Oh yes, I loved that. I thought the brainwashed Glohm effect would also work in normal battles where one brother wants to attack or heal the other and the other has a ignoring turn away animation instead of the normal idle animation. Sadly there isn't a battle ring in the game🙁
I honestly found the fakeout in the Ten boss fight to be hilarious in retrospect. I was like "i gotta fight him again?! after i just finished fight him?" before Ten just decides to peace out after turn 2
Reclusa is my new favorite Mario villain and he is my favorite final boss of all time, while Brothership is my new favorite game of all time! I'm glad I'm not the only one who really really likes Reclusa as a character and as a final boss! :)
I really love this! Recluse is certainly up there for me to. Especially the scene towards the end with Peaches castle. I was questioning what the heck I was playing. A great villain. I do wish a couple more of the bosses had some more personality though. But they’re all really good
I definitely enjoyed all the bossfights in this game, they feel very dynamic and challenging specially if you havent watched any insights on the bossfights (zokket, bowser, reclusa and the extension corps killed me a few times) I just wish we got x battles apart from the glohm versions, would’ve made for a greater experience!
Honestly the smaller boss roster In this game makes these bosses feel more memorable, like also the Luigi Logic mechanic really makes these bosses stand out. I think that’s why there are less of them because they really wanted to craft good bosses and mechanics that adding more would’ve taken a while, plus they’d have to have a story reason. So yeah I do wish there were more bosses but I understand why the roster is smaller this time.
Yea but there is so much down time between bosses and like while I love them, the 3 lighthouse bosses have a really uninspired design. You even have "recycled" boss with solo Ten and Bowser.
Honestly the Extension Corps were really underwhelming a combatants. I really think they should have given each member their own unique battle before just throwing all three of them into a single endgame encounter. The fact that you only fight Ten really early on before not fighting any of them again until the battle at Zokket Fortress kinda sucks
As much as I like that all the bosses have some connection to the main plot, I wish there were some one-off fights. Ones like Trunkle, Ms. Thwomp, Junker, and Torkscrew that you have to fight just because they’re in your way.
For Mega Snaptor, i have come to love how, it might be one of the first cases to get a game over if you let it get back up. The reason being simply because its new attack is devastating, but helps show the idea that you can try and damage it before it can get up by more plugs are getting better in reacting
Literally every boss is my favorite. I mean, I guess the second Ten fight is not my favorite, but that's because it's a tutorial. Other than that, all of them are fantastic!
8:54 Bowser's surprisingly deff the most Jank boss in brothership, cuz of 2 reasons: 1. his Fire Breath during the solo attacks hits way before the visual, so gotta jump a bit earlier, ie when his mouth opens 2. his army of minions attack, which I can confirm its rng if it'll happen or not alongside a bit of rng as to which minions show up in which lane. the worst is when/if both a Deliberately slow Spiny(this deff throws people off, they can go extremely slow) and a Bob-omb show up in the same lane. its a situation where the attack is technically unavoidable, unless you could jump right when spiny's about to make contact and hopefully clear the bob-omb.
Great point! I still enjoyed the boss fight and struggled a bit during it at some points. I really need to replay the game to see if my opinion on that changes. Wish they had a boss rush mode
@@Swiftjar for sure! also weirdly, Glohm Bowser actually becomes easier if you just don't use the luigi logic the 2nd time, as he never goes into his enraged mode otherwise. and the shy guy airship actually helps a lot w/the damage I can also confirm the hardest way to play the M&L games is deff a minimum level, as well as banning bros attacks or mechanic specific things like badges/plugs, cept where its required for example, like the goomba+Koopa wave, where bros attacks, items and plugs are deff required there. for brothership one of the harder challenges is deff a no gear(this includes the run-down Boots+Hammer, unequip those right after the snoutlet tutorial that lets access gear.), no bros attacks and technically no plugs run Plugs I'd say the healing plugs+Not Droppin should deff be banned. as attack plugs are hard-required for Sharp-Cask+Glohm Sharp-Cask and also don't do much due to how it scales off the bros's own stats+level+gear relative to enemy level. if an attack plug were allowed in a no plug run, I'd deff say Attack boost could be legal, since its literally the equivalent of 1 extra, weak Jump/Hammer attack, and has no boost to it. effectively its a master boots x3 Jump from previous games but weaker and limited. surprisingly I can absolutely confirm its possible to beat a majority, if not all of Brothership's bosses+Glohm rematches Jump/Hammer only w/absolutely no gear(includes run-down boots/hammer) equipped and allowin plugs, in a normal leveled playthrough. Glohm Sharp-Cask I will say will take exactly 1-2 hours minimum to beat this way all for 4k exp 💀 cuz attack boost+Double spike ball's hard required for it and it can heal up to 840-1060hp(happened once to me) cuz of how brothership has paper jam's speed stat mechanic where the speed and "turns" order is very screwed up as Glohm bosses go 2-5 times for every one of the bros turns, w/Glohm Gobblick most deff being the most likely to get 3 turns in a row before Weegee even gets to move (I can confirm this's true cuz I was 8 levels under) 💀 Minimum level deff remains to be seen if its possible, but I deff know plugs are hard-required and Normal Sharp-cask could be a problem. Glohm bosses are deff being forced, and the save must be reset after winning. they're the true test of minimum level and I know for certain 3 of the 4 are deff possible. Glohm Sharp-Cask, the 2nd of the 4, looks impossible minimum level, but it seems it doesn't heal that frequently, only after some damage threshold. and it abandons healing completely when enraged🤔
I know it’s off topic but, it’s kind of a shame that there wasn’t a Wiggler fight, and kind of a shocker too. Maybe a Wiggler-LIKE, called “Terrorpillar” or “Connectopillar” or something
Hi Swiftjar I have a video idea! When I visited Berlin, I was curious about all the references in Berlin Byways and wanted to visit those locations in real life. I think you can already guess what kind of video idea I have in mind. Maybe you could create a guide showing the optimal route to visit all the city courses from the game. You could highlight the references, explain their significance, and show the routes we’d need to take to see them in real life. Does that make sense?
umm NO way gorumbla is better than bowser. gorumbla is easily the 2nd worst just above the great conductor, likely you only put him high since he's the first boss, and since brothership has amazing boss fights, it sticks in your mind more
Me personally if I could add one more boss it’d be the fake princess peach. Like if you choose to leave the mushroom kingdom she would stop them and fight them with glitchy attacks and using bowsers minions and toads. I think it’d be kinda cool and I was kinda expecting a fight in the fake mushroom kingdom floor of the soli-tree.
My favourite boss fight is the one that posed the hardest challenge for me personally. And that one was without question Base form Bowser. I lost and got a game over again him like 7 or 8 times. the only enemy in the game (save for the sharks) that gave me more than 1 game over.
@@babymariochannel8087 Second form seemed a lot easier as his attack patterns were much easier to learn and counter. Still enjoyed both fights greatly though.
1. Extension Corps 2. Zokket 3. Pipegunk 4. Sharpcask 5. Glohm Bowser 6. Bowser 7. Gobblick 8. Reclusa 9. Mega Snaptor 10. Great Conductor 11. Ten 12. Goroulia Maybe my characters were too strong at that point but the Reclusa fight just felt lackluster for me. Yes you have a lot of phases but none of them felt really interesting nor difficult for me. I also feel like it ended too quickly. I had the same problem with Zokket were I feel like I killed it way too quickly despite dodging almost nothing. But despite that I know Zokket is cool because it's attacks were interesting and there was even a cool moment with one of the bros getting manipulated. Wish we could have an Arena with boosted version of the bosses so I could try an harder Zokket and Reclusa but it's sadly not there.
The only thing was reclusa's music during the battle, it really never felt like insanity listening while fighting, they could have done so much better at this 50 hour finale with the music, jsut not the most memorable say like In The Final
The Extension Corps are very clearly inspired by the BFFs from Bowser Junior’s journey. They’re just kind of worse versions of them. They’re not awful. I just prefer the BFFs. Also man they really dropped the ball with the final boss theme in this game. Every other game in the series has an amazing final boss theme but Brotherships is just eh
I honestly don't think the Shadow Queen from TTYD is all that great. Compared to at least 3 other Paper Mario games, one of which being from the "modern" trilogy. Still, I loved Brothership. So much so that I actually want to replay the game a second time and do a challenge run of it.
Glohm Pipegunk was the hardest fight overall for me. The slingshot attack in purple form is way too fast, I don't think you can react to it consistently. The fireball attack that burns the floor was really annoying too, you barely get any time to realize which attack is happening before the fireball comes out.
Hey you know how you know that the final boss is going to be very hard it's when a character tells or ask are your sure your it's like Nintendo word for you seriously sure your ready once you through here there's no turning back. Cause I worried that if you died you start right at the start of the final boss chasing reclusa but luckly you start bakc at the core but it's because that boss is frustrating on analyzing attacks and shielding reclusa even after breaking it.

I'm surprised you didn't mention how zokket can turn one of the brothers against the other and make them fight

@@yukino4452 legit! Zokket was freaking awesome both in battle and character development!
He only did that once during the whole fight for me

I honestly found the fakeout in the Ten boss fight to be hilarious in retrospect. I was like "i gotta fight him again?! after i just finished fight him?" before Ten just decides to peace out after turn 2

Even Gobblick got me when it started to freaking heal itself 😂🥹

11 Conductor
10 mega snaptor
9 Sharpcask
8 Ten
7 Extension Corps
6 Gobbling
5 pipegunk
4 bowser
3 bowser/glomt
2 zokket
1 Reclusa

I feel bad for Shun because he is always getting interrupted.

The first game in the series to not end with a bowser fight, though they do allude to the bros fighting bowser at the end.
It did feel different, but a very good different!
You could make an Argument for Bowser's Inside Story but that's just a replica of Bowser
As much as I like that all the bosses have some connection to the main plot, I wish there were some one-off fights. Ones like Trunkle, Ms. Thwomp, Junker, and Torkscrew that you have to fight just because they’re in your way.

I'm getting ledwig and Larry flashbacks in the extension corps

Thanks so much!! I appreciate it
I was very disappointed Ten has a solo battle and Shun and Eck don't
That’s just not how you do things. You have three solo battles, THEN a full team battle.
