- Welcome to our suite tour of Holland America's Koningsdam Vista Suite room type.
Our suite tour (+ a full ship tour/walkthrough & 4-part Vlog series) was filmed over 7 nights during our cruise aboard Holland America Koningsdam, r/t San Diego, California, in November 2022.
The associated Vlog series documents San Diego (where we show the waterfront boarding process); Santa Catalina Island (where we tour the 1929 Catalina Casino and walk through the artistic town of Avalon); Santa Barbara (where we visit the Santa Barbara Historical Museum) & San Francisco (where, with an overnight stay, we sail under the Golden Gate Bridge, visit the Exploratorium, Vista Point (stunning GG Bridge viewpoint), and Twin Peaks (for wide-angle viewing overlooking the city).

We were in an identical Vista Suite last month on Nieuw Statendam - this brought back nice memories of that cruise!
Thank you, guys! Did you happen to do a tour of that? I would love to see it.
Thank you for watching 😊
By the way, you now have a fifth subscriber 😘 keep plugging away with good content!
@@InnocentsAbroad We haven’t really ventured into TH-cam videos yet, but we actually posted our review on Instagram today. The physical space was identical to your cabin.
A very nice suite. Nicely decorated and pleasing to the eye. Love the view from the balcony
Thank you, Arthur. It sure had a good amount of storage room!
That balcony view- it's Catalina Island, and appears in full in 'Ep 2' (Dec 16).
Awesome video.. thanks for the suite tour.
You’re very welcome, thank you for the kind words and for watching.
Like the amount of storage. And that the closet had illumination, don't remember if our cabin closet had that when we were on the Niew Amsterdam.🤣
It did indeed have that going for it - a ton of storage! Thank you for watching, Susan :)
A great suite tour Bob. Agree with your on the design aspects - storage and glass shower enclosure ✅✅ Position of sofa/tv ❌‼️⁉️ I mean I don’t cruise to watch TV but would be incredibly annoying if catching up with the news or something during the day to have to sit on the bed. I could also see myself tripping over that table by the sofa at some point 😂
Thanks, Pete! It’s a good room, which is essentially a mini suite without perks. She’s such an odd duck of design with the television.
Hi Bob it looks comparable with a Princess mini suite. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the queen Anne
I agree with you 100%; definitely a mini suite more than a full suite.
Looking forward to coverage from you and others on QA when that ship finally puts to sea!
Thank you for watching .
Thanks for the tour we are doing our first cruise on Holland America Koningsdam this summer. New subscribers and supporters of your channel!. Nice video!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, but also, thank you for taking the time to comment. Koningsdam is lovely, I think you’re going to have a great time 😊
@@InnocentsAbroad Yes we will we are looking forward to it. Hope to get more ideas from you for our vlogs!
Really nice video tour. This suite looks almost identical to the size of a veranda cabin on HAL. Did you feel that it was a lot larger? We were upgraded to a Vista Suite (for free) from a veranda, for our upcoming Norway cruise and we are excited to see what a Vista Suite has to offer. As for the position of the couch and the tv... can you pull the tv out on it's mount and tilt it toward the couch for a better view? I agree, it is definitely not an optimal placement. Thanks for sharing your video.
Also curious as to whether HAL gives you "double" mariner points for being in a suite? You mentioned that you don't get any of the other suite perks.
@@harbourcolour Hi Laurie, thank you, we try to do quality in all our videos 😊 glad you liked it!
The Vista suite is a little bit bigger than a standard veranda, and the perks you get with it are just cabin location, sodas of choice in the fridge, and a “pillow menu”.
Club Orange is not automatically included, and neither are double mariner points.
Unfortunately, no, the television to my recollection did not pull out more than about 3 inches, you can angle it, but in my opinion made absolutely no appreciable difference. Getting a vista suite basically get you a really good location on the ship and a little bit more elbow room. In the future, I will either get a regular veranda, or get a signature suite.
Thank you for watching!
@@InnocentsAbroad thank you! That's pretty much what I thought. It will be fun to try the Vista Suite as an upgrade :)
