Wow!! This is really a cute and well made little filter, and the way you've placed the media inside I think is absolutely great. You start with the ceramic rings to diffuse the incoming flow of water and let the heavy particles settle. Next you have foams to catch and collect the debris from large to small. And in the final step, the media you want your benifitial bacteria to grow in and on, has polished, particle-free water so their pores won't get clogged up with waste and can all be housed by the bacteria.
Nope! That is backwards! The water should go through a medium mechanical media, like sponge then through something fine BEFORE getting to ceramic rings or similar! Seriously, you don't want dirty aquarium water going into what is supposed to be your biological media first. Plenty of other comments saying the same thing!!
@@ianrawlings2546 Nope to you back, good sir! The small single layer of ceramic rings in the usually void space in the bottom of the canister are not there for the function of biological media.
I also think that the coral helps to control the ph level of the water. BUT.... I would design the filter to be inside the tank. I've had too many leaks in the past. Every connection and elbow join is another place that can fail. (Who knew that UV light filters only lasted for a couple of years before they start leaking?)
This is the best filter which I saw for my tank. I have watch like many videos and did some and it did not work for me. Wait for it but this did 100% for me . If you guys are looking for a cheap filter then this is one it will cost 6 to 10 dollars. For me I finished with 250rf/
First off thanks for sharing your video good job. One thing I would suggest is to have the filter on the low pressure side of the pump. The way it is if the media clogs it could pop off the pipe at the inlet to the canister and because the inlet to the pump sits so low in the water it could drain almost the whole tank.
No brass in aquarium it contain copper (Cu). And second main element is zink (Zn). Also if it is not a food grade it also could contain lead (Pb) which improve its mechanical properties, but is strong poison. Also brass is used in the KDF filters (myth or real) . it will produce electro chemical cell in the water, worthier in salty one, between Cu and Zn. Zn will be washed away, Induced currents potentially will kill bacteria, may be precipitate some metals. Some good stuf Cl will be bonded to Zn. Over the time Cu will be washed away. Also as somebody pointed in comments. It is better to pull water from filter, this will produce small vacuum in it. This should reduce probability of any leak.
@@galihadiputro7677 Hi. Technically everything is ok, but don't use brass, copper or any other metal parts which has copper or zinc. Only food grade stainless steel could be used (still questionable, for human is safe, but for fish?). Food polyethylene containers cheap and good, but nothing could be glued to them for long period of time. Better to use uniseal or some fitting with sсrew.
You should reverse the flow, water coming from top and use gravity for water to trickle down not the pump to force it thru filter. Your first filter layer should be filter floss.
Om admin, boleh kasih saran. Om admin kasih keterangan alat apa saja yang digunakan, termasuk untuk ukuran konektor pipanya, jadi viewer bisa ikutin cara om admin membuat external filternya. Terima kasih om admin🥰
The concept for most of these is very understandable but nobody ever lists the type of flexible hose there using to make those important connections. What is that green hose that is making most of the important connections and where can you get it? Its obviously very flexible and has stretch so it makes a good seal.
Hello there - great idea, if i look on this I am asking myself do I need that expensive plastic overcomplicated monsters? All what we need is flow through media, maybe at bigger flow maybe more secure hose joins - but this is all what we need :D
apakah susunan material penyaringannya tidak terbalik mba klo air input nya dari bawah seperti itu? biasanya saya liat ring keramik itu tersimpan diterakhir pas air sudah tersaring, maaf klo opini saya salah, mohon pencerahannya gan . . . .
Salam.
Very nice and simple diy filter thanks for ur idea
The background music made me feel as if I could build a warehouse full of those things😃...very simplistic and practical. You’re the BEST!

I’ve been looking for a simple yet functional design, this is exactly what I was looking for. I will try to build it soon. Thanks for your video.

Fluval cry after your DIY!!! Fantastic job dude!
Mr Hasnah an effective simple water filter made from common things. My regards.
The best video
Your mechanical filter media is backwards. You want to filter the water as it comes in to remove particles.
True
That's correct actually. To prevent clogging. So that you can see if you need to maintain.
Excelente idea. Muy buena caida de agua. Y muy buena música.
Verry nice filter diy because its simple and low budget
Exelente tu trabajo..facil y detallado.
FELICITACIONES..

Couldn't get
Sistemnya sama seperti filter talang air, hanya penambahan batuan dan sponge sebagai media filter. Simple dan berguna sekali infonya
Very good and make easy. But These needed materials available in which shop

are you saying that the plumbing system is ok but the filter element choosing is wrong ?

Correct !
exactly what im gonna say.
yes.....or just add another jar as a sump where the pump water goes and will let it overflow to the filter jar via a tube connection.
I noticed this too right away
Nicely done. How big is the tank? How much water is going thru that power head? thx.
HI NICE VIDEO,
The coral does not increase the PH?
Simple tp keren! tp kalo saya lbh suka yg inputnya diatas output dibawah.. biar klo bersihin media filternya gmpang (g hrs ngerombak).. btw karang jahe bagusnya diganti.. bisa pake crystal bio atau kaldness #cumasaran 😁
Saran yang bagus, nanti saya coba deh. Makasih ya...

Lubanginya pake ap gan? Rapih bener buletnya
Very nice filter..and looking very nice
Thanks bro...
Beautiful 👍👍👍❤️
Genius... you are the genius one...👍👍👍... i will subcribe your channel...
In this filter.. First absorb of dirt is the pump? 2nd is filter?
And the pump goes damage first
I agree, the pump must be sucking the clean water from the filter, not pushing the dirty water into the filter.
Very good job 👍
Canister mini....josss mantap
Kak klo disimpan dibawah akuarium bisa ga? Klo mati lampu luber ga?
Nice and simple design..loved it.....
In how many months do U need to clean the aquarium with this system?
Beautiful design. 👍

Отличное видео👍💯🔔✍️🤝
Very nice👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
ممنون خیلی عالی بود 🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏💋💋💋💋😘😘😘😘
Mantap pak simpel dan rapi
Should the media be after pads? Seems like they would get filled with goop
Jim Chavez Yes, I would also recommend putting the bio media in a mesh bag to keep any small pieces out of the pump.
Super job 😊👍nice 🎥
WOWW..... IT'S A LIFE SAVER ...
So this doesn't need a airstone or bubbler as long as there is water agitatiin/current at surface?
Tutorialna pake voice atuh bos + ukuran + Alat2 yg dibutuhkan...hatur tengkyu...
Nice video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I like the build.

How did u made the container lid leak proof? Mine is leaking no matter wat i do😔. Did u use silicon sealant on lid?
Use m seal
Are you using the 3n1 pump? If yes, how do u control the water outflow?

Jd pengen..Di online shop ada ga?
Please tell me the size/long of each pipes transparant aquarium. Thank you 😀
Very nicely done! I’m surprised DIY Joey didn’t say you ripped this off from HIM!
Key to a good external filter is Easy maintenance... no spill of water when cleaning of filter is essential.
This is just an experiment. What you said above is 100% correct. Thanks bro.
Muito boa sua ideia.
Simples e objetiva.
Parabéns!
Thanks Bro...
You should put a spong on the intake to prevent massive waste build up in your pump.

Buenísimo ! Gracias ! Lo voy hacer ,
Take my money!!! This is really simple and easy to do.. thanks!
Sunsun wh 302 is it enough for 500lt tank
wow very nice video
Great job buddy.
I made mine witha 2 gallon water jug. Same principle but I used flexible hose.

Bhai aquarium pipe kha se milenge?🤔
Super genial.
you can install a sponge prefilter on the pump
It's better. Thanks bro.
Ijin tanya om yg sok darat luar warna orenge itu UK brp & yg sok dalam warna kuning Amas itu UK brp maaf biar GK salah klo beli mohon pencerahan nx?

Nice and good work... From whr u get these elbow and pipe fitings..??
I bought from tokopedia.com. Thanks bro.
@@HasnahKamilah any online store for these pipes in india
can you please post the link for the site where you got the tubing from?
Fiters from bottom to up....?
Q. Submersible water pump use here, how much watt ?? 5/9/18 watt power ?
oh jadi canister bisa pake pompa di luar tabung ya ?
bisa banget mas...
setahuku canester unggul di tekanan air saat penyaringan, mekanikal filtrasi kata para master...
salam diy
How did you clean the canister afterwards?
Open by rotating the bottom container then remove the filter media one by one. Clean or replace dirty media.
Can you leave a link to where you got all materials from to make canister
If you need cheap bio media use lava rock. It won’t degrade so it’ll last forever, and it’s inert so it won’t change water parameters.
What is the power of filter ??
Good video 😄👍🔔
Keren Hasnah. Thanks for sharing.
Good video👍😀
What is the diameter of pipe used in power filter
