The Troxhult shelves are solid but make sure you buy in pairs and compare the bend of the mounting bracket. I have one that is not like the other. Also due to the design there has to be a small gap between them.
I got myself the Platsa, put a door frame on it using spare wood. Painted it all matte black and with a piano hinge and a sheet of uv resistent and blocking plexiglass, my space shuttle Discovery looks fantastic on display.
I appreciated this but am disappointed you didn’t talk about IVAR. It comes in both 12 and 20 inch depth, and is very customizable. I picked up mine when they had corner shelves and absolutely love having my unit turn the corner.
I see alot of people using different trims on the front just to make it not look like ikea and a bit more less square edged..great video btw..a lot to think off 🤔
Yes i've seen people do that. It's something i've considered but never got around to trying. If you ever give it a go, let me know whether you thought it turned out well.
Absolutely, the Bestå range are much deeper. Not very tall though. However, if you want a low display or under table solution... Bestå is something to look at.
@@brickifybuilds Yes but you can easily stack them 3 high. And with the depth I am able to set a row of mils plated modulars and a row of mils road plates on the top. When placed flush with the doors, they over hang on the back by about 4" or 10cm. I like the Billy's. But the wood doors block a lot in the center. And just not deep enough for most of the sets I build. Great video by the way

You have my outmost respect for giving the Australian prices

Wow that sounds good. Would love to see that!
That's my local Ikea store :-) Thanks for all tips. Need them since I have to rebuild my Lego room
Hi neighbour! Good luck building your new room.

You're right the IVAR is a good system. I know Solid Brix Studios uses them. Definitely should have added these to the video. Thanks for the heads up
Nice video mate….. I have the UCS Falcon on my 58cm depth Pax. 100cm wide unit. Had it displayed horizontal and vertical using the stand.
Sticking the Falcon on a stand and on a PAX is a quality way to display it.
For light you can buy the kolvatten led lights, they are battery powered and can be charged with usb-c
Good to know. I must have missed them. That's definitely useful information for the viewers. Thanks Raymon!
I’m curious what you think about the Havsta? All wood, very customizable
Absolutely! Very nice units, but a tad more expensive than other Ikea offerings. Thanks for the question though.
If you have smaller builds you wanna put on display IKEA released Wall-mounted display cabinet from "Brännboll collection"
Good to know!
Good suggestion 👍

@brickifybuilds I'm thinking of it in the future just need to push myself
lol I can completely relate to that
You didnt mention the Besta. They are much deeper than the Billy.
