The plot twist in Partners in Time where you find out that Princess Shroob has an older sister is just so amazing. It is extremely well written, as it his hinted at multiple times during the story, but you won’t really know it before she is set free.
Reclusa may be the most recent final boss in the series, but for me he has the best final battle of the series, long, varied and fun. Fawful remains my favorite antagonist of the series, but Reclusa in my opinion has the most fun final battle to face.
The 2nd phase them for elder shroobs sounds so somber and depressing And even her attacks show it She shoots down her own army as cannon fodder to try and take you out
19:07 You did forget to mention (or you probably don't know about this) There is a VERY Rare attack elder princess shroob can do where she can control the time holes. First she will summon the UFO's, then opens the time hole and sucks them inside, and after a few turns she will open the time hole again and it will shoot out the UFO's at the bros and you got to dodge them with your hammer.
@Nin10doland She can only use it when her HP is so low that you're basically going to kill her in the next move and because this attack is also a two turn move for some reason(talk about poor synergy), even if she does initiate it most players will never actually get to see its payoff. It's a shame, I wish it was more like Cackletta Soul's eye lasers that start being used about halfway through her HP rather than only at the very end where you'll never get to see it.
My List: 6: Reclusa *Brothership* 5: Dreamy Bowser *Dream Team* 4: Bowletta and Cackletta’s Soul *Superstar Saga* 3: Shiny RoboBowser *Paper Jam* 2: Princess Shroob and Elder Princess Shroob *Partners in Time* 1: Dark Bowser and The Dark Star Core *Bowser’s Inside Story*
Fun fact: As I'm watching this video, I'm eating a bunch of rolls. Those are my ABSOLUTE favorite things to eat when doing Thanksgiving. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving, Nin10doland.
I’m sick on Thanksgiving and it is horrible I have to miss out on my family getting together and dinner because of being sick one of my worst Thanksgivings ever
6:06 Correction: You only need to get rid of Dreamy Bowser’s right arm, so then you can start attacking the main target. His left arm just holds one of the bros, until the remaining bro can rescue the other.
Like honestly, I count the princess duo. And I count Shrowser as his own thing. I agree with the PRINCESS fight being number 1 but Shrowser sharing that spotlight? Nah
From your gameplay, it looks like this is how you dodge Shiny RoboBowser’s Trio attack: When he breaths in, look at who is eyes are looking at. That will be his next target. If he looks up, he will fake you out.
PiT's purple derple Bowser is definitely my bottom pick. He's never even called "Shrowser" in the actual game, he was just "purple Bowser" to me as a kid and he never really read as the final boss to me nor did he read as a phase of the amazing Elder Princess Shroob battle(you literally get to walk around in the overworld and save before him, that's not a freaking phase), he always just felt like a tacked on minigame and like somebody was forcing them to include Bowser in every final battle in the series. Other than him I have good things to say about every one of the other final bosses. However, I think my favorite is still Cackletta's Soul weirdly enough. I did a run of each of the five original games before Brothership's release with "No BS", meaning no exploits (Mush Badges, Amiibo cards, etc.) or infinite combos (Advanced Chopper Bros, Magic Window, etc.) and Cackletta's Soul was the one that kept me on my toes the most in spite of me completely steamrolling Bowletta and every other boss before her in Bowser's Castle. She's a nice wake up call, not to mention she invented the concept of having to attack the body parts before the weak point is exposed that the series was always using up until Reclusa, who I commend for finally ditching this concept as well as the forced Bowser inclusion. She also gets noticeably harder as her HP drop, more so than any other boss in the series. Like yeah, Reclusa has that one big freak out and Elder Princess Shroob has that one attack you'll never ever see, but Cackletta's Soul legitimately felt like it was gradually pulling its grip tighter and tighter as the battle went on. But I will concede that she has a lot less going on thematically than any of the other final bosses (except Shrowser, that one is still just purple Bowser trying to be a trendsetter), so I get picking any of the other bosses over her.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for blurring out the Brothership boss! Currently playing through the game now, I've already been spoiled more than I'd like.
Yeah bro you CAN'T never die when using those plugs. Game breaking without them tho. You can never die. 100% agree (I do agree tho some plugs are straight up busted)
My issue with Reclusa is that in a sense. The battle de-escalates as the fight progresses. We're starting at the final form and making our way to the base form in the fight. If the sequence was in reverse i think we could've had a better fight.
I would Love the Princess Shroob Battles if the Bros attack design in this game wasn't designed only around repetition and the bosses themselves didn't have so much HP, it made the experience much worse to me and because of that i'd place the Shroob Queens at the bottom of my list. 6. Shroob Queens for reasons i mentioned above 5/4. Shiny Robo Bowser and Dreamy Bowser interchangeably, they're very good, they just both were Gigantic bowser fights and i think it makes both fights feel less original. Thy still have perfect music and cinematic value to themselves, and are very well balanced. 3. Reclusa , I'd rank it higher if not lack of difficulty and if Music had more Yoko-like gasoline in them. I actually like that we didn't fight the Soli-Tree itself, the fight was supposed to feel unwinnable until Luigi gets an idea to fly INSIDE the tree. The Chase sequence was perfect, The sense of "having to push through despair" when fighting Weeping Reclusa was perfectly paid out once Luigi gets its idea, The Chaos in the second-to-last phase when Reclusa would talk during attacks was a very nice touch (only if attacks would be more original...), and then the Last phase being a perfect climax mirroring the Climax from BiS when we punch the final Boss to the death.....So much stuff that would be perfect if not some glaring holes inbetween them. 2. Cackletta's Soul & Bowletta: The OG fakeout in Mario and Luigi Games, Perfect music in both of the phases, and the second Phase when we start with 1 HP, while an unfair move from a game design perspective, sold kid me on the idea of getting close to losing despite all of my efforts, and despair because of that. After the fight itself is perfectly balanced in terms of difficulty, when even if you deal lots of damage, you need to destroy parts of Cackletta so you get a chance to get damaged, and if you do, you GET lots of damage, especially if Cackletta buffs Herself. All the attacks are very well signalized, so even when fighting the very first time you are able to dodge them, if you think fast enough. They're still perfectly difficult to dodge though....maybe except the hand spinning move, cuz perspective plays a role in it, and it's a 2D game with lack of depth. 1. BiS Battle: Most of the stuff from Cackletta battle with additional benefits: It's like the third final boss in the game, after Dark Star And Dark Star Fawful, this time it's focused on both Bowser and the Bros., Has a perfect setting, It's a parallel to Cackletta's Soul Battle and a direct sequel to Superstar Saga (because of Fawful), and all the parts of the battle are perfect, especially the final Blow from Bowser. There's not a single problem with this battle with a lot of goodness. All in all, Every battle from 5 to 1 is an S tier battle for me, while Shroobs are A tier, so still enjoyable a lot.
I think it will cool if the friendship balls paid Homage to the past games with when roclosa is defeated in the weeping core he uses the advantage of trapping the froze the virtual flower the collector data of previous final passes and merging them together to create his own form, called final abomination with the two arms on his head being one being the arms of elder princess shoob the second one being caclata’s soul arm and the arms on his body being dark star fawful’s arms his body being the dream stone from dreamy Bowser is his TV head getting bigger and having paper Moshe armor on top surrounding it representing shiny Robo Bowser’s head. In the whole point is to get rid of all of his body parts, including his paper Mâché plating until you are left with his most vulnerable part of his body, which is his head where you can actually do damage to him.
I just recently beat Brothership, so SPOILERS BELOW! Honestly, I was fine with the spectacle of it all. The spectacle outweighs the easiness of the boss imo. It was beautifullly cinematic, and I personally loved the transition from battle to riding the plug in Phase 1. I do agree that he should've had more attack variety in his later phases. Also, no offense, but Shrowser is def at the bottom of the list imo. I hate to say this tho, but I also think Dreamy Bowser should be at Number 5. That fight was painfully long, but still fairly challenging.
I’ve got a pet dog, but I wouldn’t trust him with that plush. Scott The Woz also announced his own Youtooz figure recently, but I still wouldn’t trust my dog with it.
I liked all of the final bosses. The one in brothership though is the only one that has nothing to do with bowser which I loved because the original villain made a good fight anyway. The partners in time one was amazing, but the bowser part kind of ruined it for me because you spend the whole game getting stronger, but for the very last battle all of that means nothing and all you do is dodge bowsers attacks which is a little cool, but not the best last phase they could have done.
My list (based off of what I hear from others, my own experience, and designs) 6. Shrowser 5. Shiny Robobowser 4. Cackletta's Soul 3. Dreamy Bowser 2. Reclusa 1. Dark Star (I never experienced the Paper Jam and Partners In Time final bosses so I rated them basedon what I heard from other people)
I feel lots of the stuff you said. Regarding Brothership: I had lots of fun with the game and was happy that it didn't end like Paper Mario (everything that came after PM3) or Mario Party when ND Cube took over. Yet Brothership still disappointed me in some ways. It is a great game and fun but it felt like a best of with some new content to me (if we leave put the story and ignore the new art style). Many attacks, enemy designs, especially the bros moves and much more were heavily inspired by past games or even blantantly copied. Past Mario and Luigi Games did that too starting from Dream Team but it was much less in Dream Team and even Paper Jam then it was in Brothership. The game could have used more creativity in certain areas (thats not saying it wasn't creative. In fact in was quite creative in other areas). What annoyed me the most tho is the beginning and the ending. I took some time and only finished the first boss and got bros attacks after like 8h which is fucking insane... Never would I have imagined a game would have a worse "tutorial section" than dream team. The middle part of the game (2nd and 3rd ocean) was great tho. It sadly went downhill from there. The 4th ocean wasn't as fun as the other ones (just stuffed with bowser minions for no particular reason other than to incorporate them into them game). It got better again with the start of the final 10-15h. That final boss tho is unworthy of a Mario and Luigi game. It is by far the worst regarding music and gameplay. In general the music aside from some tracks was very underwhelming and in part annoying. It's definitely a good game and better than Paper Jam but it isn't even close to the gems of the series for a *multitude* of smaller to medium-sized issues.
I believe that every Mario & Luigi games has good final bosses, but I've only played Bowser's Inside Story, Dream Team Bros and Paper Jam and never played Partners in time, Superstar Saga and Brothership, but I need to play them defienitily Brothership what i'm wishing for christmas and play it then it's so nostalgic to play Mario & Luigi game once again even it's not made by one of the best Nintendo's devs Alpha Dream! I still need to play Dream Team and Paper Jam Bros full games and play Superstar Saga and Partners in Time in NSO, Inside Story has the best Mario & Luigi final boss of all timechange my mind! Happy Holidays and Thanksgiving day everyone! Mario: Let's a go! Luigi: Okey Dokey! ❤💚
yea i have to say u have to play ALL of them, the final boss for brothership was a little dissapointing even though i was the recoomended level for the fight, (what i mean is that it was WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too easy). I am replaying brothership with my friend, and we are playing it co-op, (i am Mario and he is Luigi), BUT, we are not fighting nearly as many battles as we should, we are trying to play the game super underleveled so the game becomes more challenging. Happy Thanksgiving bro!
I like the finale of Bowser 's inside story because he gets to fight dark Bowser and the Mario Bros get to attack fawful in his stomach and I think this game had to do with Bowser 's birthday and even if he did this Bowser Jr 's journey has to do with the game Bowser 's inside story because he had to learn that having friends is better than being by yourself.🤔❓😍😍😍
Why is brotherships final boss music so lame? It’s not awful, but it’s just so eh. Every other final boss theme in the series has slapped, but they really dropped the ball with brotherships. Even the final boss of Bowser Junior‘s journey has a boss theme that goes so hard
I mean the music's alright to me but I did miss that Kingdom Hearts touch I'd feel from the music composer who'd been hired for some of the previous games.
Reclusa may be a really flawed final boss, but all the things I personally enjoy about final bosses, Reclusa is perfect for me. For me it is tied with Dark Bowser for different reasons. Dreamy Bowser annoys me to DEATH. His healing is WAY to strong.
Yeah, Dreamy Bowser's healing sucks because there's no way for you to circumvent it, it's just "pray to RNGsus". Theoretically if you got unlucky enough, he could make himself completely unbeatable by simply going back into healing on the turn he gets out of it every single time.
people keep saying his fight is too easy when BIS final boss suffers from the exact same problem lol. You can melt through Dark Bowser & Fawful's phases like it's almost nothing.
Dude you are nitpicking on Reclusa. Reclusa is a different final boss. Reclusa is at #3 for me. All you did was complain about Reclusa. I enjoyed the boss fight from beginning to end. I agree with #1 but your list before that is so dumb dude. 6. Dreamy Bowser 5. Shiny Robobowser 4. Dark Bowser & Fawful 3. Reclusa 2. Cackletta Soul 1. Shroob Sisters.
Nothing will ever top the urgency of starting the Cackletta boss fight with 1HP. Nothing will ever top the perfect pacing of Superstar Saga being a sub-20 hour RPG with zero filler. The series peaked with Superstar Saga. Less is more.
The plot twist in Partners in Time where you find out that Princess Shroob has an older sister is just so amazing. It is extremely well written, as it his hinted at multiple times during the story, but you won’t really know it before she is set free.

I agree with you. This is why Nintendo MUST do a Mario And Luigi Partners In Time REMAKE!
Yeah!
Yeah!
10:26 in my opinion the enemys in Paper jam had the cooles attacks from the entire series, these attacks are just so amazing!
19:07

I'm glad to see someone else loves elder princess shroob
Dark Bowser & Dark Star Core are my favorite! Because y'know, IN THE FINAL!!!
Happy Thanksgiving Nin10doland!
You didn't bring it up during Dreamy Bowser's section, but his coin flip-hammer attack is so fun and nerve-wracking
Happy thanksgiving nin10do land

Dreamy Bowser is my favorite, fought in hard mode too, he's just so cool and fun to dodge and counter
6:06 Correction: You only need to get rid of Dreamy Bowser’s right arm, so then you can start attacking the main target. His left arm just holds one of the bros, until the remaining bro can rescue the other.
Shrowser does not deserve to be that high up on the list.
Like honestly, I count the princess duo. And I count Shrowser as his own thing. I agree with the PRINCESS fight being number 1 but Shrowser sharing that spotlight? Nah
From your gameplay, it looks like this is how you dodge Shiny RoboBowser’s Trio attack:
When he breaths in, look at who is eyes are looking at. That will be his next target. If he looks up, he will fake you out.
That is an incredibly smart move.

I agree with this and I love the grand finale from inside story
Just wanted to say thank you so much for blurring out the Brothership boss! Currently playing through the game now, I've already been spoiled more than I'd like.
Brothership final boss is good, but music doesn’t slap like in the final or adventures end
Its not better than those themes but its still pretty good and fitting for the boss tbh
Nothing like m&l on thanksgiving 🔥
The only problem whit brothership is that the battle plug are game breaking, if you use them correctly you can't never die
Yeah bro you CAN'T never die when using those plugs. Game breaking without them tho. You can never die. 100% agree (I do agree tho some plugs are straight up busted)
So just don't use that
My issue with Reclusa is that in a sense. The battle de-escalates as the fight progresses. We're starting at the final form and making our way to the base form in the fight. If the sequence was in reverse i think we could've had a better fight.
I love the final boss music from bowser's inside story
>Reclusa at last
When yo son is a geek:
Cackletta’s soul has the most amount of attacks should place her higher
I would Love the Princess Shroob Battles if the Bros attack design in this game wasn't designed only around repetition and the bosses themselves didn't have so much HP, it made the experience much worse to me and because of that i'd place the Shroob Queens at the bottom of my list.
6. Shroob Queens for reasons i mentioned above

Dream Team had fun boss's wish they ported that game :)
I think what’s holding Reclusa back is the music to be honest. It’s still good but it ain’t memorable, unlike the other 5
Because it the kingdom hearts composer isnt meant for mario and Luigi. Well idk if that’s how alpha dreams went down.
2nd place Is dream team and 1st place Is Bowsers Inside story, Simply because of the music alone!
8:09 jimmy bowzer!?

Why is brotherships final boss music so lame? It’s not awful, but it’s just so eh. Every other final boss theme in the series has slapped, but they really dropped the ball with brotherships. Even the final boss of Bowser Junior‘s journey has a boss theme that goes so hard
The music works way better with the context of the fight, its built for the narrative.
Without the context and setting, its weak
I thought it was lame even during the fight. In fact, it kind of annoyed me💀
Maybe that’s how alpha dream went bankrupt?
I mean the music's alright to me but I did miss that Kingdom Hearts touch I'd feel from the music composer who'd been hired for some of the previous games.
No Yoko Shimomura, that's what. The music was composed by a guy named Hideki Sakamoto instead.
Yeah but it's to show their BOND if you get the joke please let me know 3:20 .
@@jefferyandbob3137 being easy doesn't make it less fun/epic, and I think Dark Bowser is a good example of that.
@@ace352 I agree, that's my second favorite final boss after Reclusa
Dude you are nitpicking on Reclusa. Reclusa is a different final boss. Reclusa is at #3 for me. All you did was complain about Reclusa. I enjoyed the boss fight from beginning to end.
I agree with #1 but your list before that is so dumb dude.
6. Dreamy Bowser
5. Shiny Robobowser
4. Dark Bowser & Fawful
3. Reclusa
2. Cackletta Soul
1. Shroob Sisters.

No no no no no never rank again
Nothing will ever top the urgency of starting the Cackletta boss fight with 1HP.
Nothing will ever top the perfect pacing of Superstar Saga being a sub-20 hour RPG with zero filler. The series peaked with Superstar Saga. Less is more.
I love Superstar Saga but the Beanstar Pieces quest is blatant padding.
Agreed
