Yeah, I think Takei wanted to avoid unoriginality by making new shamanic concepts to play around with, so that Hana's journey is different from Yoh's. But he did say that his ideas weren't the best at the time of writing flowers, but in superstar he goes crazyy, does stuff we've never seen before, completely new concepts.
Same production values aside, I'm really liking Flowers so far. The benefit of adapting the sequel manga is that it can be paced better since it doesn't feel like they need to rush through stuff we already saw before.
Honestly the production is better. I'd say the amount of animation has doubled and every episode has been polished. Ep 10 unexpectedly being very very nice.
its because we already "seen" it with older animation. although they alter the story. so we already expecting things. for flowers we seen it as a new show. like when we going place and come back from the journey. going back will feel faster even thoug wo go through same road range....
Still, Hana is getting Most serious and breakdown character likes of Shinji Ikari. But to me, Hana doesn't give a damn about being hero. Truly he's more Mean than ever.
Shaman king Flowers, Id suggest watching shaman king first 2001 version till like eipsode 30 or the start of America arc then go watch the 2021 reboot and then this one called shaman king flowers 2024 that is ongoing. Just my opinion.
