@@QueenslandTrainVideos 1500 to 2000 tonnes would be nothing! At a guess you're looking at around 100 tonnes gross per hopper wagon, and upwards of 4000 HP per loco. I don't know how many wagons in total are on these trains, but I'm guessing at around 100. The positioning of the locos is to distribute the power through the train, instead of having all of it on the front. QR have always done this, ever since they started mass coal hauling in the 70s.
However heavy are those trains 🚆 and why do tgey require 2 locomotives instead of 1
