Your room is looking nice! Good call on putting up the number grid in rows of ten. Don't stress about everything matching and being perfect. Cute is fun, but you'll find that function for you and your students is the most important thing once there are actually kids in the room. Even though it's been many years, I remember the excitement of being a first year teacher like it was yesterday. You're going to learn just as much as your students this year as you figure things out. I hope you enjoy the journey! :-)
It doesnt matter what the sound wall looks like. My classroom was matchy my first year. Since then, i have collected and invested in resources aligned with my practices and trainings and none of it matches anymore. And it doesnt matter because they learn so much more now!
definitely do a sound wall over a word wall for the kinders. The sound wall is meaningful and aligned with science of reading practices. I am in 5th and I purchased an upper elementary sound wall. It does not match my theme but that is as not important as actually having it!
I used to have a small word wall space and what I used to do was put a command hook under each letter, whole punch/laminate each word, and hang them all up on the hook using a book binder ring.
You don't need a word wall. (I do understand that you might be required to by your system.) But, they aren't effective and aren't needed, especially in Kindergarten. You don't want kids to memorize words based on their shape, which is what they will do if you are trying to teach them words before they have letter-sound correspondence and are able to begin decoding. :)
There's 2 neutral sound walls that I'm looking to buy for my kinder room. One is Miss Jacob's Little Learner's Boho Neutral. The other is Putting Them First Neutral Boho. 😊
Hey there 🙋🏻♀️ I’m curious, what state are you in and what is the average temperature? I’m in Texas and our temps range from 100- 104 daily. Our classrooms do not have windows that open and the air is not on. It’s hot!! 😅
Thanks for the videos, I enjoy them. I find your voice is too soft, like a whisper, speak louder please. Your music volume is fine. My grandkids love magna tiles, I bet your students will too.

You can put the alphabet letters on that tiny long bulletin board on the front just for extra alphabet reinforcement if you do get the sound wall.

If you’re allowed to use hot glue it’s really good for putting things up on the doors and cinder block walls. It’s easy to remove too.

When I did behavior systems, I did whole group and individual too.
Hope you are loving new teacher orientation! Loving the videos. The classroom is really coming together.
Why are you choosing word wall vs sound wall? Sound walls are highly effective when teaching kinders to read.
Hi I think you will be a amazing teacher I think the kids will love you

YAY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! I’ll be a first year first grade teacher this fall!

Don’t get too caught up in everything matching, I get it, you want it to be cute. But it needs to be functional and accessible to your students.
Put the words box and fox under “X” on word wall.
you probably put it in backwards

It's probably a matter of getting a better microphone and/ or adjusting the sound levels in editing
Love your content but you speak so softly and the background noise is louder than you
I like the content of your vlogs, but it seems like you are whispering? It's really hard to hear you.😢
