Hi Teflon, whenever you return to Trinidad, you can get Jerk Chicken/food from a few places, namely Ariapita Avenue, and on the weekend at the Savannah there are 2 Jamaicans who sell Jerk food, they used to be obliquely opposite 51 Degrees nightclub.
Ras real take his time to explain everything, you could tell he real proud to talk about Trini food. If I ever in London I will definitely visit this man shop.
In Chaguanas at montrose main road before the traffic light I forgot the name of restaurant maybe TriniJam or something like that but he jamacian as 3 outlets his food is really good and affordable
sadly i am a long time customer who only received half of what i paid for and Bernard could not have been less interested. telling a disabled person to go to the shop to resolve the issue was not nice and if i didn't chase him after a week and a half he would never have bothered responding despite the photos i sent him, as it seems he "was busy", which we all know is code for not giving a damn. when buying a large portion check your food or you will likely be ripped off. if what i received were large portions then a regular portion would seem to work only for children and hamsters. pricing far too high for what you get. read the google reviews. staggering how they treat long time customers, especially in an economy like we have now. pretty ridiculous.
Trini here so i feel i need to jump out and find his place oui cause I here in Devon real salting for some doubles.....i mean i cook a mean curry myself but sometimes you like to rock back and eat you trini food. Lawd oui he have phulorie....ah cominggggg
@@teflontravels Indeed we are proud of our diversity of food in our country, Roti doubles pelau curry or stew chicken lamb goat shrimp and so many more dishes, I have been to London twice next time I'll visit Keppra up your work blessings, 💕
I know right 😅. I tell all my trini friends not to bother leave especially if you live in Tobago. Beautiful place and things are way cheaper comparing to foreign 👌🏾
Wow!...4 quid for a doubles trinidad famous street food...bloody expensive but i guess its probably worth it..but i think in trini it's about 50 pence right now..6 tt dollars
The pricing is slightly different because this is not your typical street food on the road side. Because it’s in a takeaway shop with lots over overheads not forgetting cost of living over here and pricing it’s slightly more compared to back home in the Caribbean
Their Chicken/Lamb Roti isn't great, needs better seasoning and more taste. It's disappointing in terms of flavour. The actual roti bread is nice. Their doubles are good though.
London's not great for roti unfortunately. I think Toronto has the best roti and doubles outside of Trinidad. Coming from a New Yorker, where we don't have very good roti either. In Toronto it's literally everywhere and amazing. Also, in my opinion, you have to separate the Caribbean foods. I only trust Trinis to make roti and only trust Jamaicans to make jerk chicken. When it's all fused together, it's usually not good.
Very true , it’s just like most cuisines , they usually taste more authentic from the original countries. And food establishments should specialise in their cuisines although some do a better job. Interesting perspective 👌🏾
Let me know what your favourite filling is in your Roti 😎

Mauby is a bark that's boiled with spices like star anise, cloves and some others. then it's sweetened with sugar.
