To lock properly, you need to move the side screws out. If necessary put something small in the hole so you have something the screw down to. Or even a small washer on the threaded section. This will then allow the locking mechanism to locate properly on the ball of the screw.
Looking wonderful! Question is with the gap how will that affect over the short/long timeline will ......and I was typing this comment right before the Lego crash.....again will the shelves hold up at this point? But dang they all look amazing. Your collection is so so fantastic. Boy did I hit the LLL - Lucky Lego Lottery - by finding Stud City!
hahahaha i bet you were shocked by how quick the crash came! Up until now, the shelves have held since so we are a green light for this method! I appreciate you BBB happy early christmas!
I spent $1094 on ikea bookcases 2 days ago. Also got the desk they have that raises so u can sit or stand. I’ll try to send u a pic when it’s done cuz the setup is not how many do it but u will see why I did it that way when done.
I personally hate these shelves. IMO eeriebody show case is starting to look the same. Displaying is a Art in its self. Also the amount of space the units take up is ridiculous. I went from 9 shelves to 3. So much more room for activities 😂

Still want the European billy bookcases that are 15 in deep. Would help a ton!
There is the video i was waiting for! Thank you for posting it. I will change it this holiday💪
Thanks for the update! I am planning on using the Billy bookcases specifically for my modulars, so this was perfect!

The ones I got a few months back have angled shelf supports so you’d have to replace them with dowels or pegs
The only disadvantage of the Billy bookshelf is the shelves keep sagging over time.
Mine are okay. How old are yours? They have improved the design over the years, so new ones may be better than old ones.

U should post it somewhere or something and reference where here lmao im tryna see what u did too
I would love to see it ! Please post!
Billy bookcases sag over time. I think a L bracket support under each shelf will help.
That is neat, but a lot of work. Mine have the doors and I do not think this would work...)
