Yami, you sold me on this Cricut machine. Once funds get better here, I'm buying this one. Right now, funds are extremely extremely tight. We just found out last week that my hubby needs total shoulder replacement surgery, and our central air condition unit is still broken. When it rains, it pours here. 😕

I got a cricut joy 5 months ago! I'm not tech savvy and still don't understand how to use it! I would love to make ornaments for gifts. The one you have looks nice. 🤷♀️

I agree with you. I sold my cricut joy…it was not bringing me joy! 😂I felt it was difficult to use so you’re not alone. I’ve used several of the other cricut machines with no issues. I just ordered this xtra because I like that it uses design space instead of the cricut joy app. 🤞🏼Here’s hoping it’s a success!

I bought the Cricut Joy thinking I could make sentiment strips for my greeting cards. After my purchase I learned it could not print and cut. I'm definitely excited about this new machine.

Love it! Thank you for sharing. My grandson would love this machine and can help grandma with stickers he likes to make and give them out to his friends and family…I have the joy and sometimes I’m work on it and he stands there looking and asking questions. I have shown him something and he is amazed on how fast I can whip up a sticker project…❤️
do you have to CALIBRATE the JOY machine....because my Xtra machine would not calibrate.....
@@artsylady3187 I had to call Cricut because I had same problem the machine was defective and I did a zoom call with them to show them and they sent me a new machine and it works great. They will send you a replacement and a return label you can print and mail the defective one back to them.. love the joy xtra … good luck..

I can understand that for sure. Sometimes I think consumer needs aren't always clear until a product is out on the market for a while. This ultimately serves those who want something that does more than the Joy but don't necessarily need the robustness of the larger machines and the Joy Xtra definitely fills that gap.

They really do! It has been a while since I have crafted with one and I forgot how fun it was!
I have one of the first Cricut machines but I would like to update to a new one. I see everything that these new machines can do and I wish I could get one. However, they are a little bit over my budget. Is there any other way that I can purchase one without breaking the bank. How much did the Cricut Joy cost. I do alot of card making and poster making. That Cricut Joy would be perfect for what I need.
The Cricut Joy is the least expensive but doesn’t have all of the capabilities of this machine, the Cricut Joy Xtra. This one (the Xtra) is only $50 more than the small Joy and it was developed keeping people’s budgets in mind. So it’s way more robust in capabilities without the expense of the larger machines. I got my Joy Cricut for about a year and still in the box I tried to use once and was overwhelmed with it ,so put back in the box STILL IN THERE 😭 😮☹️🙈🙈🙈

Oh yes, I don't see why not, you may just need to use the mat. I was really impressed with the waterproof paper. My kids' bottles still have them on and they still look as good as new! I don't put them in the dishwasher though.

Oh my word, another one. LOL I love my Explore 2 and have to use it more often. I guess having a smaller one is great for small, quick items though. Thanks for sharing since I didn't even know Cricut came out with this. I saw they came out with the big one though.

How does this compare to the original Joy? Is it just larger but have all the same features? I love that you make it look so easy, but as someone who has never used any of these types of electronic machines, the project part that you have to do on the computer is the part that confuses and overwhelms me.
I don't have the Joy, but I will say it has a LOT more features than that one. The most exciting is the print then cut feature on the Xtra that the Joy doesn't have, plus the new paper DOES NOT get stuck in the printer (which used to happen to me all the time when I tried it with my bigger machine and original sticker paper) so that is a HUGE plus! And of course you can use this one to make larger patterns.
I’ve had my machine for months. I am so frustrated. I don’t think it gives enough directions. I hope I live long enough to use my cricut joy.
I am so sorry about that! I have quite a few Cricut tutorials on my channel on how to work Cricut Design Space and how to apply their many different types of materials onto products. Only inkjet at this time. I think it’s because most people have inkjets at home. Hope that helps!

Yami thank you for your honest review. I have been on the fence about this one. I have the Joy which my daughter is lusting over. lol I hate the color of it and she loves it. It just clashes with my craft room. Is this one completely white? My room was designed around my Anna Griffin machines (gold and cream, then I added black and white). So that teal. I got a message from HSN that they will have it around 9/7-9/9 (I don't remember the date) But that will make it easier to get. Good luck with the baby! I am so happy for your family.
LOL! Yeah I totally understand the color clash thing. Yes, it is completely white and it was designed that way for that reason.
What are the dimensions on this machine? Is it bigger than a manual die cutting machine like the BigShot?

WOW another machine. I have the Maker and the Joy. Now the Joy Extra. I have loved all my Cricut machine. I started with the Explorer. If you are new to Cricut just watch a bunch of TH-cam videos. Thanks for sharing the new Joy Extra.
