Wow...I worked on this at the range for a couple of sessions and just brought it to the course this morning. The lesson absolutely transformed my iron game. I gained distance and threw some darts as well. TY Milo and Ed you guys are awesome instructors.
Love the video guys Me and Ed just talked about this and keeping the extension in my right wrist thru impact and to keep pivoting around!!!! Milo and Ed the best teachers around!!
Your advice Milo got me my best score last week I pared the course for the first time ever and have recently come down from a 10 handicap to a six your a legend 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is the exact move I’m trying to master along with lead hip down. I’ve always done the opposite. Just joined your membership yesterday. Excited to get swing looking like that.
Thanks for the great video Milo. In the takeaway I feel this in my left shoulder and upper arm rotating down, helped by slightly resisting or moving fractionally later than the torso. I do use the Sam Sword drill But if you really want to feel it through the ball ,attach a towel 6ins from the end of an old shaft and swing it.Tho this might be specific to me, having dead upper arms due to being told to swing with a towel under my arms when i first started golf. "Connection" is an illusion caused by good sequencing.
PS you can also feel this left side move on a basic homemade see-saw,I used to violently twist it right in transition, but now my left side is working better i dont, I have felt it b4 tho when i hit great hybrids out of fairway bunkers!
Great stuff guys! Thanks! Too many golfers focus on weight shift with hip sway.....they should just think about pressuring the left foot as they re-center n left shoulder down n around....
As an ex baseball player, the way you teach the swing really resonates with me. I'm going to be scheduling an online lesson as soon as this ice clears up!
Milo and Ed, great work as always, I like these video's . . I seem to do better when your swings are in motion instead of p1 to p9 if you get my drift, thats why Milo and Ed are the team to beat !
i like this because i'm left handed and left side dominant but i swing right handed. whenever i try the samuri stick drill i drill myself in the ribs...ouch!!! gotta work on that.
@@MiloLinesGolf Thanks Milo . I know you use a strong left hand grip and neutral right hand . Does it change slightly with different clubs ? I noticed some videos you have a flat left hand. Longer clubs is left slightly cupped ?
looks like your chin and left shoulder stayed connected for quite a while into transition. I thought there was supposed to be more separation (get the shoulder away from the ear). When does the shoulder/ear separation happen ideally?
There are optional illusions because my head rotates with by pivot my shoulder appears not to move away as much as it would in a player that doesn’t turn the head. Hard to give an exact measurement on the timing
I used to chunk everything with this feel until I realized that I wasn't supposed to drop my arms back down in the downswing. I feel like there are a lot of chronically stuck inside golfers out there like I was who don't understand that you're not supposed to drop your arms back down nearly as much as you lift them up.
@@MiloLinesGolf yes, that’s more or less the point I was making. Not to criticize the drill, because it is a good drill for most people. But to point out, for example, that watching most pros swings, they would definitely be slicing themselves with the samurai sword.

Best coach online that I've found! Thank you for the helpful content Milo
Thanks for following along Todd!

Good stuff, Milo! - Great instruction! 👍👍
Thanks! 👍

Welcome aboard!
Does this left shoulder down movement help prevent early extension? Thanks
yes
When the left shoulder moves down and up does the right sholder still beat the hands to the ball.
Yes

A good alternative

Feel the FLOW
Gravity golf with David Lee on TH-cam, love Milo and friends, great content
Thanks for watching!
Like to see comparison video with driver vs iron. I assume it’s the same move with a limited recentering since hitting up on the ball is optimal ?
Ball position allows for later strike in the arc and driver swing is more around because of tee and longer club.
Really great stuff, but how do you compress the driver with this type of swing? Do you need two swings?
No you need slight setup adjustments
@@MiloLinesGolf I'll check your channel for driver setup.
Why would you want to hit the ball low like you said at around 3:16 in the video?
To develop a better impact pattern and because it's a drill and you'll be swinging slower.
Lee, it’s the feel that you’re going to hit it low, reality is you’ll stay in your posture and the loft presented at impact will be perfect.
i like this because i'm left handed and left side dominant but i swing right handed. whenever i try the samuri stick drill i drill myself in the ribs...ouch!!! gotta work on that.
Slow it down and get it right first.
As I start down the shoulder back, then it moves down and forward, then it moves up and in. Try to remember this, as it happens in .5 second
It is possible to build movement maps slowly and eventually add speed once the movement is almost automatic
Milo Is your left hand flat or slightly cupped at top of back swing ?
Slightly cupped because it matches up with my grip
@@MiloLinesGolf Thanks Milo . I know you use a strong left hand grip and neutral right hand . Does it change slightly with different clubs ? I noticed some videos you have a flat left hand. Longer clubs is left slightly cupped ?
@@blueeyes6192 depends on the shot I’m hitting but on all full shots it’s a little cupped.
@@MiloLinesGolf thank you Milo for the replies.

@@MiloLinesGolf ah, makes sense.
Those 👆visual clues👀 was 💘🤝
Thanks!
@@MiloLinesGolf would suggest some basic drills with visual cules, there some drills (metaphor) like zombie walk 🧟♂️💘 however still would suggest ?
Did he say don’t release it? Is that just for the drill or what? The release is built during the complete swing, in my mind anyway.
Yes, for the drill. It's difficult to let go with the samurai drill. In a fuller swing, the release would be more natural.
I think this move could be very helpful to a flipper like myself.
You bet! Make sure to match the wrist conditions. We cover this and foundational videos on my website at milolinesgolf.com.

This would make for an excellent video and discussion. Will add this to our list!
That last face on shows that this is more feel than real in the actual swing, but definitely a good drill
It’s real but not nearly as exaggerated as the feeling we’re demonstrating to get the point across.
@@MiloLinesGolf yes, that’s more or less the point I was making. Not to criticize the drill, because it is a good drill for most people. But to point out, for example, that watching most pros swings, they would definitely be slicing themselves with the samurai sword.
Bravo!
Shirt buttons close on lead leg....
That was a nice touch from master Ed!
you never did the all famous squat.
It’s in every swing if you look closely
sorry. yes you did. ha ha
