I'm from Indiana but I lived in Encinitas for 6 weeks for an internship just out of college and learned it was part of my soul. Haven't been back since 2018 but fingers crossed for a visit very soon

That school near downtown Encinitas is Pacific View. My elder son was fortunate to attend when it was 5th and 6th grade only, but the school district sold the site to the city a few years after he graduated. It is now a struggling city asset -- lots of plans, no funding to make any of them reality.
The biggest concern coastal locals have right now is that big money developers and the San Diego Association of Governments want to convert this entire area in to a high-density stack-and-pack "Mobility Hub," which will defoliate and overcrowd the neighborhoods while eliminating single family homes and other low-rise, lower-density residential structures.

Was wondering that the deal was with Pacific View. Amazing location, too bad it closed. Tons of development happening all over. I hope it doesn't turn into a "high-density stack-and-pack Mobility Hub", that would be a massive loss. Thank you for watching John.

@@wesleyguest Believe me, residents are fighting against the state and county for local control over development. If you can't control that, why have a city?

A lot of the older homes on the cliff fell into the ocean.

Wow! I knew the bluff collapsed. Houses fell as well? What year?

Encinitas is the polar opposite of 122nd ave in Portland. Nice to be able to afford to live in a good place.

I've lived in Encinitas for 10 years. Other than being ridiculously expensive, it is the most perfect town I've ever lived in. Perfect weather, beautiful beaches, extremely low crime, the culture is really artsy and almost spiritually influenced like Sedona in some pockets, nearby hiking trails, big hills with epic overlooks, large sea cliffs, tons of green yards and plants, tons of restaurants, way less traffic than downtown San Diego, and it borders Rancho Santa Fe which offers some nearby rural drives through zillion dollar 30 acre estates. Encinitas is a nicer place to live than 99% of places in the United States. Unreal.

Oh man. Since you stuck to old Encinitas in this video, I can't believe that you missed the Self Realization Fellowship and their gardens. What a beautiful little spot. They have recently reopened to the public. Their gardens overlook the ocean on top of the bluff. It was right next door to Swami's Beach.

Used to be such a quiet little sleeper town with a chill vibe, now it's all greede yuppies. all the little shops that used to be here are gone driven out by greedy property owners who raised the lease rent or just kicked businesses out of their locations after being there for decades.

Great video! Any particular beaches you would recommend in the San Diego area that look like the beaches in Laguna? Thank you!

    • @wesleyguest
      @wesleyguest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

As far as Laguna cliffs, sunset cliffs is pretty similar. You don't have all the shops and commerce there that Laguna does though. Along Bird Rock and Wind N Sea and in into the Village in La Jolla is probably the closest I can think of off hand. Janet F Thank you for watching! 👌

I have lived in Luecadia for 45 years, Encinitas is a great place, not one of the top ten surfing spots in the world, just sayin', great surf, not top ten in the world. Stop the music that ruins your video.

Poor man! It's a Real tragedy that you were Not learned in school how to talk slowly and clearly. You speed up like a machine gun!! So to listening to you is
totally frustrating, Despite the georgeous Spot there!!!

Your impressive sentence construction, grammatical genius, and way with words made me think of an old quote: "People who live in glass houses should not throw stones".

The only “frustrating real tragedy” here is that it seems Antonio was never “learned in school 🤣” the age old saying “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

I moved from Bellevue Washington I’m a waiter/deliver driver I do both. In Bellevue Washington I made ten k a month in California I make 6k. You guys are NOT RICH. If you spend ten million on a home and have ten bucks left that means your house broke. Your fake rich. You pretend to have status but you have zero. In Bellevue they had status. They had the car, the house, they tipped fat. Big house in California means 2 bucks if I’m lucky 😂
