60,000lb in a 20' container rollover!

- 60,000lb in a 20' container rollover! I will repeat this until I stop towing, but these 20' containers are always more packed and heavy than 40' containers! I really don't understand why, but every time I see a 20' container rollover I assume 40,000lbs and up. I completely overestimated this one though and thought it would be at most 45,000lbs, and I was so wrong.
You can see the weight more than more videos on this one just by how the trucks react. Hulk and Flipper man handle big containers all the time with ease, but even a loaded 40' container will be at max 50,000lbs. Such a heavy load in a small concentrated can was tricky but we got the job done quick. Not sure of the cause but you can see the axle and leaf springs broken completely when Alex first shows up, which meant the container had to be removed after.
Rudy was brought in with a Landoll for that part, while Enrique towed out the tractor and chassis after tire service helped get it tow worthy. All that was going on while Hulk, my 50ton rotator and Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator, worked some tough magic on the container. I kept this one very long to show you even with a complicated job, we can adapt and still work it blazing fast to open up the freeway like nothing happened.
Many thanks to everyone on scene including my dad who is still the best in the biz. What did you guys think of this one? And be sure to head over to www.pepestowla.com/shop after the video and grab the new 2024 Pepe's calendar before it's sold out!

Excellent video production. The insert explaining the process answered my question about dragging. Maybe someday in the future you can explain the technology in your office - this is magic to many of us.
Oh man I would LOVE to do a video on my office. If enough people are interested why not
Do it
Yes an office video would be great
Office video would be good.
@@PepesTowingService Your office looks like NASA HQ Josh.
Caltrans worker here location Long Beach thanks for your great work 🫡
I bet Caltrans and CHP are always happy to see a Pepe's unit pull up. They are guaranteed the job will be done skillfully, quickly and with a sense of urgency.
Absolutely
Do those cops look like they have a sense of urgency to you?😅
@@doak4886they are hoping to ride this out until the end of their shift…
What does a job like this cost?
@@JimJCJimbo couple thousand dollars, all covered through insurance
The fact that boss man Joe consults with Alex about the plan, tells him he did an excellent job to tie those axles, shows the professionalism of this company from the top down. Great job even pushing the limits yet staying safe. Well done PePe's crew
I'm an ex firefighter over the pond in Wales UK. Came across your channel a few weeks ago and I'm binge watching the back catalogue. I've also got a mechanical background so I really appreciate those rotators. Awesome bits of kit. Great videos guys, really enjoy them. If ever I get to LA gonna look you guys up for sure.
thanks very much
I’m also binge watching the show old videos, usually at 2.30am after work lol
I found this channel & enjoy watching all the rescues lol I've drove those streets highways and see my fears in reality rollovers and crashes I'm blessed I've never been in those incidents..I've always been the designated driver.. keep up the good work. .
Mega props to you for being the DD!
Crazy heavy! The Landoll's tires were not happy! Another great recovery guys, always nice to see Josh's Dad 💪🏼
I love your Dad! Working with my Dad was always a challenge, but I miss him so much. Cherish these moments as well as all the others.
You guys are a super well oiled machine, work really great together . The Boss is still a beast and a great source of knowledge. Stay Safe Guys!!!
Watching this and previous videos with the owner, the dynamics between Alex and him are great. He likes and respects you😊
100% we all operate like a super funny family
Your dad seems like the type of owner/bosses that I love working for - demands good work, keeps it lighthearted, shares his knowledge, gives kudos, and isn’t afraid to pick up a broom and help.
Awesome work by Pepe’s crew once again! Keep up the great work Josh and Alex
Buenas noches, que gran trabajo en equipo, todo bien calculado, un trabajo de ingenieros, das gusto veros , y de buen royo , como siempre, enhorabuena, 👏💪👍🖐️🇪🇦🇪🇦❤
Happy New year to the Pepe's Towing Crew, hope 2024 carries the team and their families well.
I never cease to be amazed watching these videos. Been driving a long time but had no idea what was involved to deal with these accidents. My hat is off to all of the guys who do this difficult and dangerous work
Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Glad to see your Dad out with you guys. ❤
Dad"I hate this phone"😂. Very entertaining watching y'all going back and forth. Another Awesome job
Its really great to see your dad again, and he's representing Pepe's right in high vis! I love how he gave his approval for Alex's axle chaining work, I celebrated with a WOOT WOOT! HAHA Ohhhh Alyx, your so freaking funny. Joe gets his truck so close to the other truck, he's about to kiss his outrigger into the casualties wheels. Alyx says thank you my love, as Joe BEEP BEEP backs the truck up, Alyx is here to stay baby LMAO! Hey, look at that container, pop goes the weazle HAHA! Hey my man, you should keep all the behind the scenes jokes in your video's, I freaking love them, making me laugh so hard over here, love it! Another great job here too!
I give you a tremendous amount of respect for how you try to open up lanes! Anyone who has been locked up in traffic over an accident will, too.👍
After you drug the container over to open up additional lane, they never did open up any more lanes...
Great job guys, you guys have all the cool toys.
Great crew, a family of experience
Unbelievable the outfit that loaded that box was certainly asleep at the switch! You're recovery Pepe TEAM is REALLY as @politcaloptics stated Excellent as shown in your Video production!!
Impressive to see Big Flipper not caring about working this wreck on the front corner 👍
A little more on opening lanes: The location of this video carries almost 10,000 vehicles per hour. For those not experienced in L.A. traffic, this is hard to grasp. Friends of mine elsewhere are scared to drive on highways that have never been as busy as L.A.’s lightest times.
Good point. It's very hard for people in rural areas or small cities to comprehend. I'm so used to it but besides being one of the largest cities in the entire country our traffic volume is top 3 on any list you'll find
A real spin out when Alex was up on the container moving left/right 😂 Great job team, can't believe how hard they pack those 20 footers, then fudge the manifests.
Used to get pissed at how slow these guys moved until I read how nearly every container leaving port is completely overloaded.
appreciate the comments about the technical and safety stuff. what many forget is with lane closure the risk of secondary accidents also increases greatly.
Maybe so , but when the lane was cleared by dragging trailer out of lane , the cleared lane wasn’t reopened, so that was totally dumb !!!
@@WestsideCritters it removed the probability of someone hitting the trailer from the open lane though. It was pretty close before they moved it.
Sweet video as always. You crushed the job and the editing per usual. I liked seeing the kinda funny moments from you and alex. Stay safe and thanks for posting !
Josh Alex and DAD great video with a bit of jabbing back and forth, very entertaining! Awesome work on a busy freeway! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Thanx for explaining Josh! Good to see Dad on the job.
My previous job, we designed and have things built in China and shipped to us here in the states by ship. The equipment was always loaded into 20 foot shipping containers and the weight was supposed to stay within 30K. The container would be packed from end to end and about three foot tall with crates packed solid with metal goods. One good size machine tool can fill a 20 foot container and weigh upwards toward 40K. You never know what gets packed into one until a episode like this comes up. Thanks for sharing, Ken
No entienden estos chamacos! El jefe ya se molesto. Lol always fun working with pops even tho he might be wrong sometimes he still wants it his way. Saludos compas!
Saludos camarada
Love the family dynamic!
Y’all’s trucks are always clean 🔥
A lot of pride........and work!!
You guys are the real deal. Always a great day when I see your dad on the job. It's amazing to see the teamwork and how you guys interact. Thank you.
What a brilliant video team work Josh Alex and the king , no one under pressure claim and got the job done 👏👏👏👏
Another great recovery keep up the amazing work Pepe' s towing stay safe 🙏💯✌️
amazing peice of equipment and it is wonderful to watch a master at work. This guy is a Jedi Knight. Inspiring.
My favorite TH-cam channel 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The two more likable characters to hear and watch, explaining how the job goes and North Philly likes to watch, missing Joe a lot😊😂
It's cool to see how well you guys work together, and how each knows to keep the job going, even if it's not their truck/equipment.
Also: I got a good chuckle out of Alex asking, "What color?" instead of what flavor, and the boss says, "Blue"!
Are used to watch a tow truck show on Netflix. It was based out of Toronto and it was heavy. Tow trucks like you have and it’s just amazing the kind of work you guys do congratulations and thanks for keeping our highway safe. Keep up the good work I myself wanted to be a truck driver when I grew up but unfortunately, I have a mild case of epilepsy so I did not even take a chance to get my drivers license. I wanted to have my own trucking go everywhere I can know I’m just amazed at the kind of work you guys do. Thanks again.
Cool video Josh. Great explanation too. Would love to know more about Pepe’s as a whole. Excellent execution of the drag and uprighting. Top stuff!
Great heavy lift! LA is lucky to have you guys!
Happy new year to you all, just like to say hulk is definitely taking the strain on that one I have never seen one of your recovery’s when hulk is leaning so much that the outrigger is lifting on the opposite side😮
Great job Papa Pepe, Alex, Josh and Enrique.
I am so happy to see Pepe's notification when I wake up in the morning Awesome job
I like the way everything is neatly put away after each job, especially up top around the rotator where nothing will bind up. You have a great crew Sr. God bless you all. 🙏
Josh...that was an interesting pop up you added in the video from your editing office. Thanks for doing it.
I think you and your company do a great job. Great videos, every one.
Pops had his own idea of how to get the job done 😳🤷🏻♂️😉 he has his reasons plus the new got him started I hate this new phone lol. We love y’all thanks for sharing your story of PEPE’S towing !
Champion content as always gentlemen!!👏👏
Brilliant rescue
This is so fascinating to watch!! Please keep this up!
Great video!! I think Hulk and Flipper should get some kind of "combat" pay or something. You guys always have such a great attitude and it sure showsnin your work.😊
Strange how those little guys always seem to get loaded crazy heavy. Bringing out the big guns to get it done. Nice work as always the Pepe's way.
awesome video. thanks for all the explaining you did. ridiculous how they get away with hauling containers that heavy
A Great job as usual! Love the insert. Good idea
Hey Josh it's Always nice to have pops on the Job great job
It is absolutely incredible how sarong a rotator is I have watched these type of videos for years and understand a ;ot onthow this works . Great Job Pepe's
Wow that thing is heavy stay safe out there. Thanks guys.
Keep up with the good work love watching you on TH-cam god bless
I grew up in SoCal and now live in NorCal. I'm a contractor and all I can say is, being able to wear shorts on the job is a GAME CHANGER. You gonna work with your hands and on your feet all day, why not be comfortable so you can perform better and not be effing miserable. Lol that's all I have to comment on 😅
I liked all the laughter! I especially like Alex’s laugh, for some reason it makes me feel good. You all seemed to be in a giggly mood. Even Papa was in a good mood, he didn’t yell once. Is the flyover above you being used? I never saw any traffic on it. Love from an old lady on the west coast of Canada. 🇨🇦
Lots of guidance from Dad!!!!! Love it!
With your Dad sweeping up it is not just a new brush that sweeps clean but also an old one !
You guys always crack me up. I hope my comments won’t offend you Josh but remember Dad is still the boss even when it’s hard to agree with his orders. Yes the new generation “you and Alex” may see an easier way just have patience with your dad because he’s just trying to do what he thinks is best and the weight does end up on his shoulders. One day you will be the Dad and your kids will roll their eyes at things you say and do. But in the end you folks are family and you can see the love. Hey if he does like the new iPhone then give him what he likes or give him time. lol. I am 65 and I just got a new iPhone 15 pro max as well and it is a learning curve for us old dinosaurs.
Thank you again for the videos. I do enjoy watching.
This T-Rex appreciates those words of wisdom
@@JoseAcosta-hr9js hey there Mr Acosta. I enjoy watching you work at the scene. Your passion is amazing and addictive but never forget that our kids are amazing and smarter than we old dinosaurs want to admit. lol. Because there is nothing harder than letting go of the damn reins. But when us dinosaurs do let go those young men and women we call our kids to include “Alex” even though he may not be a blood relative but you probably see him as yours as well Lol. Well they will always bring you as their mentor and teacher more pride than anyone can ever express. So enjoy standing back sometimes and watch them create magic and then remember that they got what they got because of your hard work and dedication to Pepe’s but never forget your Papa and Mama and the times you probably rolled your eyes at the things they said until they caught you and whacked you with the proverbial old shoe. lol. Happy new year and many blessings to you folks from this old dinosaur as well. Aloha

Another awesome video! ❤
Thanks for the info.
Nice! Fun to watch the whole crew pitch in and have fun doing it.
Another 1 owned love the long videos.stay safe bro
Hey Josh I love the videos with ur in them.he seems like a Kool guy. The boss just don't piss him off right ! Lol
I'm 1:43 into the video. Stopped to say, Ioved the 'break-in' to explain several of the why's behind how you operate. Often times these explanations in the field don't come across due to the intensity of the situation; taking time to explain in a calm/safe environment should really help the viewer learn.
Pops always keeps the Pepe's Crew straight Nice Job Guys !
Hi Josh! I wonder if the container was on the front end of the trailer instead of it being at the rear if that would help stabilize the loads better.... But, it is hard to adjust for over-loaded containers and drivers who are in a hurry.. Good work! I enjoy watching your crew... Ron
I just love her and that Debby shows up on the scene. He makes me laugh. Good job.
Hello good morning, today is the third day that I have watched your videos, they are very good, I liked them, I am from Brazil🇧🇷 may God bless you and your team 🙏🏻
Josh another great recovery as always hope that everyone at Pepe’s has a safe year
Alex's "What happened" is the best.
Man I’m so glad that I was to able find your channel I’m tired of all the crap on Netflix Amazon tv , Apple TV and so on, I really like your videos specially because I live in Southern California, sorry about my grammar English is not my first language.
That was a good one
Pop's dreamed about these days, love to see it! Great work gents!
I'm sure people like working with your dad (as well as with you). Rather than barking out orders, he works with the employees. I noticed him say "if it's okay with you" when talking about handling the recovery around the 9:50 mark. His "thank you, that's beautiful work" was nice to hear at around 17:40. I've seen that way of dealing with things many times when he's been in one of your videos.
You guys are frickin Artists.....it is a pleasure to watch yall work.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate these videos. A good antidote to an otherwise crappy day. Oddly, I was just wondering why you Dad had not shown up lately and there he was.
Es un gran placer ver a ti mijo y a tu papa. Los amo bendiciones de tu abuela.
Your daddy knows his stuff!!! Enjoy watching from central Florida!!!
The best towing is pepe's towing is Josh and Alex
The camera work was crystal clear after you lifted the container off the trailer. Nice.
Love these videos. Can’t stop watching
Good to see the big dawg on the scene. Your dad gives credit where it due
Excellent job done by all thank you all!
Great job men..Get er done.....
Awesome job guys
Keep up the good work Stay safe out there
Good video. You guys work together well. Working in traffic is dangerous stuff. I had my share of it.
Mr Josh and Alex That was heavy container. Awesome video and thanks for sharing. Stay safe
Amazing, just amazing. I always wondered if that was your dad, Josh. He's been around the block a few times with his knowledge of the job. This was another mess and on top of it all, an overweight container to make it all the dangerous. Great job all.
Another great job. Good to see the boss out and about.
I'm also a tow operator. We just do medium duty tows. I love watching your videos and always amazed by what yall l heavy haulers have to deal with.
Good job Shredder!
Another awesome job as always you guys are the best
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
Too much traffic but you guys aced it!
