About the polygel: Do you apply frehand or use the molding clips? And do you find that they lift after a while? Like a week or so. I tried polygel so many times and just couldn't get it right. I tried to rough up mu cuticle bed in order to create friction for cohesion but it doesn't seem like it got better. Any tips?😢
I use whole tips and have done acrylic on client but they pop off after awhile sometimes her fault by hitting something but sometimes just bumping or whatever it comes off so it's better to use acrylic bcuz she does have wide nail beds and uneven nail beds. Thank u

Not trolling...just curious...What about the gel manicures that have been in the news this week about the UV lights affecting DNA? The light can change the cell DNA bcuz the UV lights in the Salons are way more potent than a tanning bed...not regulated...and found it can also possibly get your skin to for melanomas??? I heard that on the news this week...so I was just wondering if you've heard anything of that...if there is any merit to it...and is there an alternative to those if you're using Regular Gels or Hybrid Gels...???....thank you.
The study that has been in the news recently was based on a very limited amount of data. Studies like this are done to skew a statistic to support their opinion. It wasn’t a full, non-biased study. Most gel lamps used in the nail industry emit less damaging rays than the sun and have been considered safe for many years. The minimal amount of time the hands are in the curing lamp is less than the average person is outside in the sunlight and is less than what people would use in tanning beds.

For ski slope nails, we recommend cutting the nail back As much as you can and then working on them like you would bitten nails. If your hands are in chemicals or water a lot and hard gel would work better then you can do hybrid nails. Acrylic is what we typically recommend using on bitten nails because it works great on them like a cast. You can combine the two but building your free edge with acrylic and then the rest of the nail in hard gel. The product itself doesn't damage or thin the nails. If the nails are being over filed or removed & re-done every couple of weeks, the repeated filing or soaking in acetone can cause thinning.
Help me understand: why would it matter, if you can give them acrylic with a gel colour/design/topcoat? Wouldn't the non-porous gel layers seal the porous acrylic?
Most gel polishes are soft gels so they would still be porous. Also, by using a hard gel, the whole enhancement would be "sealed" to the nail, not just around the edge. This way, you get a whole enhancement that chemicals etc can not penetrate.
Fiber Gel is a flexible soft gel that was designed to be used on natural nails. It works great on a strong, healthy nail, but it is also good on thin, brittle, damaged nails to protect them as they grow. We have had success using it over short extensions (tip or sculptured nails) but we do not recommend using it for long extensions.

The Fiber Gel does work really well on brittle/thin nails! We would recommend doing 2-3 thin coats as a base before your gel polish color to build a little structure. If you are just using it for a base coat under your gel polish, you can use any of the Fiber Gel colors, but the original is a nice clean, slightly translucent color that won't interfere with the color you put on top. If you are wanting to use the Fiber Gel for a nude/opaque color instead of gel polish, the Cover Nude or Soft White are pretty options. They will all have the same benefit to the nail, it's just what color you prefer.
So u have really damaged thin nails from someone over filing and from trying gel ex, and being terrible and litterly ripping them off. Im mean they hurt when they aren't covered with a nail. Im doing my own nails , and I use gel as my hubby doesn't like the smell. So thats what we switched to. Its only been a few weeks, but seems to be going well. I do have to make mine a bit thicker than I would anyone else, due to my bad habits of nibbling. Any suggestions? I'd like to be able to make then thinner. Also can you pinch your gel? Like partial cure and then pinch? Trying to get my natural nails healthy again. Even put a soak off layer under my nails. Thpugh the goal is to keep these on while they heal.

@@youngnailsinc thank you. I create a very short extention. At some point when the damage is gone id like to do overlay. But for now because of the gamGe and because I'm terrible and pick at the nTruL nail if it lifts under the extention. I keep the natural nail short underneath.

And when there is thin nails with mild onycholisis? I feel gel and acrylic pull too hard, just gelpolish isn't strong enough, I am now trying rubber base in a bottle.
If there is separation of the nail caused by something other than damage/overfiling, you would first want to refer the customer to their healthcare provider to make sure there isn't another condition. However, if the nails are just thin or damaged, our Fiber Gel works great to give these nails more protection and durability while still maintaining flexibility.

What if you have unhealthy nails like sleep ski, slope nails but you also work with a lot of chemicals

We would still recommend hard gel if you want extensions. If it's just a manicure, we would use our fiber gel.
