Imagine the road being fixed and street lights all over
That is a not a good idea at all !!!
Lights and light pollution have an extreme adverse effect on nature. Absence of artificial light also means at night you will get the chance to see the sky littered with stars a sight to behold.
Nor is this about roads, in fact there should be no roads in the the forest. It should be as untouched and natural as possible.
It is clear most of us dont know what we have, dont value and dont know how to promote it or even understand what is before us that is a big tragedy.
The attraction of the place is that it is untouched, its incredible biodiversity it has the greatest biodiversity in the whole of Ghana. The opportunity of new species being discovered. Preservation of those that do occur like the picathartes, chimpanzee, forest elephants, leopards and white breasted guinea fowl.
Poor education has meant we cant appreciate, protect or reap the benefits of this unique place that may hold cures to diseases and provide solutions to other challenges.
To start with we need to appreciate this place for what it is, not ruin it.
It is not roads, the problem is apathy and not understanding what this place is and holds for us. Also a total lack of innovation.
Have you ever seen this place being promoted by the tourism board.
Chimpanzees, forest elephants, leopards, white breasted guinea fowls and the picathartes are all said to exist in this forest. When i visited there a few days before the guide had seen leopard tracks. Its biodiversity surpasses any other forest in Ghana and is amongst the greatest in the world.
There is potential for advances in medicine and other applications of plant species. There are probably endemic and unknown species in this forest.
It doesnt need roads but a buffer zone to prevent encroachment. If you want to get there they need to be innovative not destructive.
This forest needs to be protected at all costs
