn't going anywhere when I use them!
      Hope that helps a bit!

      @@Grantborland Thanks for the speedy response man! I'm very excited about them, I might end up just keeping them on the desk, I have the output desk as well. How do you find the bass on the Footprint02s? Do you ever find it lacking?

    • @Grantborland
      @Grantborland  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelgoldchain nice choice in desk! Great minds think alike hahah :)
      I think the bass sounds pretty great on them, I think it comes down to personal preference, but I'm not using a sub or anything. Overall things tend to translate fairly well with them - I may eventually invest in a sub, but for now I'm totally happy with just the FP02!

    are the barefoots worth getting and do you think you need a sub to go with it?

    • @Grantborland
      @Grantborland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say they were definitely worth getting - I'm a big fan of them! The FP02 is only 6.5 inches, but still put's out a good amount of low end. On their website it says that they get down to 42hz, so if you want to get lower than that, I'd recommend a sub.
      That said, I don't have a sub in my studio, and I think they sound pretty good!
